Wow! The floors are amazing. I can only imagine the work and time that was necessary to compete this. The video is also amazing; however, I hope viewers appreciate the time, skill, and effort this process took. The white floors makes the space so bright from the sun light coming though the windows. I appreciate your hard work in creating these videos.
I love these “behind the scenes” and “made live” videos. They help me realize that you guys are human after all. - even though your work sometimes appears “superhuman”! I wonder (since I have absolutely NO INTEREST in making over an old farmhouse - or any other house) I was GLUED to CZcams for every single video in your 1917 series. I don’t go “junking”, but many of your WNW send me digging through my garage for long lost junk!
Obviously, I love watching what you do - wish I lived closer- I would gladly VOLUNTEER to work for FREE in your new “churchified” store. I’m 80 years old and I’m always telling friends about your YT channel. Two of my favorite possessions are the two candlesticks that Zeb turned “for me!

I wish I had the nerve to paint my floors white. Mine are a grey/beige. We used a good Behr porch paint but it hasn't held up well. Been about 3 years. Only 2 old folks and a dog and cat. We have plenty of paint left and our goal is to get the floors done again by Christmas decorating. I have a curtain on my kitchen cabinet but the cat knocked it down on a rod so ours is nailed up. I have changed it out twice. I am able to use a single panel kitchen curtain so each time I get 2 uses as it is a small cabinet. We store our kitchen towels in a large basket and large pots not in use much in that cabinet. I love how your floors turned out. Refreshing things is always in the cards. We just got new slipcover for sofa and new Fall quilts for bedroom. It is always fun to make changes.

The floor looks amazing!!
Oil based enamel, you can not beat it for floors! Painted many with it & it holds up well! I took a different color after the solid color & a roof & tar brush & swiped the darker color in to make it look like wood. You could do that with a gray over the white & make it look like barn wood. It also hides the imperfection well. But it looks great the way it is! The drying time is long but why it drys so hard.
Funny story we did it in squares using the oil based enamel once & everybody had to walk on the light squares until the mint green squares dried. And then visea versa. It worked good for me, but hubbies feet where to big & he had to walk on his tippy toes! Lol. But the floor turned out amazing!

Looks awesome! A tip for you: on your island shelves, you can store things in tubs, like dish pan tubs, & then you can easily pull the tub out like drawers giving access to things all the way in back!! It's a real help! No need to get on floor searching for things in the back!

Enamel paint can be a pain to deal with but worth the effort. It looks amazing! I think you will find the simple shelf and new curtain update well worth the time and effort. I love how you keep it real. We all need that!

Looks FABULOUS! I use to use Valspar “Furniture Paint” BEFORE I starting using DIY paint. It last pretty good. But I have since covered everything with DIY Paint ❤️ I’ll be looking forward to your reviews on the floors! I also used “Outside Paint” for our bathroom/ laundry room and what is so great about that is you can see the grain on the shiplap with it…we love that 👍
How I love that Window you placed over the refrigerator ! That 6 pane , I don’t see many of those at all and those gourds…. Perfect! Love all your sheep figures too!
I use the felt pads and I think I replace them once a year…but that is just me and my husband! I’m sure with kids you will purchase them in BULK ! They do save the floors 👍

The only way for the enamel based paint to cure is to run a dehumidifier in there for awhile and and circulate the air with some big fans, until the humidity in the room drops. If you live where it gets cold now, the heat being turned on would also dry up the humidity pretty quickly.

Hey you guys, you're not the only ones that have corners that have things hidden or places where things are shoved in. I live in a house that was built in 1926, trust me there's not much storage space. Closets back in the day, where a luxury and I am lucky I even have the ones that I have. So don't feel bad about your storage under your Island. We all have those " skeletons in our closets".
