I wasn’t the biggest Deion “prime time” fan during his playing days. But you had to respect his talent. Even before he became the JSU coach, when he talked football and broke down the game, you could see his teaching/coaching abilities were special. Watching him w his players shows the natural, authentic connection he has w this younger generation. Some say he changed the game as a player. I wouldn’t be surprised if his impact as a coach will be even greater.

Deon Sanders, i want to tell you, i love how you do your dance after scoring my son used to cherish you, he would do your dance, he just had been playing football about two weeks, my son was murdered when he was 12 years old, i never let him play football until Sept 1996 ,. he had played baseball and he played one year up, he was batting 80-90 when he was 8 years old. he also played basketball , he was a point guard , he averaged 32 points, rebound and steal and assist were all high. everytime i see you dance, i smile because it reminds me of him. thank you for all you do, you are so positive and supportive of all the kids. ednapmorris
My name is Coach Lincoln Phillips, former soccer coach at Howard university ( 1970-1980). Howard U is the first and “only” HBCU to have ever won an NCAA championship…not only once but twice! I am also the first Black to have won an NCAA Championship. My performance as one of the winningest coaches, on every level of soccer in the US is a matter of record. I don't even like football. Never played it, don't watch it. I watch Deion Sanders because he is a far more than a coach. He isn't just trying to not just build warriors, but productive citizens in all aspects of life. It's about more than football and this is why I watch him. Strong work coach!!!
I have deep reverence for Deion. It's clear to see that his gifts and talent transcends well beyond the football field and baseball diamond. He embodies what a modern day disciple probably looks like. A true game changer who continues to bring added value. This time around his drive seems to be geared more towards directly impacting lives and souls whenever he is afforded the opportunity to do so.
It's a wrap at a HBCU Homecoming.....exactly. I wish we can have this same skill and unity overalm with taking over educating our communities, our educational systems, HBCUs functioning overall, business ownership in hair, nails, tech, our own schools etc.
To do anything well requires discipline and practice. All of his kids in sports is no accident. Dad did some intentional training and I understand that clearly.
