What kind of leather would you recommend and what thickness?

Hi! For the actual bow tie, I recommend a medium temper chrome tanned leather (as it needs to be semi-stiff yet still pliable), with a thickness of around 4 oz. (1.6 mm). For the neck strap, a 6 oz. (2.4 mm) vegetable tanned leather would work great!
