In a civilised world one should expect the leader of a country to be a role model for its impressionable youth. There should be no question about the unsuitability of Trump for this crucial role.

For me opposing Dump was an easy decision. The way a person leads is function of their character. Dump’s character is clearly that of an arrogant, deceptive narcissist. That’s the kind of leader he was and the kind of leader he will be again if he gets back in office.

Until trump came along I had no idea there were so many people in this country that were so full of hate. I see the clips of his rally rants, which are little more than a litany of grievances, and hear the crowd cheer and applaud as verbally assaults one perceived enemy after another. He feeds off the crowd's approval and they feast on his vile, hateful rhetoric. It's quite a spectacle, but one I never thought I would see in this country.

I'm a born-again Christian from Queens, NY, whose politics lean left, and who has virtually always voted Democratic. Fortunately, my church has not gone the MAGA route; our membership runs across the political spectrum (as well as the racial and ethnic spectrum), and we try to promote learning to love well and to listen to each other's stories. I'm very grateful for your videos.
Now here's my question. I voted for Bill Clinton twice in the 1990s, and one can point out how he lied about adultery under oath. We knew he'd committed adultery before we voted for him. I don't know the extend of his lies, although I'm sure they're nothing like Trump's. You kind of started to do this already, but I wonder if you can take a few minutes to discuss the difference between voting for someone like Bill Clinton and voting for someone like Donald Trump. Thank you.

My take would be that the big distinction between BC and DT’s lying is that DT has totally and emphatically normalised it and has not, and never will, take any accountability for any harm and division it has caused in the nation. Besides the lying, there is of course also the narcissism, misogyny, name calling, bullying, hatred and racism that separates the two.

Wow! As someone who has become more of an agnostic in my middle age, it’s both refreshing and inspiring to hear your content break down so clearly, intelligently and insightfully what is going on today from a Christian perspective. Needless to say, genuinely Christian.
Which brings me to have more hope in our country and future. I vacillate between being all too aware of our current social and political climate, or being so immersed and distracted by my own personal bubble to recover from the former.
I am too guilty of forgetting, sometimes conveniently, that there are authentically kind and compassionate people of all stripes. But thankfully, I have you to remind me of this when I need it most.
If we are to really protect our country, we must believe in a courageous way that January 6, 2021 was the end of something sinister rather than the beginning of one.
In that I find hope enough of us will both believe and act on it.

I’ve shared your videos but the response one person has is a comparison of him to the current administration. While neither one was perfect I don’t understand why he is still the candidate when there was a chance to have someone else. There were a lot of people in the primaries. I watched the debates, he didn’t show up at & still he got the nomination. I live in a state that is at the end of the primary schedule & it was over before it got to us. The person I mentioned above actually said she didn’t care if he committed murder she would vote for him over the current administration because of the policies. I just can’t imagine any candidate having that much influence on someone. There have been times I have voted outside my party because I didn’t agree with how the candidate handled things. I am so glad I found this channel! I voted for Trump and married into a family who is hard core Trump supporters. I have since seen all of what you are saying. I am pro life through and through but I recently told my pastor that I don't know what's more evil, abortion or supporting a man thar Christians are deceived into worshipping. This movement is going all through my church too. My mother in law runs praise and worship in our church and she truly believes Trump is annointed and chosen by God to save this "covenant" nation. She has told me that her church duties have her so busy that she can't listen to our pastor and she turns to youtube for guidance. She has admitted to me she doesn't know much about Biblical prophecy but she listens to ever new "prophet" that comes out speaking good things for America and Trump. Even though none of it aligns with true Biblical Prophecy. I even told my pastor (I was trying to feel him out on his views on this) that I fear that we've turned a 180. The Jewish nation didn't recognize Jesus because they were seeking a messiah that would save them from their earthly issues. Meanwhile, Christians profess to follow christ but refuse to listen to him because the messiah they want would save America and pretty much lead a revolt. I won't even mention the things they want to see done "when Trump" is in again. It would get me censored. I told my pastor that I feel led not to vote right now. I am a veteran I am sick of the national worship and hate going around in church. I can't stand veterans day, memorial day, or the 4rth of July Sunday service at my church because my mother in law picks out the music and as a hard core Republican Trump supporter you can only imagine how much of Christ is actually in the music those days. I told my husband (who is teetering on the fence about this stuff) that I am of good mind not to even attend church on those days. If I had it my way, I wouldn't be attending that church at all. But sometimes I think we are called to stay where we are because that's where God needs us to work. If I did vote, I would vote for Biden at this point. And if I told my family this...oh I don't even want to know the fall out. The hate that would arise. I find myself praying that if it is God's will PLEASE send Trump to prison! Maybe this will break the hold these false prophets and false apostles have on some who truly believe they are following Christ. Wishing harm on others is nor following Christ. Speaking hate of others is not following Christ. Holding fast to a decaying and sinful world is not following Christ. Listening to false prophets and apostles who get visions and words from angels that don't align with the word of God, is NOT following Christ.

