Good grief, I thought Diggy Diggy Hole peaked when Wind Rose did their cover, then RichaadEB and John did their cover and I was thrilled to see my favorite CZcams artists getting in on the act. Now waiting for the premier, I can't wait to see what variation of Irish / metal music Colm will apply to the classic meme.
After the premier: Fantastic addition to the Diggy Diggy Hole collection! I love how the penny whistle stands out. I hope Simon and Lewis see this.
Side note: I'm glad so many people are pairing this with Deep Rock Galactic (rock and stone y'all). It's actually the more natural home for the song rather than it's Minecraft origins.

Clamavi de profundis also released one. It's definitely in a different style to this rock or metal covers, but very, very good.
Deep Rock Galactic and diggy diggy hole do pair together quite well. small dwarfs, large guns, even bigger bugs. what else would they be singing to get through the day?
The game the song best pairs with is Dwarf Fortress, which is all about building a dwarf fortress, and where digging too deep is a risk that many players have overcome, to the point of Colonizing Hell.

Was playing a dwarf in D&D last night and while at the tavern I started singing "I am a dwarf and I'm drinking my beer. Drinky drinky beer. Drinky drinky beer."
To me, this feels like the greatest mix of the various Dwarf Holes of time. You have the Nordic inspiration and similar performance to the original, the instrumentals and similar breakdown of Windrose's cover, the metal accents and sick guitar from Jonathan Young and RichaadEB's cover, and the right amount of zest and spin that Colm brings to every cover.
I was anticipating this cover to be my favorite, and Colm did not disappoint. What a grand time!

This song is legendary because it carries the same energy and feel that "Uncle Sam" or "Yankee Doodle" did. You just know "Diggy Hole" was a taunt made by the knife-ears to make the dwarves sound like childish little mole men, and the Dwarves took it and ran with it.
Also Celebrimbor and Narvi definitely sing this together.

12-ish years ago, I was a kid who watched minecraft videos religiously, Diggy Diggy Hole(the original 30 second bit from Shadow of Israphel) was one of my favorite little jokes that was always tucked away in my head. For 12 years I have watched that 30 second bit become several remixes, a full version, and a metal version by Windrose, and then many many covers built on top of that. There's something heart warming about just how big that one little joke has become.
