I don’t know if that was your intention but the part that holds your pedal has to be mounted the other way round so that it’s right under your kick and then your pedal is able to hit the centre of the head. I own the blue sparkle one and put an emad on the kick an evans EC on the toms. It sounds thunderous at gigs and all sound guys are completely stunned when they hear it! Congrats!!

@@tinocalmbach694 I second that. I'm using an Emad on a 16" floor tom I converted to a kick drum and I love it! I was using a pinstripe which I thought sounded good until I got the Emad.

You got the Toms in a nice place tuning wise....snare as well. The kick looks to be the biggest challenge of the 4. Your playing is very tasteful.....im learning from you. Thanks for the vids. Cheers....

the Bass drum pedal suport , is in a wong position ... turn around ...and the pedal can stroke just in the middle of the Head Miss ...

Amazing drumming sounds!
I have the red sparkle version of this kit that I bought about 5 years ago. Mine came with an Evans Emad head on the kick drum and Tama Powercraft heads on the rest of the drums. I did not like the sound or quality of the stock heads on the toms & snare. So I went with Evans G2 Coated heads on these drums , and man, did they sound better! I’m amazed at how great these drums sound & how portable they are. By the way, you are an amazing drummer. I’m really impressed with your speed & precision.

I dig the snareweight (M1b / M80) on the rack tom. Thought your floor tom had an Evans EMAD on it at first, but it's a Big Fat Snare Drum "Steve's donut" by the looks of it? This set has a lot of ring to it out of the box and I dig the tone you're getting out of it with your mods.
(Writing this in case anyone else was trying to figure out what was resting on the skins)

Haha thanks, yeah there is a lot of ring in the TAMA Cocktail kit, especially not having any bottom heads, but I spent some time really working with the muffling to get the drums sounding good. You are correct I am using a Big Fat snare Drum, Steve’s Donut on the floor tom. 😃💯

Love your playing and all these compact alternative kit demos. Would you choose this kit over the Tama Club Jam Kit? I was in the process of piecing together a cajon based kit, but these two seem like ideal options for a small room, portable kit since I'm used to a traditional kit.
I like the Club Jam Mini better than the Cocktail, but both are cool in their own way. Just get both lol.

Dont like the sound of the kit but your chops are amazing.
Never really thought about but the beater isn’t hitting the middle of the bass drum but more like the edge. I wonder if you could get a longer one how much that would change the sound getting it to his more in the middle.

OMG... I have this kit... and I NEVER understood that you had to left the pad ON the top of the bass drum!! That makes SO much sense :O No wonder why it sounded like shit lmao

club jam has a fuller sound imo so probably not as good for home recording if volume is a concern but otherwise I'd go club jam