The only time trump has told the truth is when he said he had never asked God forgiveness of his sins.
His favorite pastor is Norman Vincent Peale. He wrote “The Power of Positive Thinking”. He taught him to worship himself Not Jesus Christ.
He also said when he drinks his cup of wine and eat his little cracker he GUESSED that was a form of asking forgiveness. This is Not what I was taught! Also if you take the Lords Supper unworthy you eat and drink condemnation to yourself.

Excellent points. I think of the Master's Spirit of Truth, and contrast that against Donnie boys pathological lying. Jesus never made it about himself, he was always humble ("why do you call me good?") vs. Donnie boy saying things like "nobody can do it but me."
Jesus empowered people to be better, Donnie boy leads them down Nocturne Alley into dis-empowerment.

@Sirrus-Adam -- You are right about Jesus of Nazareth being humble; no man, in fact, can ever humble himself as much as the divine Son of God did when He came into this world as the Son of Man.
When Jesus spoke with the rich, young ruler who had called him "good," though, Jesus wasn't trying to be humble when He responded, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God." Jesus was _identifying_ Himself to the young ruler. The man was indeed right to call Jesus good, and because, as Jesus told him, only God is good, it follows that Jesus is God -- God in the flesh. The rich, young man seemed to not understand the Lord's revelation of His identity, and he left sadly when asked by Jesus to sell his worldly possessions and to come and follow Him.

      @Sirrus-Adam Před 4 měsíci

@@LoseTheWorld-KeepYourSoul - Yes, I do like that story. Jesus was testing the young man to see where his loyalties lay. Which did he have the greater passion for, his wealth, or God? If he cared more about his wealth, that interferes with following the leadings of the kingdom of heaven within. If his attitude toward wealth was one of being able to take it or leave it, then he would not have been asked to sell it.
I do believe Jesus is our Paradise Creator Son of God, supreme sovereign of our local universe of Nebadon. So I basically agree with your logic, he most definitely was good, and was God's representative to us of what divinity looks like.

      @LoseTheWorld-KeepYourSoul Před 4 měsíci

@@Sirrus-Adam -- Thank you for responding, but I have to say that, like the rich, young ruler, you have not recognized Jesus of Nazareth as He has identified Himself. Jesus is not a _representative_ of God; He is God in the flesh, one with the Father, as He has said.
Since the name "Nebadon" that you mention comes from the 1955 book, _The Urantia Book_ , I'm assuming that you're an adherent of the teachings presented in the book. The anonymous author or authors of the book claimed that its source was "celestial beings," but, of course, without offering any evidence to support the claim. Some critics of the book have said that much of it was plagiarized from various other sources.
Whatever the actual source of the book may have been, much of its content contradicts that of the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures in important ways, so I have to conclude that it is a work of man and not the Word of God.
The most glaring of the many contradictions with Scripture in the 1955 book is its contention that the death of Jesus on the cross was nothing more than a result of the religious leaders' fear of Him and His challenge to their authority, and not an atonement for the sins of humanity. While it's true that the scribes and Pharisees feared Jesus and falsely accused Him to their Roman overlords, Jesus peacefully submitted to the judgment against Him, because He had indeed come to atone, with His innocent blood, for the sins of all who would put their faith and trust in Him.
The atonement for human sins against God by the holy and innocent Son of God, Jesus of Nazareth, is the central claim of the Christian faith, and anything that contradicts it is a lie from the pit of hell.
I must warn you that if you continue to trust in words of men that contradict the Word of God , it won't end well for you, unless you acknowledge your rejection of God's truth and repent of it while you still live.

