Your thought process was not so different than what happened often in a previous generation. We had a similar feeling (though not as definite or deliberate as you portray) 38 years ago, as did a several other couples that we knew well (that all remain very happily married now). Sadly that is more rare today, it is nice to see your story.

Thanks for your input! We took a few weeks with what takes most relationships at least a year to cover. God was in the details and we covered all Theological viewpoints, vision for life, every detail of our testimony and what God saved us from, our personalities, how we deal with conflict, etc…. When you wait on the Lord, things are made very clear, very quickly. When something is done in the flesh, there is a lack of peace and clarity.
Got married in 3 weeks. That was 15 years ago. God prepares us our whole life for a spouse. When you’re ready you’re ready. When she’s the one she’s the one. Have faith.
