I want that 55 Chevy!!! Thanks for the tips. Just got a fiberglass hood for my 55. This information will help for sure. 👍🏼👍🏼
We have a 55 Chevy build coming to this channel any day! Already working on it 🤘
Thank you
Ive got a 4" glastek on order so glad I found this video I'm even more excited to get mine now. Do you have to paint or prime the hood? I can leave it bare and it'll be fine right?
IxIBluePitIxI If you are going to paint it I would definitely use good primer and paint. You can also leave it bare black gelcoat. Over time the gelcoat May lighten up from the sun.
Thank always wondered why I see some hoods that look weird and not fitting correctly, now I know ,
I’m going to be cutting the sides down a bit pretty soon. Is there a specific type of glue I need to use once I’m done cutting?
Just a question for you. I purchased a new truck and later found out it had been wrecked. I believe it has a aftermarket hood. Chevy Silverado 2500 4x4. Does GM manufactured parts have a stamped part number on them? What is the best way to tell if the hood is an aftermarket or manufactured?
what air intake you running? looks good
Thanks! It’s a 4” aluminum intake I made with vibrant mandrel bends.
What website did you get this one from? I need one for my tbss
Thanks for checking out the video! We get this one from the team over at Glasstek 😊
Are they durable. Great video..
For sure! And thank you!
What would you use to cut pr trim the edges with?
I always use a pneumatic cut off wheel. Works great!
Are dura flex hoods worth it?
No they’re trash. Get an Amerihood brand.
I feel like even 100yrs ago @ 15 putting my first aftermarket hood on....this kind of "detail" was common sense. But I reckon even 3yrs ago or when this video was posted..common sense wasn't so common. It's only gotten worse ; better do a follow up explaining that aftermarket hoods made of fiberglass are NOT meant to be crushed up and snorted
Haha for sure!
What will be the best websites to buy a cowl hood for a truck ? Need to know ASAP
Just depends on what type of truck it is and if you want steel or fiberglass. What truck do you have?
