I have sent you a email, hope it reaches you. 👍🏽
Great vid as usual, it takes me ages to get through them as I stop and look at all these location, I love the info and prices (AUD) you put in as it helps me to plan where, how and costs. I am retiring early soon and Koh Phangan 3/4 months of the year is on the top of my list.
I do the same and I save most of them in Google maps 😄
Top Thailand vlogger.....
Thai people are the best!
Another great vlog-about!
Thanks for sharing, STL!
I forgot my sunglasses at a beach restaurant, they gave me back (1 week later) when I visited them again. It was at Khao Lak, Mama Lek restaurant.
Nice one Francis. I had an iPhone returned by a Taxi driver, also have had 7-11 clerks chasing me up the street with forgotten change or goods, plus all sorts of other random niceness in Thailand
Another awesome video. I really enjoy your content and presentation.
It is very nice to hear John Denver music again especially in Thailand . and the strip
Are beautiful I enjoyed watching your experience traveling in Thailand.
Koh Samui is a paradise of sandy beaches and palm trees at every turn, a tropical island in the Gulf of Thailand that's definitely worth a visit.
So cool, enjoyed this a lot 👍🏻🙏🏻🇨🇭
Saw Bowie once in Edmonton.
I appreciate him now.
I look forward to visiting Koh Phangan.
Thanks for the video.
My all time fav live recording was in Edmonton: czcams.com/video/GPlf09nVgWk/video.html
Sadly, RIP Gary Brooker: czcams.com/video/QKD34qQX1h8/video.html
Hiya, great tour around as always. Always great information. Along with beautiful views along the way. Thanks for sharing. Love Bowie. Hope you had a great weekend.
TY kindly Nicky (amazed you have any extra time between your yummy cooking channel and super-mod duties ;) My fav Bowie live performance: czcams.com/video/yTzcaEpvQec/video.html

Years ago we accidentally left a small suitcase on the bus from BKK to Pattaya and was very happy and surprised that later that day when the bus returned it was still there! Very Grateful! Love your style, music choices and of course the Mynah:) We will be there in April. Thanks STL and keep them coming please:)
Thanks Happy Wealthy, may you be both
Good video thank you for sharing.
i love thailand
Thanks for checking in STL - everything seems damn fine as usual - great work - I know it’s tough - hang in there mate 🍻😎😬👍🙏👌
note: I *always* take the ferry's . more time on the water is Always a value add.
I really enjoy your videos and find them very useful when I’m planning a trip to Samui and Koh Phangan, so thank you for that 🙏🤩 Love to get to know the area more 🙏😍
Fantastic travel review as usual! Keep up the great work!
Love your attitude towards travelling , so many vloggers knock the places they visit but I've never heard or seen you speak anything but positive of the places you visit
@John Shores Thanks John. In the very rare instance I had say a poor meal or even rarer encountered a less than helpful local, I just leave it out. I figure everyone can have a bad day, or prepare an off meal once in a while, etc, etc. Moreover I really don't sweat the small stuff muchless make a thing about it, just shrug, smile and move on, simple. For the other 99% of the time, I'm loving every minute and feeling very grateful to be here. Cheers, STL
I left a jar of instant coffee in a 7-11 in Karon once, they ran after me down the road to make sure I got it back 😀. Absolutely loving the content ❤️
Nice :) I too have been chased up the street by lovely 7/11 staff after forgetting items on the counter lol
@@SideTripLife ❤️
One day soon I will be dancing the fandango on Koh Samui. Thank you for the vids!
Giddyup Bal :)
Awesome
Well STL that was a welcome distraction from relentlessly watching two weeks of absolutely horrific European news )-: The dedication at the end noted and much appreciated. PS. Yes many years of great stories of THAI people SERVICE and them going far ABOVE and far BEYOND. What a BEAUTIFUL people and a BEAUTIFUL country. For both countries mentioned, as BOB DYLAN sings ... "May your wishes all come true. May you always do for others
And let others do for you
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung
May you stay forever young
Forever young, forever young
May you stay forever young"
Aww love your videos
Nice resort, looks fantastic and I love BBQ food.