@@LoseTheWorld-KeepYourSoul - Very good. Yes, I am a proud Urantian! And now soul identified as a result, (as opposed to bodily identified).
As the Bible appears to be serving your spiritual needs, great. I applaud your sincerity.
But I find the Bible to be riddled with inconsistencies, which, if it had been written by God, would not be there. The Urantia Book, on the other hand, is entirely internally consistent.
Yes, others have claimed the book "plagiarizes" other works, as tho that was synonymous with lying, which it isn't. The authors of the book do say that they used the 1000 highest human concepts (ideas already expressed from the human point of view), as well as indicating that they had made previous attempts to get some of this information out, but that the channel thru whom the UB was transmitted, was fortuitous in that the sleeping subject had no ego investment in the outcome, implying previous attempts resulting in the channel claiming recognition for material revealed. As there are no footnotes in the text, it's hard to know which is which, but the information is non-the-less compelling.
Clearly, the idea that the Urantia Book was written by celestial beings, (including angels and Melchizedeks), is problematic for you. And yet, I suspect you do believe that angels and Melchizedeks exist. I take the opposite view, that it is the Bible that was written by well meaning yet chauvinist men, whereas the Urantia Book, presents information that is befitting of divine beings. It's still not written by God, but has a nice divine flavor to it. And thanks to the military engaging in Remote Viewing, we have independent verification of the existence of midwayers, who wrote Part IV of the UB.
I'm not here to dissuade you away from what works for you. My message is intended for others who may be looking for something more that what the Bible has to offer.
And you're right, I totally reject the idea that Jesus died for our sins. The loving God he introduced us to, whose love for each and every one of us is infinite, would never require sacrifices of any kind. His death was just a precursor to the resurrection.

You say that the book you trust in is for people "who may be looking for something more than what the Bible has to offer." When it comes to knowing God and His requirements for us and His remedy for our failures to meet His requirements, the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures are complete. Nothing needs to be added.
Your belief that a loving God would not require sacrifices of any kind for sin denies the seriousness of human sin against the holy God, our Creator. The argument that God's requirement of death for sin is unjust has been answered by God in this way: He has taken the guilt of our sins on Himself, sacrificing His own earthly body and blood. He didn't ask or force you or me to sacrifice ourselves; He willingly sacrificed Himself, because He is the loving God you seem to believe Him to be, and as Jesus has told us, "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends." I agree completely that we need to defend the truth, and that we need to protect against relativism. But, in my experience, it has been the conservatives who have defended the idea of absolute truth while the liberal viewpoint has often been that there are relative truths. The idea that "your truth may not be my truth" comes out of liberal college campuses, and not conservative think tanks. I think it is a stretch to say that Trump convinces people that truth doesn't exist so he can control them when he has never said anything like this. Perhaps you're implying that he tells so many falsehoods that people come to their own conclusion about truth not existing, and I don't understand how you would reach this conclusion. Stating that Trump is a tortured and twisted soul again reveals the unhealthy hatred that you have for him. As a Christian, you need to be praying for his soul. Can you do that?
Conservatives are always accused of seeing things in black and white, without considering the shades of gray. This, to me, is one of the most popular tactics that relativists use. A baby in the womb is only a baby if it is wanted. If it is not wanted, it's a clump of cells. A man isn't a man, and a woman isn't a woman, if they don't 'feel' that way. Ignore the DNA and create new definitions, and now you can have a spectrum of genders. The Church has spoken out against the "tyranny of relativism" for decades, but it truly is an uphill battle.
I believe that in any situation there is only one truth, but everyone, Christian and non-Christian alike, struggle to determine that truth. When one side attempts to become arbiters for the truth, they immediately become corrupt. Of course, judges in court cases need to be arbiters of truth, and this is why societies must be careful to select wise judges who can recognize the limits of what they are to rule on and who can avoid being biased. But the idea of setting up fact checking groups composed of arbitrary people in order to discredit political opponents is what creates distrust in our society.
So Trump tells everyone that the election was stolen from him. Did he lie, or did he honestly believe this. You yourself stated that he is a narcissist. As such, it seems entirely reasonable to expect that he would believe that there was no way that he could have lost, and therefore some dishonest tactics were used. Conceited, yes. Deceitful, no, if he honestly believe that he won. President Biden has been caught lying a lot about his qualifications and his past, and this does not seem to matter in this discussion. So I will ask this: What is the distinction here? Are lies only spoken by Republicans? Or, is there a certain threshold of lies that are to be tolerated, but Trump has crossed that line, and Biden hasn't yet? Even if you say that Trump lies far more than Biden, you can't deny that Biden has lied. So why does he get a pass?

