This need to be re done. The idea was to make box Mac how you’d make in school and show how you’d elevate it in your dorm. Not make Mac and cheese with just the noodles from the box
Facts! I would have microwaved some bacon, chopped it up, added it in there with some extra cheese, seasoning, and maybe some bread cumbs on top and it would have been bomb! In a pinch you can even use bacon bits.
If you want to go a little healthy you can use broccoli instead of the bacon.

This didn't even make any sense. Are you buying boxed Mac and cheese and not using the cheese sauce or powder?Do they throw it out and waste money? Do they not know you can just buy the box of pasta on its own?

@@copperblaze22 I love the pasta in the Kraft boxed macaroni and cheese, but I can't find that kind of macaroni on its own. So there are times when I will use just the pasta. I do, however, keep the cheese for other things.

Justice for Zaire!!! What’s the difference between this and your other Mac n cheese episode if they didn’t use the cheese packet included ? If you only use the noodles then you did not make Box Mac n cheese. Poor Zaire, once he saw that everyone else ditched the cheese package, then he was toast.

I'll agree with y’all but I think the rules should have been more specific. Using an oven and not using all the contents in the box should have been explicitly stated to be against the rules. Microwave or pots only.

These kids are different. Why not just buy macaroni? I was expecting stove top Mac and cheese from the box using all ingredients and just added extra spice, protein, and/or veggies like peas or tomatoes. This was a painful bake macaroni and cheese contest.
The only extra thing I did with mac n cheese in college was use the powder to make a roux with cream cheese. Never had time or patience to bake it, this needs a redo with people who can actually follow instructions

What was the point of calling this a college box mac and cheese challenge when they only had to use the pasta from the box? Dry pasta is the same everywhere whether it comes from the mac and cheese box or another Italian brand pasta. I thought the challenge was to make the cheap box struggle mac and cheese taste better by adding ingredients to elevate it to the level of restaurant quality. No one really did that, and everyone but Zaire cheated on the basic basis of the challenge itself.

I got to give it to Zaire. The others only used the macaroni. You can elevate the boxed mac 'n cheese, but go through the initial process of making actual boxed mac 'n cheese first. Then, whatever additional things you do to it.
Also, I'm sure most people didn't have ovens, but some dorms do actually have them in the kitchenettes or community kitchens. I had one but it was a privilege that certain students got, almost sorta like an honor student's type thing. All dorms didn't have them.

The secret to my cup Mac and cheese in my college days was a little black pepper for some razzle dazzle and some frozen broccoli if I'm feeling fancy (cooked all together in my microwave). I mostly ate at the caf' my freshman year, so this was my go-to snack (or cup noodles with some frozen corn 😂). At least I was being healthy ish 😅