Thanks! That was a great review. Was on Phangan and Samui in the late
80's. That was when 500 Baht = $20 USD. Great to see they're still fun places. Greetings from Sarasota,
FL., on the Southwest Florida Suncoast.
Red, you're so lucky to have seen Samui in the 80's, must've been amazing! (doubly lucky to live in Sarasota Florida:) Fortunately there's still many quiet chill places around Samui but no longer the days of Charlies huts 250 baht right on Chaweng beach... (will be looking at the beaches next vid btw). Meanwhile, just across the way is this place which may remind some of Samui 20 years ago: czcams.com/video/DBGT4xhLJmQ/video.html
We often watch a sunset from the Secret Gardens webcam, nice to see the whole place x
Fun place with DJ and live music Wed, Friday and live music at their Sunday Night Sessions. My girlfriend and I live in Pattaya but just spent a month on Samui in Bangrak and it was one of our places for a drink. I occasionally look at their Webcam too.
You've sold me on the benefits of staying on Bangrak beach!
Another great video with lots of information in it. I do not share your obsession with Tabasco though. I'm not fond of really spicy food but I love Thai food and I ask for it with less kick. The two friends of mine who would love to go to Thailand with me are a different story. I'm sure they would even consume lava given a chance.
You have an interesting channel, I would like to subscribe to it. Glad to have met you. See you soon
AWESOME AWESOME AND .... did i mention, awesome? ;-) I'm back to the lady of... well... Awesome on Saturday (test'n'go) SO catching up on your vids and planning my next 2 months of... yeh,.. awesome Travel!!! first trip? TRAIN! :-)
CONGRATS to you and Gracie :) Train? Choo-Choo giddyup!
@@SideTripLife thank you sir. Lemme know if you want to connect when I'm back. Tim Hortons? LOL. Be well :-)
Your vlogs from Phangan and Samui are my absolute CZcams highlights. There is one other Thailand streamer i love the vlogs from the north -> Planet Doug. A Canadian in the north of Thailand. Totally different life style, but i love both. Thanks
Thanks ArtDealer, will check out his channel.
Great Vid again... Enjoy your new resort. Hi again from Summerland. Chock De :)
Thanks kindly, love Summerland BC too :)
re: driving to find you and give you your charger. Happened at BKK Bagels righ there by Phmoen Chit AND in Rayong when I started walking away from the Coffee shop AND they even called the lady at the bus station I was walking towards to had the lady from the bus station AND the ladies from the coffee shop BOTH driving towards me to tell me they had my charger. Then (of course) the lady from the bus station had me hop on the back of the motorbike and took me to the bus. AND once when leaving Koh Phangan on the 6am boat, I was running late (and quite literally RUNNING to catch the boat before it pulled away). I get to the boat and have my printed "ticket" or so I thought. Nope - was the voucher/receipt for the ticket. I turn and starting Running back to that ticket window (that you stood in line for) one of the guards hops on his motor bike, pulls up along side, takes me to the ticket window. waits. takes me back to the boat. I begged him to take a tip (i think it was only like 100 baht) but they all held their hands up and smiled - wouldn't take it. As i am walking onto the boat that massive door on the front starts raising and the captain give a few short blasts of the horn and we are pulling away. Ok.. that was a pretty long answer to "Yeh, that's happened to me a.k.a. I LOVE THAILAND!" 🙂
Wonderful! Thanks for sharing :)
Thanks again for the download, it’s looking pretty good with the tourists slowly coming back. Here in Vietnam the borders are supposed to open on 15 March, but we have had a lot of Covid after Tet . 170 thousand a day so I’m not sure what the government have planed . The thing is they keep their cards very close to their chests and not a lot of information comes out . Take care .
Vietnam was bound to see a bump after TET but #s and serious outcomes should begin to fall very soon as elsewhere, here's hoping Sid.
Thank you for more super travel reviews , I would love to hear more about the Apple laptop and its performance ! Enjoy and stay safe ...
Thx Karl. The M1 chip makes the Macbook Air a game changer. Even with base 8 MB it's easily TWICE as fast as my MB Pro 16 GB. I've actually filmed a review but haven't had time to put it together yet (may post it after thus series). Btw, M2 should come out soon but the M1 is already way fast.
