Is it just me that thinks bluworm should make a movie
For now, I don't have any ideas for a movie. But I might, eventually.
@@TheLoneAnimator you would be a great movie maker
I disagree. I think somebody else should make a movie and put bluworm in the production team.
I am already envisioning a kiaju meets eldritch horror sci fi series with an internal story arc and consistency that exceeds current kiaju attempts and rivals any other cinema-verse.
I hate those damn lightning-pigs. I had an infestation once that took me ages to clear up.
You work is amazing, sir. Ray would be proud!
Thanks :) Try Eldritch-Off. That always takes care of any Horrors From the Outer Rim.
One of the most badass Lovecraftian/Cosmic Horror performances I have witnessed in a while. Beautiphorific and wonderful.
Thank you :)
Brilliant. You really captured a sense of alien horror and, somehow, the immensity of it all. I lost count of the familiar entities you put in there.
Thank you! I had planned to add even more Old Ones, but I ran out of time.
Personally I like the idea of "Elder Gods imprisoning Old Ones",since them imprisoning Old Ones doesn't necessarily mean they are "Good Guys" . I would like to know Bluworm's interpretation of Elder Gods.
Well, I have skirted around the Elder Gods, because I really don't have a satisfying visual of them. Not yet, at least.
Looks so cool! You are a true inspiration on creating Stop motion! Thanks for it!
Thanks!! Very kind of you to say so :)
I just revisited this little big compendium, that it's like a visual Necronomicon in three minutes...
Okaaay, let's see if I got 'em all, (and if I can spell their names right!)
...
0:48 A couple of Star Spawn
0:53 Great Cthulhu itself!
0:58 Fortunately for my sanity, nor seen enough...
1:01 Shub Niggurath
1:05 Glaaki
1:11 Eihort
1:19 Nope. No idea...
1:22 Cyaegha
1:27 Tsathoggua
1:35 A couple of Dark Young of the Black Goat of the Woods
1:38 Byatis
1:42 Nyarlathotep
2:35 A piggish Elder One?? Does it has to be with the House in the Borderland?
2:46 Chaugnar Faugn
2:49 Shudde M'el, I guess
Wow! All that, along with the repetitions, do an Elder One every six or seven seconds! Insane, man, insane...
You nailed most of them :) 0:58 and 1:01 are just anonymous Lovecraftian abominations. 1:19 is Gobogeg. 1:27 is Gol-Goroth. 1:38 is Rhan-Tegoth. 2:35 is "Ye Hogge", The Hog, an entity from "The Outer Darkness" according William Hope Hodgson. 2:49 could be :)
This is quite fantastickal.
Thanks for including Gla'aki. He's my favorite.
He's one of my faves too :)
This is one of most underrated videos on CZcams
It's not exactly catering to the broader tastes of the CZcams audience :) :)
@@TheLoneAnimator No, it just was not saw by enough people
really showed the beauty of stop motion in this video
Thank you! I hope I am a worthy keeper of the tradition. Though I look at other people's work and I pale with envy and consternation.
@@TheLoneAnimator Yeah, that animation with the two fighting spawns of Cthulhu is what constantly draws me back to this video. Perhaps the best animation in your filmography. (Helps that the poem is pretty great, too.)
How neat it's like Nightmare Before Christmas the cosmic horror version ..🐙🐙💀
Strange coincidence. I was just thinking about you last night, bluworm.
And here I am :)
The sound [music?] Was incredible. Creating a tension and unease even before the visuals can torment the mind further.
If anyone says they would like to live in a Lovecraftian world they would need to see these videos before committing to such a fate.
Madness or death does seem to be the safest escape.
I got this soundtrack from the CD Strange Aeons, used with kind permission from the guys who made it. And the whole CD is a very atmospheric and disturbing (in a good way) listening experience.
Wow! It was like being there when the Elder Gods arrived on the primordial earth and the unending fear that they may return, all in three and a half minutes. Once again you beat Hollywood and its millions of dollars in overly done special effects. Bravo sir, take a bow.
Thanks!! I feel that the cosmic vision of Lovecraft is often better served in short interpretation, rather than feature-length ones.
0:48 "From undimensioned spheres the Old Ones swept down to primal Earth and beneath their mighty tread all creation bowed."
The narrator's voice acting is outstanding, just like the visuals. The Stop-Motion Creatures have a feeling of gigantism in them, which is amazing, something that CGI Animation cannot do.
The dark tone is so beautiful.
The voice itself alone is thrilling. Stunning Short Film.
Your Films are majestic, please never stop what you're doing.
One of my favorites from you yet. Wonderfully done, Richard !
Thank you so much! If you like this video I recommend that you seek out the CD "Strange Aeons", which has more spoken word pieces (by, among others Ramsey Campbell) and several very moody songs. The narration in my video is the opening track from that CD.
Everyone is here!
Almost.. :)
@@TheLoneAnimator Didn't see my favourite Yithians or Mi-go, but still a magnificent job!
