Ace Combat: Assault Horizon - Dogfight Music (Extended)

- čas přidán 24. 10. 2011
- I took the Dogfight music from Assault Horizon and looped it a few times since I thought the version on the OST that came with the game was a bit short. I haven't seen anyone else do this yet, so I thought I'd give it a go myself.

Ace Combat Crossover:
“AWACS here, callsign SkyEye. Mobius I, Galm Team will have your wing.”
“Yo, Buddy. There’s the legend they call Mobius I. Mobius I, we heard quite a bit about you. However, we’re not going to allow you to be ahead of us.”
“This is Flagship Marigold of the Royal Emmerian Navy from the Emmerian 2nd Fleet. We’re approaching the enemy harbor. Requesting air support.”
“AWACS Ghost Eyes here. Garuda Team, you know what to do. Provide air support for the naval assault. Warwolf Squadron, we need you to cover Garuda Team.”
“Warwolf Leader, orders received and understood.”
“Alright Talisman. Just like we always do. This time, we’re dancing with other legends. Hey, Warwolf Squadron, you think you can keep up with our pace?”
“Rest assured Shamrock, we have also earned our wings.”
“This is AWACS Long Caster here. We’re detecting large numbers of UAVS in the area. Strider Squadron coming in to support along with Scarface Squadron and Razgriz Squadron.”
“Mobius I, Galm Team, Garuda Team, Warwolf Squadron, Scarface Squadron, Razgriz Squadron. We’re flying with legends here.”
“That indeed Count. Trigger, I hope your aircraft is well fed. That goes for all of you as well. We have a lot of competition on our hands.”
“Righto! Come on Three Strikes. Show these legends what you’re made of.”
Skyeye: “Mobius I, Galm Team,”
Ghost Eyes: “Garuda Team, Warwolf Squadron,”
Long Caster: “Strider Squadron, Scarface Squadron, Razgriz Squadron.”
Skyeye, Ghost Eye, & Long Caster: “Engage!”
Eursean Soldier: “I... I... I don’t believe it!”
Eursean Officer: “What!?!? What is it!!”
Eursean Soldier: “That Raptor right there with the two F-15Cs!! That’s... That’s the Ribbon Fighter!”
Eursean Officer: “Impossible!! I thought he went away along with all of ISAF! Are there any others!?!? Know what, never mind! Scramble more UAVS, get all AA guns and SAMs operational! No matter what happens, we can not let this place fall!”
Belkan Pilot 1: “No way!!! It’s the Demon Lord of the Round Table!”
Belkan Pilot 2: “What!?!? He’s back!?!?”
Belkan Squadron Leader: “Everyone relax!! We can take them! Just follow my lead!”
“This is AWACS Eagle Eye reading! Antares Squadron, Cyclopes Squadron, Warlock Battalion and Steel Gunners are in need of air support! Garuda Team is currently assisting the naval assault! That leaves the assignment to you!”
“How many more battles must we fight until this war is over?”
“Hopefully not too many after this one. But no matter what, I’m willing to fight as long as it brings peace back to our continent.”
“AWACS Thunderhead speaking. Wardog 2, Crow 3, cut the chatter! Wardog Squadron, Crow Team, your orders are to assist Strider, Scarface, and Razgriz Squadron to obtain air superiority.”
“AWACS Sky Keeper here. SARF Team, let me remind you that this is actual war between countries and not between companies. That aside now, you are to support Crow Team and Wardog Squadron, along with the other squadrons, to obtain air superiority.”
Rena: “SARF 1, orders understood. Also, this our first time flying with an AWACS. You’re suppose to support us, right?”
“That indeed SARF 1. Don’t worry. You can count on me to provide you with all the necessary information you’ll need to make this operation a success.”
“Spare Squadron, listen up!! This is Bandog. You’re here to atone for your crimes. You can start that off by covering our allies’ assault by eliminating all SAMs and AA guns in the area. If you can’t do that, just fly around and be a target. Oh, one more thing. Anyone who disobeys will find themselves a comfortable place in solitary and deserters WILL be shot down.”
Eagle Eye: “Antares Squadron, Cyclops Squadron,”
Thunderhead: “Wardog Squadron, Crow Team,”
Sky Keeper: “SARF Team,”
Bandog: “Spare Squadron,”
Eagle Eye, Thunderhead, Sky Keeper, & Bandog: “Engage!”
Paul Gibson when I read “AWACS here, callsign Skyeye” I immediately heard “La La La Laaaa~ listen to our beautiful voice! This is AWACS Oka Nieba, That would mean ‘sky eye’ in your language!”
Now this is a good roleplay thing hehe
Had an amusing thought on reading this. 'What in god's name do you need that many squadrons for?"
"Make sure to save some of your munitions. Remember, our primary target has yet to make an appearance."
"What do we have on the target?"
"Neucom reported that one of their scientists let lose an advanced air combat AI, code name NEMO. It had a target, but downed him in the first days of the conflict. Now it's completely out of control and has been tearing through everyone."
"They say it's got combat data from as far back as the Belkan War."
"It's a UCAV, not entirely unlike the Z.O.E. and the two Ravens from the end of the lighthouse war."
"Trick is, despite using relatively outdated planes, there's an entire squadron of them."
"Outdated is one way to put it, they have an entire squadron of ADF-01 FALKEN's."
"Which one's the real NEMO?"
"All of them are real. Jamming from our AWACS will keep NEMO from hacking other planes or uploading itself to escape once they engage."
"Provided they don't shoot us all down. We'll have to stay in the cloud cover or those lasers will tear us apart."
The demon lords of the round table and demons of razgriz joined the chat.