@@SideTripLife Thank you , I look forward to see your full review ! Thank you all the great and well done content you give us ! Enjoy and keep them coming ...
I don't like reggae
I love it!
:) :)
a friend of mine left her GoPro in our room in Had Yao Villa. 20 minutes after came 2 angels on bikes just like in your video returning the GoPro. Phangan is the best.
Nice :) Thanks for sharing
Thanks!
WoW! Super THANKS!
Wonderful video
Thank you Jorgen
Can`t beat a bit of Bowie...... Boy you are having a great time.... :-))
Yep, live in Berlin 2002: czcams.com/video/yTzcaEpvQec/video.html
@@SideTripLife I was using "Boy" as a term of endearment..... You are a top Geezer... :-))))) I am called Shirley because I used to have Blonde curly hair and Blue eyes.. like Shirley Temple... and the body of a Greek God.... Now it is more like Buda.... :-))
Hey, what do you expect!? You force me to watch all your videos to the end... So what do you think I do? I come up with a revenge plan. Booking all the rooms in all the hotels you have been to and liked, just so you cant go back there! I have to work day and night to afford it, but it is worth it!
Jonas! Lol
Ext time in BKK buy a decent bottle of hot sauce. To as o is the bottom of the barrel. Nice vid
Lk M another scoville addict I see... ;) Usually bring a bottle of Carolina Reaper Chilli Sauce with me but forgot this time
Hi 👍
Great Video. I love your Channel. Bowie forever 👍💜

21:55 did you hear the train a-coming? 😀
Yep and if some "Ain't Seen The Sunshine Since I Don't Know When", hopefully it's "Rollin' 'Round The Bend" and soon :)
remember, red moon, fishermans village.
you will not be disapointed.
say hello from sara and pat, you will love it.
Thanks Sara & Pat :)
Enjoyed watching your video. We'll be in Koh Samui for 3 days in October then would like to visit Phuket for 3 days as well especially Sunday night market. We really really look forward to going there in October! Is there a speedboat from Koh Samui to Phuket. Thank you!
Hi Kristen, As Phuket is on the West Coast and Samui on the East Coast you will need to take a Van, Bus or Plane from Samui to Phuket. It is a nice drive too so enjoy!
hi from Türkiye 🇹🇷 🤟
Top class as normal. I am only back up North from KPG and am planning on moving to your resort as Seetanu bungalows only have fan room for April too hot and too old for that torture. But hopefully by May I will have my own place sleep in good luck with your travels love your vids.
Thanks Colin. Not a fan of no fans either (esp in April). Should be more a/c avail in May at Seetanu, fantastic place.
@@SideTripLife I agree I base myself there all the time. It suits my needs quite at night lots of nice places to eat etc. I am trying to do a deal with Phangan Cabana for 2 months my own place will hopefully be finished than. Thanks again for your video and easy going personalty u suit island life Chilled.
@Colin C - As it's for 2 months, recommend trying to get one of Cabana's apt style rooms vs the reg small rooms. I may return in May/June, perhaps we will cross paths in the future.
@@SideTripLife That sounds cool.
I had planned a 2 months booking but my wife and son were coming down for 2 weeks and we have a small poodle dog. I just got no dogs welcome in the Inn lol. So probably go book Seetanu Bungalow like before 😆 familiar surroundings.
Hi there i love your videos and have been watching quite abit of them,, I like your voice and energy to..buut i do wonder,,about the beds in all of those places, I was in thailand twice and the beds where like stones,,for a person like me,who have bad back problems ,,is there any soft beds around anywhere ? Would be nice to know also ..I know many like to sleep on hard beds but i just cant i need it soft. Is there any chiropractors around anywhere ? I want to go to thailand for a month but i am scared about the beds lol,, Lots of virtual hugs from a girl in Denmark 🥰
love Thailand , check out Moonhuts at Mae nan.
I've stayed at the Secret Garden Twice. Great place. Hopefully they have better mattresses these days, they were terrible in the past ! Other than that a great experience both times...
