- In 1919, the first Bettys Café Tea Room opened in Harrogate. Today, nearly 100 years on, Bettys has six Café Tea Rooms, a mail order service, a Cookery School and a Craft Bakery. We think our founder, Frederick Belmont, would be happy to see how his dream has grown.

The amazing shop window displays are my favourite part of Betty's.
Beautiful, brings back happy memories of afternoon tea and the lovely shop, the cream tote bag and the black and gold tea tin which I still have, I live in the South now and like Booths supermarket, nothing comes close to Northern epicurean delights! I miss the North so much.

I miss Betty's in Harrogate, it was lovely, and I still have the 1930s style gold and black tin shown briefly in the video! I live in the South now, and there's no tea room that comes close. I think it's a very Northern thing like Booths supermarket, can't really see it in the South.