I think you're making your position more plain with each post, and I'm losing patience. You asked me to show Christian charity to you, as you have done to me, and I think that's appropriate. The difficulty in doing that, though, is that my measured words (in response to your seemingly measured, but rather fanciful tomes) make it seem as though there are two legitimate points of view being expressed here.
One of the main points of this project, for me, is that conservative Christians have prided themselves on their adherence to Truth, but now THEY have become the ones who are destroying it. You're an adult - you should not need me to point out the obvious distinctions between Trump's approach to Truth and pretty much everyone else's (other than his followers). It bothers me that you pretend not to see it, for political gain.
I understand your position on abortion, and now you've added in the gender stuff. Fine. I get it. And my point is that you've let these things capture your mind to the point that you'll excuse and explain away almost anything,
Just as a reality check: If Beelzebub appeared and offered you the ability to wave a wand and make abortion disappear and to clear up any gender issues that make you uncomfortable, for the low, low price of your soul, would you take him up on it?
If not - why not? If you could save even one baby or help even one person to avoid the dangers of gender non-conformity, then how selfish of you not to sacrifice your soul.
Of course, we know the answer already, because you've already made that decision for Donald Trump, as evidenced by every argument you've made. It may seem like the decision for Trump is different in KIND from a decision for Beelzebub, but it's really only a matter of degree.
And it's very different from deciding to support Biden or any other candidate. I can support Joe Biden or whomever - even Trump - without sacrificing my integrity if I'm at least HONEST about the various costs I'm weighing. But I don't hear honesty from you - I hear insincere minimizing and distortion of the truth about Donald Trump.
So yes - you're kind and well-spoken, and I appreciate that, but I can't pretend that your kindness and your gentleness equal an honest argument.

      @JohnFilion Před 4 měsíci

@@culturefaithandpolitics A couple of thoughts on this. The first is that you have not addressed Biden's lies and why they are acceptable while Trump's are authoritarian.
But I would rather spend more time on the reality check that you proposed. The victims of abortion and gender manipulation that the left promotes do not lose their souls when they die. Therefore, it would not be selfish of me to turn down a deal such as you proposed because the loss of my soul would outweigh the bodily death of the others. Furthermore, Christianity teaches that God will not take away our free will. Therefore, nobody, not even Beelzebub could do this, as God would not allow it. No, I'm afraid that these issues are issues that mankind needs to work out for themselves, much as we have worked out other issues to protect each other with laws, like laws against murder or slavery or sex trafficking.
I also think that you missed the irony of the hypothetical that you proposed. Beelzebub is a demon. When St. Paul was addressing the Corinthians about food offered to idols, he implied that pagan sacrifice was actually making sacrifices to demons and not to God (1 Cor 10:19-20). One of the pagan practices that God explicitly condemned in the old testament was the practice of child sacrifice to the pagan gods.
Do you suppose the people in the pagan cultures sacrificed their children because they were giving up the best of what they had as an offering to their gods, or were they removing a burden from their lives that perhaps they could not feed or take care of? In either case, the pagans were willing to sacrifice their children in order to obtain something that they wanted more. When you vote for the candidates who say they will do everything they can so that people can kill their children, are you not sacrificing those children to a god (I'll call it the "anti-Trump god")? And what do you hope to get out of it? A better society. Just like the pagans hoped for. The first commandment states "You shall have no other gods before me".
Now, you are probably thinking "It is not me worshiping that God, but you who is worshiping the "pro-Trump god". But I believe that you misunderstand my position on Trump. I am not any particular fan of his. I find him boisterous and in many cases I thought that he did things that were unbecoming of the office of president. And if DeSantis or Vivek had made it into the primaries, I would have been glad to see either of them get the nomination. I was never interested in the man when he had his reality show "The Apprentice". Although I thought I might learn some aspects of corporate business from watching the show, I just couldn't get interested in it, I guess because I don't much care for reality shows. When they talked about impeaching him, I didn't think they had an impeachable offense (after hearing the pundits from the right explain the situation), but I told my brother that if they did impeach him, I would just as soon see Mike Pence running the country anyway. If I minimize what Trump has done, it is because I don't trust that we are being given an accurate picture of the guy. You refuse to listen to the reasons that the Republicans continue to support him, and so your perception of how evil he is gets magnified. I am convinced that Trump is corrupt. However, I am also convinced that Biden is corrupt. I also believe that if you were to compare leadership skills, that Biden scores very low compared to Trump. I simply don't see the "dark and twisted soul" that you see in him. And, I never got an answer to my question. Can you pray for him?
One more thing. I do believe that you sincerely believe that you are being honest here. I believe that I am being honest here as well. When you have people commenting that you're going Hell, I hope that they are telling you that as a warning, and not as some sort of justice that you deserve. But, I do think that if I am wrong on this issue (which I do not believe that I am), well, I am just a layperson in the church, and I will need to depend on God's mercy. But, being a retired pastor puts you in a teaching position in the church. In 2 James 3:1, St. James states, "Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, for you know that we who teach shall be judged with greater strictness." I am not writing all of this to win an argument. I am concerned that you get this issue right because I believe that the stakes are much higher for you than they are for me.

