- GoPro has relaunched its mobile video editing app, now called Quik (instead of GoPro Quik). In this video, I tell you about 5 new features in the app (themes, filters, speed ramping, and more). I also attempt to edit a real travel vlog and video using Quik on my smartphone.

Just thought I would let you know that if you want to post on youtube and not have a copyright issue, then please use only the "Gopro Originals" sound tracks. Using any other sound track will land you up in copyright issues. Have faced this personally - hence putting up this comment. Tons of these issues discussed in gopro forums. By the way - your video is what got me started on the Quik App. Fantastic work. Really appreciate it.

Thanks for going into what this app can do. I’ve never edited a video, only photos. So my learning curve is really wide. I just got my GoPro Hero9 a few days ago, and I’m just finding it hard to get started.
Editing video like with color correction and cropping is similar to photos. But the sequencing of clips is definitely quite different. I find it easier to learn video editing on a desktop computer software like Final Cut. On mobile, Power Director is a great app for straightforward video editing.

Thank you very much for this informative Vlog, just started to use this new version and am very impressed with it as well as the feature suite you've gone into too, very helpful and informative. During the next few weeks will spend more time editing current footage and learning more about it. I also have DJI Fly App, which is also very intuitive, easy to use, can also use with either your smartphone or dji drone and did a new video with it today, so it'd be really interesting to compare the 2 editing apps.

There are a number of reasons, from your voice and its cadence to your usage of pointers (like arrows etc.) that really really help me to comprehend the usage of the tech. I try with other such tutorials/teachers and often they don't have the same effect, i.e., I'm not able to grok or retain the information. How do you edit color on the desk top version? OMG to use my phone as a video editor is NUTS! I have underwater film that needs to be colored adjusted and I can't figure out a way to make that happen. IDEAS? Thanks
Great video, lots of cool features explained very clearly and in a logical sequence but ( like you) prefer doing editing on a desktop or laptop as a minimum.. it’s great to see what’s possible tho.. and speaking of that.. is it possible to export any of the royalty free audio from the Quik app? Or better yet.. the desktop version of Quik?
That's a good question. I don't think there is an easy way to export the music, but you could e port it via a video and then clip/cut the music. It's roundabout, but would work.

I have been trying to upload a 3 min video to youtube from the app and always says that it can not be downloaded. I did it in 4K but I also change the upload to 1080P and the result was the same. Do you have any recommendation for long videos with the app?

On some of the latest Android and Iphones, after you are satisfied with the editing, how good does the rendering look on a video that is about 2 min long with 4k 30? Not sure if I heard you speak in terms of rendering quality, not sure if I did miss that, thank you
Good question. I did together talk about rendering quality. I think it is okay -- you can see the sample footage in the video. They were originally shot in 4K30 and rendered through the app.

I noticed when I had a video over 7 minutes long, I wanted to edit the video with a title, music, and so forth but it only gave me 1:30 fron the 7 minute long video? So is there a app I can use like the Quik app to edit and keep my 7 minute long video?

Drone will auto split the video every 4GB. I see there are lots of small video clips when to output the shooting footage, what should I do If I want a full-length video?
Can you move a mural made on the quick pro app to a youtube channel?
I mostly use my GP10 for scuba diving. When we dive I have to use a 3rd party app to correct the color so I download the GP footage to iPhone photos and correct the color once it’s downloaded to my phone.
But when I try to upload the videos from my phone back to Quik in order to use the AI to create a highlight video I’m unable to do so.
Thanks for the tutorial. I just got the new Hero 10 and tried editing with it. It seems to start off well, but I'm getting long periods of a black screen with only music playing towards the end of my video. Is anyone else experiencing this? I did notice that when I try to trim the video, there are some red dots among the green dots at the bottom. I wonder if this has anything to do with it?
It did happened with my Note 10+. Now that I've switched to iPhone 13 PM, I haven't encountered the problem anymore. My take is that, it's because of the resolution in which the GPU and Processor of the phone couldn't handle.

How do you change the edit transitions? Instead of using the auto selection, you use choose what is shown and transition?
I don't think you can change transitions in the templates.
how do I edit without using the automatic edit? If I use mural does it automatically do the automatic edit??

Yes, all of the Quik app editing is done on a mobile device, either a phone or tablet.

We think if has the best video and audio quality of any action cameras.
Usually I would use the Quik app for IG vids of a full vid. It’s really for short vids. Manualy selecting highlights is a must. It’s best to use music with beats to take advantage of the software transitioning on beats.
You don’t even need a GoPro to use their separate Quik app(not GoPro Quik)

@@smileagainjamaicacharityfo3522 there are 2 separate apps. GoPro Quik has remote GoPro control via Bluetooth and also has Quik built in. The Quik app is just the video editing that anyone can use.

Yeah, they seem to be theme specific, which is kinda weird. I like choosing my own transitions.

How do we tell GoPro to give us a little more control on transitions and highlights. Hopefully, they can fix that on the next 3.0 version. I love the new update.
There are forums on the GoPro website, but hard to say if GoPro takes any feedback seriously.
Question how do you keep your original audio and gopro's music at the same time? All of my edits remove the sound when gopro's music plays
Go to volume and select "mix" You will get both sound, camera & background music. You select "off" you get only music & if you select "boost" you get only camera 🔊sound

Yes, but don't think you can export in 5K from the app.
