Uranium GLASS is different than pure uranium. Don't eat or drink out of uranium glass items and it's fine.
You can safely eat and drink out of uranium glass as long as it's not broken in any way. I deal in antique and I sell uranium some of my pieces go back to 1830. I even have a necklace that I wear often that's made out of broken uranium pieces as long as it's away from your mouth your ok. 💚
I loved her freak out over mod podge and uranium glass tho! 😂 I feel like so many of us are collectively saying things to her as we watch all the time! ❤
And I think the radiation has, give or take, a 6 inch radius? That’s something a friend who collects things told me. I’m not sure how true that is tho.

Uranium glass is basically harmless especially in such a small amount. People collect it and have cabinets full of the stuff.

Yes! They used to make dishes out of it, and you can sometimes find them in thrift stores. In fact people take small flashlights like the one in the video to the stores SPECIFICALLY looking for the glowing pieces, and they can be worth a lot of money at auctions if you find rare pieces!
The red skirt probably doesn't have pockets because its a straight skirt so would be very obvious if you had something in your pocket and would probably stick out on one side. The other skirt has shape to it so would be easier to hide something in the pocket without making it obvious.
Hey Colleen, I think that that rock could be a jet stone, which, in my culture (Cuban), we call Azabache! It’s actually a very powerful talisman for warding off “mal de ojo” or the evil eye, and usually we make jewelry out of it, which our babies wear until they’re at least a year old. If you wanted a rock that was the epitome of “haters back off,” that’s it lol

I'm so thrilled you read my comment. My cat who I've had for 15 years is slowly dying. She has now stopped eating and the vet said we can only make her happy now. I go to cry in the bathroom away from my 8 year old. So this was a nice surprise

I have a uranium glass ring, its very cool. They used to make a lot of glassware with it but its fallen out of practice now so its actually not the easiest to find these days. Collectors snatch those items up very quickly! Cool that you have a piece even if its small!

I left a comment on one of your vlogs from a few days ago about how much I am happier you're back and that youre doing the cancer fundraiser is extra emotional for me this year. My boyfriend got diagnosed with leukemia back in April and has seemed to be doing pretty well but we got some unfortunate news yesterday. Turns out they are not happy with how he has been responding to his current meds so he is most likely going to have a bone marrow transplant and be in the hospital for a month and could be stuck by the hospital for 2-3 months (about a 8-10 hour drive away). Also, it's pretty likely he is going to be put on a much more intense chemotherapy. His current one is just a targeted pill which gives him some body aches and fatigue but not he close to the possible radiation he may be put on. I am so thankful for these vlogs back because they will help me a lot
I pray for him . The chemo's the worst. Take good care and I hope he beats it. Giving bone marrow is rough, but getting it is just an I.v. easy.This is close to my heart because my sister went through it bone marrow was a success but sadly chemo took her. 1992. Things have advanced so much that it's not like it was then. She was 36. Sorry to alarm you just truth. Things are much more advanced now his chances will be good. Best of luck stay strong .
Sending strength! I just finished 16 rounds of chemo after getting diagnosed in April with advanced breast cancer. My kids are the same age as Colleen's but I've found the strength to get up & take care of them despite the chemo side effects. We can do hard things!
Thank you so much, I really do appreciate this. Back when he was diagnosed he had to get a bone marrow biopsy in the back of his hip and was in the worst pain he has ever been in. I'm happy hearing other people's stories because it helps me know I'm not alone. @@JoanieBowers

Uranium glass is glass which has had uranium, usually in oxide diuranate form, added to a glass mix before melting for colouration. This generally means that there are no negative health impacts when you handle the glass correctly.
is that like alcohol burning off when you use it in cooking? adds flavor (color) but the "poison" is no longer there?
I read that it is indeed radioactive, but very low grade and not threatening unless it's (it, meaning the sea glass) used to make mugs or plates and stuff that might make it be ingested, otherwise the levels of radiation coming from it is less harmful than a phone or a microwave oven or other appliances from around the house...