@@culturefaithandpolitics I had replied to this message, but I don't see it, so I must have neglected to hit the "Reply" button. This second version will probably be shorter than the first draft. Pertaining to your example about Beelzebub, I was taught in my elementary catechism that you never make a deal with the devil, for any reason. But, more realistically, God does not take away our free will, and Beelzebub would not be able to do something that God would not allow. If God puts that much value on our free will, I would not presume to override his desires and force people through some magic spell to stop doing evil things.
But, I think you might have missed the irony of the example that you site. Beelzebub is a demon. But when the Christians were offering food to idols, St. Paul implied that they were actually demons, and that he did not want people participating with demons (1 Corinthians 10:19-20). Throughout the Old Testament, the Israelites were trying put a stop to the practice of sacrificing children to the pagan gods. Do you think that the people who were sacrificing their children were offering the best that they had to the gods, or were they relieving themselves of a burden they did not want to take on? In either case, they were sacrificing their children in order to obtain something that they perceived to be better. The demons, who hate God's creation, love to see this.
When a society has reached a point where it is willing to offer up children to improve the society, I think it is important to ask if there are false gods being worshipped. Perhaps it is a "Anti-Trump" god. To overlook the intrinsic evil and the number of deaths that have occurred because of abortion, and to compare this to a politician telling lies or being a bully, and to say that this is an evil far outweighs the holocaust of abortion makes me wonder.
You might say that I could be accused of having a "Pro-Trump" god, but I really don't care about the guy. I thought his reality show was boring, and I would have been fine with any other candidate that promised to protect human life. If the Democrats had been successful in impeaching Trump, I would have thought that it was unjust, but I would have been fine with Pence taking over. I also would have preferred if Vivek or DeSantis would have won the primaries, just so that we might see some relief from the constant barrage of attacks from the MSM and the Democratic leadership about the evils of Donald Trump. But at this point, I believe that the MSM would just turn it's focus on the next Republican who comes along. They started the campaign against DeSantis until they realized that he wasn't going to win out over Trump.
One more thought. When you get comments about how you are going to Hell, I hope those people are sending those comments as a warning, and not out of some misguided sense of justice that they think you deserve. I'm not simply trying to win an argument here. I believe that it is important to get this right. I'm sure you're familiar with the passage where St. James says "Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers and sisters, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness." (James 3:1). If I am wrong about Trump, I'm simply a guy with an opinion, and I will need to rely on God's mercy. But being a retired pastor puts you in a position of authority within the church. The stakes are a lot higher for you.