@@zerogravity1724 people can have opinions, you know
Given the sales of 7 compared to Assault Horizon, an ace combat 8 is far more likely (not to mention preferable).
In my opinion AH was in no way a bad game, just not a real Ace Combat. If it was made a seperate thing without the Ace Combat name it would probably be received better.
Titanfall 2 you say? Hell yeah fellow pilot!

If there's one thing that Assault Horizon did right, it's the OST. God, this is amazing. 0:53 hits different... it's like a lull, a brief respite in the fighting, and then you jump right back in
Is it bad that I kind of want this game just because of the music?
not at all, the game is just as amazing as it's soundtrack. That goes for ALL the Ace Combat games, from zero to 6
Cuckoo Phendula A month late, but seriously go and listen to all of the Ace Combat OST's. All of them are pretty great. Heck, if you can find them, go get the old games too. The PS2 games were pretty great- better than this at any rate.
KorKuVereN Ace combat 4 was my jam, love all the others, even this one, yes with it's crappy dfm and all. My first ever ps 2 game. Hell, I love air combat games in general, from world war one to the future. I've always wanted to be a pilot irl
jim volkert Yeah, same here, but I'm too tall. Probably would have to make a plane just for me. I liked Assault Horizon until I played the chopper and ac130 levels. If I wanted to play COD, I'd play COD.
KorKuVereN true, they felt like a bit of a cop out. But the rest was pretty awesome imo.
"Yo buddy you still alive"- Solo Wing Pixy
when you're trying to land your crop duster in a cargo plane
For those that are unaware, this is a reference to a mission in GTA V called ‘Minor Turbulence’. In the mission, the character Trevor Philips is attempting to steal a private military organisations shipment of weapons aboard a cargo plane, so he rams his crop duster in the rear and jumps inside. The player fights through the jet and takes control. Eventually the plane is shot down by military jets. The cargo plane in question is based off of the C-5 Galaxy and the AN-95.
I usually end up playing this music in the background when playing games like the OG star wars battlefront 2 or the sabre mission and falcon missions from Halo Reach. The song still clicks despite the age.

