Summer, this is amazing!! The lighting information is especially helpful. I’ve struggled to understand the difference between light levels in my own space. Seeing the huge window I thought you would say it’s a “high light” exposure. I'm a botanist and trained horticulturist, but as with all of us, you never stop learning. Your videos are extremely educational, entertaining and relaxing. I love the quality of the videos, how in depth they are, and naming all the plants and showing them off is wonderful for those I'm not familiar with.

I got three medium-small size plants in my bedroom and my mental well being over all has improved significantly. I also noticed less dust particle in my room and the humidity level is perfect. The plans also act as sound cancelling and the dull green leaves decreases my anxiety episodes.
Listen to you teach others is so inspiring. You can really hear the passion in your voice when you are talking about all these beautiful green friends 🍃
*"Thaumatophyllum"* means "Miracle Leaf." There are about 20 former Philodendrons that grow on a sturdy trunk that were moved to this revived genus a few months ago. Damon knows philosophy and would probably work that out.

Looks great! I did notice that his Ficus Lyrata is close to the heat vent in the north eastern window, just wanted to add that I also kept one in a near identical space and it LOVED the light it got there and put out so much new growth all spring, summer, and even in the fall all the way into late November it was still pushing so much new growth out, but then I turned my heat on during Thanksgiving... Unfortunately it took me a while to realize the heat vent was the source of my problems and at that point it was too late and my poor tree didn't make it. After days of research I found out that my apartments forced air heat brought the humidity way down in my space and was pushing out dry, warm air right toward the plant (I only set my heat to 65-67F so I wasn't necessarily blasting it), and being within a few feet of my heating vent my Ficus threw a fit and dropped ALL of its leaves from the dry air blowing out near it. He might not have the problem I had but I just figured I would say something just in case!
I so love this video seeing Summer in action. So informative and educational in all aspects from assessing the space to place plants, to choosing plants which will fit in the kind of light exposure, the lovely grow light from GE and plant shopping. Wow. Just. Wow!

I am impressed with how engaged David was with learning about his plants. This was not just a "come fix up my apartment" request. He seemed to truly be interested in interacting with the plants he wanted in his living space, which is one reason I think we should have plants in our living space. Like you, Summer, I can see soooo many more plants in that space! This was a fantastic video, all the way around.

This would be such a good series of you going into people's houses and giving them a houseplant home makeover. I watch this quite frequently and it's so much fun seeing the different ways you get around certain hurdles and your reasonings for certain plants.

Looks great! I did notice that his Ficus Lyrata is close to the heat vent in the north eastern window, just wanted to add that I also kept one in a near identical space and it LOVED the light it got there and put out so much new growth all spring, summer, and even in the fall all the way into late November it was still pushing so much new growth out, but then I turned my heat on during Thanksgiving... Unfortunately it took me a while to realize the heat vent was the source of my problems and at that point it was too late and my poor tree didn't make it. After days of research I found out that my apartments forced air heat brought the humidity way down in my space and was pushing out dry, warm air right toward the plant (I only set my heat to 65-67F so I wasn't necessarily blasting it), and being within a few feet of my heating vent my Ficus threw a fit and dropped ALL of its leaves from the dry air blowing out near it. He might not have the problem I had but I just figured I would say something just in case!
Yes, perfect point. I asked him to keep any eye out for his orchid, ficus, etc. for when the heat comes on!

I am impressed with how engaged David was with learning about his plants. This was not just a "come fix up my apartment" request. He seemed to truly be interested in interacting with the plants he wanted in his living space, which is one reason I think we should have plants in our living space. Like you, Summer, I can see soooo many more plants in that space! This was a fantastic video, all the way around.
