Too many matches to "fixing", each clubs will faced 8 different clubs for home and away, it's much much more complicated than for example "fixing" a group phase on old format.
Even if it's fixing, by this format, there's huge possibility for smaller clubs to advanced to round of 16 because by thus format big clubs will getting a bit struggled

What they should have done is change the name of the Competition, as it is full of anything but Champions and yes, including my Club that finished an unprecedented 3rd and yet are still in Pot 1, while Leverkusen, who won the Bundesliga, not losing one single game, sit in Pot 2.
I would also love to know why they could not have had ALL Clubs from the same League put in together?!

It’s the same reason we love the Premier League-there’s more competition and more of those 'big' games. Now, it seems we’ll get them every matchday in the UCL.
Think about it: we’ve only seen Man City play Juve twice in over a decade of watching both clubs evolve. Now, we have the best of both worlds-a league format combined with the traditional knockout phase. They didn’t remove anything from the old structure; they added to it.
This is 100% better than the old format and 1,000% better than a Super League. But of course, in the future, we may become spoiled by so many big games and stop watching the smaller clubs altogether. That is when they will think about maybe a UEFA Super League again.
Yes, they do it for the money, but the money shows them what we, as a football fanbase, enjoy. However, I hope they keep this format forever because the big clubs will always find it easy to qualify, and the competition may vary from season to season.