The first time I listened to this song was a couple years before I played the game, the song alone gave me quite an adrenaline rush. Then I played Assault Horizon and got an even BIGGER rush during the dog fights!
To you normal mortal kombat players, rpg players, and fps players overall, you won't get something quite as dramatic and intense as a dogfighting game such as this, believe me air fighting is badass period, and it takes a lot of skill to be a top ace in a game like this, not to mention that it's just outstanding, I mean this is the one game style where you get to fly in a way that may be realistic but nonetheless is just fucking epic
i agree.
+97anonymus
I think Ace combat 2 (or air combat 22 or one of the PS1 era ace combat games) had music like this.
It usually depends on the how the missions are gonna be or how dramatic the story is for the music to work.
Peter Dubinsky *fist bump*
"realistic"...Have you ever even flown a plane?
You have to be on SERIOUS drugs to say that Ace Combat is in any way realistic.
There are very few songs in games that makes me remember what I was doing and the emotions I felt while it came on. This is definitely one of them.

Top 8 strongest ace heroes:
1. Galm 1 (Cipher) from Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War (PS2)
2. Gryphus 1 from Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception (PSP)
3. Mobius 1 from Ace Combat 4: Shattered Skies/Distant Thunder (PS2)
4. Antares Squadron from Ace Combat X2: Joint Assault (PSP)
5. Razgriz 1 (Blaze) from Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War (PS2)
6. Garuda 1 from Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation (XBOX 360)
7. Warwolf 1 (Bishop) from Ace Combat: Assault Horizon (XBOX,PS3,PC)
8. Scarface 1 from Ace Combat 2 (PS1)
Galm 1 is the the top ace of the aces because he shot down many veteran ace squadrons, Excalibur (Huge Laser Tower), fotresses, destroy mass of destruction in nuclear facilities by flying down to the deep underground tunnel, and his comrade 'Pixy' using Morgan aircraft.
Mobius 1 single-handedly led the ISAF to victory over Erusea, though.
Big McLargeHuge This
Big McLargeHuge
Mobius One's badass but Ciper takes the cake hands down. According to canon, he actually fights all three squadrons of Aces in B7R AT THE SAME TIME and wins without so much as scratching the paint job on his plane. He also pretty much dragged Ustio away from defeat, suppressed two superweapons, blew the crap out of TWO superfortresses and then went on to completely destroy an uber-advanced prototype fighter that shoots lasers, burst missiles, and can only really be harmed if attacked from a specific angle in an F-15C which was practically running on empty when Pixy jumped him and PJ.
FrostyZipper
Mobius 1 fought several Yellow squadrons during his career in the war, took down a plethora of squadrons, and canonically took out 2 superweapons, being stonehenge and megalith.
Mobius 1 played crucial roles in the ground assaults of Operation Bunker Shot, Whiskey Corridor, and was regarded as the hero of the siege of Farbanti.
I think Cypher and Mobius are tied, because Mobius 1 took ISAF from multiple losing frontlines, got them back into the war, and took on three yellow squadrons above the ocean near Megalith, took out the generators, went inside of the facility and destroyed the main ICBM.
Don't forget about Gryphus 1, he/she actually destroy Gleipnir (Giant Airborne Fortress with lower Laser Cannon and Shock Cannon), destroy all grounded Laser Cannons, destroy one elite veteran squadron counted with more than 10 SU-47 Berkut or 4 super aircraft Fenrir with Optical Camouflage and "huge electric ball", and finally destroy heart of enemy giant fortress with Shock Cannon by flew in the Hangar Fortress then destroy last one super aircraft Fenrir before escape the exit opened door behind the hangar.

God i hope Ace Combat 7 has a soundtrack with the same intensity as this one. Every song made me feel like a demon of the sky.
You may be dissapointed
I'd say it exceeds that.
The main reason Ace Combat music is always so awesome is because it fits the gameplay perfectly
One of the things i most like in this is:
MY CHARATER FUCKING SPEAKS FOR THE FIRST FUCKING TIME!
BEST FEATURE EVER!OUR Colonel Bishop SPEAKS!
Mustang BR you proud?!
Thank you for this extension!
Made my day :D
Every Ace Combat seems to have that one song that sets the entire theme of the game. Loving the latest one.
A lot of the previous Ace Combat featured 1 or 2 missions like that, in AC04 there was a mission where you had to go in and take out weather balloons that were jamming all radar and prevented lock on, so you basically had to find them by sight and shoot them down so that a recon plane that was due to go through there could pass safely without crashing into a mountain
I EFFING LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!!! I couldn't wait till it came out and my waiting was well worth it. I got to fly some of my favorite planes that you couldn't fly previously like the AC-130 Spooky and the B-2 Spirit all while listening to this kind of music...It was absolutely one of the best game experiences I've ever had. The graphics were incredible and the cutscenes were like watching a movie. 20 out of 10 :D
Nice piece of work, I even had this one as ringtone on my phone...
This makes me think of all the ace combat games. I love this series🛩