Can confirm mine was heavenly
As with all of your island videos, wonderful.
My question is why do you live in Bangkok ? You are 100% an island boy.
MOVE 😁
Thank you Tim, trying! Just have things to wrap up and also to kick off in Krungthep.
Hey! Good video man, last resort has a good internet for work? I need to work some days during night, it's a quiet place for that?
WiFi was decent. But best to also get an unlimited 10Mbps simcard on arrival then can tether to laptop etc anywhere
Hi Side trip guy. Question - where would you recommend staying based on following - retired Canadian couple looking to escape our winters. Avid scuba hiking walking. Love good food but like quiet.
Hi guys. Top dive spots are in the Andaman Sea off Phuket. So if you also want quiet, on the West side Khao Lak might suit, or on the East side Krabi or Koh Lanta perhaps. There's also nice diving off Koh Tao, it may be a bit more limited but absolutely lovely and can island hop. Best to spend time in both areas to see which suits. Enjoy! STL
🌹🙏🌹
Hi, can you check on my house and land when you're back in Khanom? I haven't seen it in 2 years now... interesting how everything looks and the development going around.
Not certain when my next visit to Khanom will be but definitely want to return sometime upcoming. Hopefully you can get back soon too.
@@SideTripLife ok no worries.
Any chance to see the villa, where Shane Warne stayed in his last time...
Sorry, no. With deepest respect to his family, Aussies and all Cricket fans everywhere. Seeing tributes globally, from the Lion's side also - Mick Jagger: "He brought such joy to the game and was the greatest spin bowler ever." RIP
Hi, where's the link to the Hua Hin RV Park?
Here: czcams.com/video/jfKFpziF-IA/video.html
Do you tip when you eat at restaurants in Thailand and if so what % do you tip?
Yes, min 10% usually more, so if 300 baht/60 baht etc. Also some refuse to leave tips at a place where tax/service fee is on the bill but many places do NOT pay staff the service fee. Up to the individual but I always tip.
@@SideTripLife Thanks for the info 👍
Hi what site do you use for booking a room ? Thanks
Hi. Hotel booking links are in the description below every video but in case any missed it: www.agoda.com/city/koh-samui-th.html?cid=1898974
@@SideTripLife Thanks for the tip, love your channel.
are clubs and restaurants open and till what time?
Most 'reg' bars close around 11-12 but some just keep on going. Suffice to say you can still stagger home in the wee hours if that's your thing. Tip: on Facebook if a place like say Black Bamboo Club in Chaweng says 'Open Till Late' this may be such a place...
I’m going n Koh Tao, now. What’s your favorite restaurant on Sairee Beach?
That's tough....spoilt for choice. In no order:
- The one at the end in this vid: czcams.com/video/S_Kg_EUjeZs/video.html
- 2 in this vid- one in middle and one at end: czcams.com/video/6b87uOf6_MA/video.html
Have a good one, enjoy Turtle Isle Mike
How can a restaurant or business on the islands have problems finding staff?
Must be plenty of locals in these times looking for a job. Aware of the Burmese normal influx, but still sounds strange.
Hi Viktor. Many staff went home during 'rona and have not returned. Also some found work back home and/or started or joined a family biz back home (have heard this from several biz owners who are seeking staff). Another big problem has been certainty, or lack thereof the past 2 years. Also in Thailand and on the Islands especially, Burmese make up a large portion of workers and Myanmar was no-go for 2 years. 1 million Burmese workers were 'registered' in Thailand prior to 'Rona so factor minimum 2X+ that # (in a population of 68 million with 38 million in the labour force, not counting Laos, Cambo etc migrant workers). Now, Burmese and upcountry Thais are both starting to return but apparently construction companies in Bangkok are paying 3000 Baht/$100 bonuses or more to brokers and/or new staff to sign on and many are doing that instead (+higher wages, transport fees and also free housing or subsidy, etc). So, the labour shortage particularly in the hospitality industry and especially on the Islands continues.
David BOW ee?
Must be my Canadian eh. Ok, correction, BOH-wee (or Jones;)
So much to "Top Secret" 🤣🤣🤣!!!
Shhh! ;) STL
