I've lived in South and Southeast Asia for a good third of my life now, and I have never met a soul who eats noodle adjacent food with their fingers 😂 And there is an art to eating with your hands, your thumb becomes a kind of shovel. It takes practice to do properly and not sloppily.

In Sri Lanka they have string hoppers which are noodles but they are formed into an oval shape and so are ,Cush easier to eat with your hands

Was the spaghetti guy raised in a barn and fed with the cows and chickens? I'd have excused myself to go to the loo, handed some cash to the waiter and left.
Au contraire Mr. Etiquette, Mr. North is right! There are many cultures that do eat with their hands. Many African/Ethiopian,Indian, Indonesian cultures do in fact do not use knife and forks. For example, The majority of traditional Ethiopian meals are consumed with the hands; a piece of injera is torn off and used to pick up a portion of food. A communal platter the size of a pizza pan is used for traditional meals.. There are number to list and not shaming William either, but I thought I would take the opportunity to correct this point.
Thank you. What we were discussing was whether noodles and long pasta are eaten with their hands, not whether hands are used to eat food in general, which they are - such as asparagus in the UK.
@@WilliamHansonEtiquette, I am of Chinese descent and we do not eat noodles with our hands. Traditionally, we eat noodles with chopsticks but nowadays it is quite acceptable to to eat them with fork and spoon as well.
we use hands for eating but never noodles/spaghetti

I am a weird drinker...I don't like alcohol...
Now before you think I'm not a team player I will finish off a bottle of pink gin straight and still walk fine...but I'm so particular about booze. I hate anything dry...I can't drink vodka at all (I go totally doolally after 1) what does G&D taste like? I have both in my Amazon basket but I cannot until I know it's not dry and bitter and Herby and winey.