Two things about this game were far better than in AC7: the soundtrack, and the existence of coop multiplayer.
Thanks for the upload, the internet needed this.
I loved this game especially the dog fight mode where your camera switched next to your cannon, those 20mm sounded so nasty it was great.
This game could have been so much greater if they dropped that stupid DFM. What ruined DFM in turn was the stupid amounts of health enemies had, and how sometimes they couldn't even be killed before a certain point in an animation or whatever.
Replayed Ace Combat 3 the other day and I had lots of more fun with that.
Adahy Lewis The problem isn't that there's regenerating health... but that they made you get used to it for the entire game, up to the second-hardest difficulty, then took it away for Ace - in a game that FORCES you to take damage via the machineguns in the DFM (you can NOT avoid taking chips of damage there).
Seriously, if they had taken out the DFM, the regenerating health could stay just fine. I mean hell, in the past games a single missile would down you on Ace anyway, so what good would it do? Heh.
Ace Combat 5 and 6 for me
I thought the DFM was really cool, and really refreshed the air-to-air aspect. And this is coming from a diehard AC fan.
Adahy Lewis
Actually in Ace Combat 4 if you you collided with a wall from the sides (not smashing nose first into a wall) and you were going slow enough you would just take severe damage and your wings and rudder thingies would be damaged for the rest of the mission. Accidentally nicked a wall during my first run through Gigaleth and had to fight against my busted controls to fly somewhat straight. It was pretty tense, I wish later Ace Combats had done that since it can make missions more exciting.
You can turn DFM off in the start menu
KATAMARI? GODZILLA? NO! IT'S SMUGH!
I like the main chorus part. It make you sound so mighty when playing the game when that bit comes.

Just an idea of how to make AH fit into the Ace Combat series.
An extremely advance terrorist organization threatens all of Strangereal and cause an all out war. And so like all the other Ace Combat games, a single Ace manages to turn the tide of the war into the Allies’s favor. With the terrorist on the brink of defeat, their end seems near. However, a group of terrorist scientists develops some sort of “portal” machine that allows them to escape into our world. Once in our world, they begin to rebuild. Noticing our technological inferiority, they threaten our world with their world order. This is where Warwolf Squadron comes into play. Warwolf Squadron travels the world, desperately trying to defend our free world against a terrifyingly powerful, technologically superior unknown enemy.
Meanwhile, the Strangereal Ace pursues after the terrorist group. The Ace and Warwolf Squadron’s first encounter isn’t too friendly as Warwolf tries to shoot the Ace down thinking it’s another member of the unknown terrorist group. However, after convincing Warwolf Squadron that they are not the enemy, the Ace and Warwolf join forces to bring down the terrorist organization.
Under the guidance of the Strangereal Ace, the Ace and Warwolf slowly begin to reclaim back what’s our and bring the terrorist group back to their knees, the player alternating perspectives between the Strangereal Ace and Warwolf. In the second to last mission, the Strangereal Ace is shot down by the enemy Ace and severely injured, leaving Warwolf as the only pilot potent enough to shoot the enemy Ace down. In a showdown at Washington D.C, Warwolf uses the knowledge and tricks handed down by the Strangereal Ace to fight against the enemy Ace and ultimately shooting the enemy Ace down and winning the war.
It’s just an idea. Not necessarily a good one but it’s at least something.

TIE fighters suffer from extreme yaw problems in-atmosphere, rendering them vulnerable in a dogfight, and in the lower atmosphere almost any modern fighter can simply outrun both TIEs and X-wings.
