Wow I didnt remember the voice acting at all.
the pal version had different VAs and dialogue. That might be why
I'm currently playing it and it's definetly a different version but also remember they have different names as well

technically they did w/ Ape Escape: On the Loose for the PSP. Unfortunately 1 crappy analog stick really crippled the game.
They didn’t remake it but if you get the highest tier of their playstation service right now you can replay the original!

All the stages starting from the crumbling castle get worse and worse imo. They get less fun to play and have steadily less good music. This boss was kinda mediocre. The game doesn't really lend itself well to boss fights. I still really loved it overall though.
