This ought to be mandatory education in schools. This audio was part of a Werner Erhard & Associates audio tape "Creation - a Matter of Distinction" back in the 80s. How many times did I listen to this. It is a true classic in distinguishing the act of deliberately creating in your life. And when you get the grips of it, your realization could truly turn your life around.

Most of the "negative comments' are from people who have not tried it - not participated in order to gain your own perspective and be able to judge if it is valuable. It's like $400 and 3 days of your life to see if a transformation is possible right in your own commitments. We have all wasted far more than $400 and 1 weekend and things that we're entirely unhealthy and are not really complaining much about having done that. Go ahead - take a chance - trust the person who introduced you. Worst that can happen is you won't get much out of it. Best that can happen is an incredible freedom and liberation right in your life.
Werner's passion for teaching/learning is captured so well in this recording. Listen for his expertise at teaching/learning and you can actually hear his evoking and unleashing, in people, their own ability to teach other people to BE authentic and to BE as much "themself" as they can....that's not a trick. In fact, it can only work when it isn't a trick. Just like being authentic. And it has and continues to work. Seems to me this legacy is everywhere in thousands and thousands of people who are themselves, experts and passionate about teaching and learning.
I got what I got out of doing est and at first I didn't like what I got. When I took responsibility for MY experience of dislike I expanded beyond It and from that space [ awareness ] I created est being an experience of contribution. Est like life is meaningless and ultimately IT [ I AM ] is a function of where you are coming from.
4 issues I have: 1. These courses claim to solve all your problems - or at least a wide range. No course can do everything. Don't be conned. 2. It isn't a single course. It just leads to more and more expensive courses being sold to you. If the course was that great, why do you need to do more. 3. Everyone is encouraged to recruit more people. 4. Why does it need to be so intense and controlling. Universities and professional educators do not adopt this style.
4. Universities and colleges don't contribute to the quality of people's lives. Coaches do, and this is coaching. 3. So what? Every business asks you to refer people. 2. So is Buddhist meditation. If your smart, you'll keep doing them until there's no more value. After 34 years, I'm pretty much done. 1. They don't claim that at all. They say you can use them to take responsibility in your life, and have miraculous results. But - other than the basic Forum - they never intend to "do it to you." What did you get out of the Forum, Pete? Honestly.
Many presentations that "look professional" don't make any difference in the QUALITY of people's lives. If you can look beyond your initial reaction, to what people have experienced in Werner Erhard's programs, and then listen to his talks - you'll be doing yourself a great service, Pete.