It's "only" uranium glass, not the actual stuff and not as dangerous. Metals can be used to colour glass: Crystal is made with led, but isn't poisonous and red glass gets it colour through adding gold!
Uranium glass is totally fine to touch. Many years ago it was used to make colorful glasses & dishes. They’ve turned into collectors items now. I wouldn’t recommend eating off of it just for safe measure lol. But supposedly it gives off no more radiation than a cellphone would, but I’m also not a scientist 🤷🏽♀️😅😂

I want whatever you want to share. It feels like you are back from the dead. I am living for all of it! I just want you to know how much I truly appreciate that you are back, and I grieved the loss of your daily vlogs like a real person in my life because I knew that you had to do what was good for you. But when you left, I needed something else and I found rocks and crystals and gems and spiritual path that has led me to more self growth than I’ve ever done before in my life and to know that in my heart, I know you did that as well along with me at the same time I am thankful for those moments that you are now showing us of those times that you were going through the same things that I was going through over this because I felt your feelings because it feels like I know your heart. I never thought of you as a monster I think you’re a beautiful human and a wonderful mother, and I think I’m not the only one who feels this way, the past is the past you can’t undo it and you’ve grown a lot and I see that ❤

My (“only”) twins are 18 and back at their colleges after being home for Thanksgiving. Wesley reminds me so much of my boys (right down to his cute mushy-mouthed pronunciation!). It’s lovely to see Maisy & Wes interact. Brings back so many memories. 📚🛻💕
Apache tears loose the white when tumbled. I got many of them from the area the stone originated in AZ. When I tumbled them they came out black like yours. My great Aunt me and my daughter were rock hounds and did tumbling. Great hobby

I freaking LOVE Mulberries! They don't really grow too well here in Florida but one of my best friends growing up randomly had a few bushes in their backyard (basically the story was the previous owner of the house tried to have an epic garden set up but then gave up...and like right after they moved out everything just grew epically fast so there were mulberries, loquats, watercress all the interesting fruits and veggies)

Three things...first, I'm SO happy to see your family thriving with love and joy and silliness; and truly relieved to see you are finding things that spark joy and wonder.
I'm not sure why I'm feeling the need to share these next two, but maybe the Taylor connection amongst Swifties will be appreciated. So second, my nine-year-old daughter and I were SO pumped to be able to have the Eras Tour experience through the movie, we spent an entire week leading up making all kinds of friendship bracelets. Then we handed them out, with absolute delight, to couples, and friend groups, and dads dancing/shouting just as loud as their kids! Taylor knew we all needed some collective friendship craftiness!
And third, my husband has always appreciated her music, but was never a "fan." He was excited to go with me because he wanted to see for himself all the things my daughter and I always go on about (uh, that concert - even only seeing it in a movie theater - was the most epic thing I've ever seen!) Welp... he left that movie the happiest and proudest Swiftie! Now we are even listening to each album, in order, and he's such a proud-parent Swiftie!
Oh, and loving the rock content! Wishing you all a beautiful rest of the year. ♡

I call it "Modge Podge" too! Also I love finding out some of the "mystical" properties, or meanings of the stones so I can figure out what they are associated with, Rose Quartz is one of my favorites and it represents unconditional love, self love, and helps with inner healing. I think it is amazing that you are connecting with the rocks so much because it truly shows us that in out times of need "Mother Earth" is looking out for us and sending us messages through rocks. One you always bring up is Agate, and while there are many types of agates, the overall meanings I have found for agate are, Boosting emotional endurance, clearing the body of toxic and negative energy, and encouraging self-confidence and self-acceptance. Which if you ask me found you at a perfect time and I love that you use your rocks in something that means so much to you when you craft with them it brings a sense of connection and bringing the energy in and using it in meaningful ways!
TTQ: how are your home renovations coming along? I just bought my first house and seeing that the curtains in your kids bedrooms are still the same even though you wanted to change them makes me feel better about taking on projects one at a time.

i just remember something super random. I remember in a relax podcast, a long time ago, You and Erik were talking about Duffle bags and where the name came from. I HAVE THE ANSWER! Believe it or not, i am from a small town in Belgium called DUFFEL. And our town is "known for" the Duffel coat and its typical closing (a wooden button and a string). I used to think that the fabric was made in our town but i dont think thats true, but the name did get it's origin in our town. And i believe Duffle bags used to be made from the same fabric, and thats where it's got it's name! We have a statue of a duffel coat on one of our roundabouts and our towns logo is that typical closing.They're pretty proud of it over here LOL
