Should only be allowed to fish for them with hand lines single hook stuff the nets to much by catch long lines are just as bad.

Man kills everything they touch. The cod fishing was overfished to almost extinction. The same thing happened to the west coast king salmon fishery. Back in the 1980s you could catch big salmon over 30 pound. They fishing trip s at 6am 10am and 2pm for king salmon fishing. Now we keep a 22 inch salmon. 4 or 5 pounds. On west coast the king salmon and striper fishery will never be the same as the 1980s. Poor fisher management.

i hope people learn to not over fish cod, or anything really, so that everybody's happy, the fish are happy, the crabs and lobsters are happy, and people are happy.

I was in Newfoundland in the late 80's at our base in Argentia. Some friends and I went on a cod jigging charter. They take you out into the Atlantic and set you up with a 200lb test line and a lead lure shaped like a fish with a treble hook on the tail. Drop it to the bottom, pull up 3' and start jigging. We caught 600lb of cod in 3 hours. Had a huge cod bake back on base.

You couldnt catch cod off any beach in cape cod if your life depended on it

There will be plenty of lobsters and crabs to catch if they don't stop catching cod.