No, these guys are strictly Great Old Ones, or minions thereof, like the star spawn.
I don't see ma boi, Hastur, though. :(
@@johnivanoplimo5172 Well, Hastur wasn't made by Lovecraft. Also we still don't exactly know it it was creature, place, person, deity or planet or force or something else...
I really love that snail-creature! The whole thing has a great "Lost World"-vibe (quite fitting, that you used sound snippets from "At the Earth's Core" for the destruction-scene at 2:41). Love it.
That's Glaaki, who now resides at the bottom of the Severn Vally in Great Britain. Steaming prehistoric jungles are a great setting; anything can hide in them. I love old monster movie sound effects. Whenever I can find and steal them, I put them in my films.
Even more fantastic work! I love the thought of these ancient beings making beasts that coexist with regular earth lifeforms. Id personally love to see these beastspawn duke it out with dinosaurs! 1:16
They probably did, even though you don't see it in this film :)
That's amazing
Great work!!! I just can't believe this doesn't have more views!! I'm a new subscriber, but I just don't understand why people don't , can't grasp quality work when it's jumping out and reeling them in!! That's what your work does to me!!! Thank you!! Just absolutely TOP NOTCH QUALITY SHIITE WE'RE TALKING HERE*
I'm really glad you like my shite :)
Every time I watch a video made by Blue Worm I can be totally sure that the love I got for the Ancient Ones will be respected by his huge passion and great talent.
I sure wouldn't want to anger them :)
I'm really glad Gla'aki got a showing here.
Glaaki's an old fave of mine, as is most of Ramsey Campbell's fiction.
Bluworm meets Sir David Attenborough. They should show this on the History-channel.
I'm surprised Lovecraft hasn't appeared on "Ancient Aliens" yet :)
@@TheLoneAnimator That's a good point though technically his aliens are no more real than other monsters in books
@@kennethsatria6607 Yes, but they have a very elevated place in popular culture, and they have been a subject of speculation over the years. Was Lovecraft basing his vivid visions on fact, and such things. I believe Anton Lavey created some kind of ritual for people wishing to worship the Lovecraftian "deities".
Love this video, the stopmotion is incredible and the designs are phenomenal. I’m planning on making a series of books using some of these designs. You really showed Lovecraft’s monsters in the best way.
Thanks! I hope you'll enjoy working on your books.
@@TheLoneAnimator, you’re the best!
This is some good shit.
It is! And we should know. We're Generals!
Did not expect to see Gla'aki (that massive slug G.O.O.) show up.
Glaaki is one of my Mythos faves, so of course he had to be included.
Very strange but also very entertaining.
Thanks! I aim to baffle :)
this is freakin awesome, love all the stop motion monsters
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it :)
I came looking for Entombed, yet Lovecraft never disappoints me.
You have great taste :)
I'm not a big fan of the "Great Old Ones were imprisoned by the Elder Gods" thing, but I absolutely loved this. The creature models are fantastic both in design and presentation, and the animation is delightfully fluid and convincing. The juxtaposition of eldritch beings and prehistoric forests works very well; it really succeeds at conveying the impression of 'deep time' that is so prominent in Lovecraft's work.
I think my favorite bit is the wrestling star-spawn at 1:16. It's just so good.
My only complaint is that the sound effects are a bit too loud at times, and that, together with the reverb in the narration, makes it somewhat difficult to understand what is being said.
But all in all, this is an excellent piece of work!
Deep Time is a story device which is hard to handle effectively, I think. But Lovecraft always does it masterfully, and that's one of the things that draws me into his stories.
This is the track right off the CD "Strange Aeons." Yes, I guess it can get muddled at times.
Superbbbbbbbb........!!!!!!! This will certainly add pleasure to my nightmarish dreams.
I wish you made pleasurable nightmares :)
Damn my man Tulzscha gets a cameo all over the second half of this.
I try to lift those lesser appreciated abominations.
Great job to all that worked on this & a huge fan of HP i give this a grade A for AWESOME .
Thanks for you awesome grading :)
This is one of your best films yet! And one of the highest number of new monsters we've seen. Also, did I see tiktaalik in there! It's first fictional cinematic outing, to the best of my knowledge.
Thanks! :) Yes, you are correct about the tiktaalik. I've always had a soft spot for the in-between evolution stages from fish to amphibian.
@@TheLoneAnimator Good book on the subject; "Gaining Ground" by Jenny Clack - who is at the forefront of this research. I won't pretend that I understood it all, but the number and variation of amphibians was mind blowing!
I'll look that one up; thanks. Amphibians ruled the world at one point.
And here I am without my Spotters' Guide. Marvellous, love the sound too.
Thanks! The narration and the soundscape come from the CD "Strange Aeons" of which this is the first track.
So much eye-candy! Another classic.
Thanks! I try to get the eye candy in there :)
How lovely.
Thank you :)
"From the dying worlds and spheres
The great old ones came to primal earth
Became the ruling monsters
And godkings of this world
They all succumbed to sleep and shadow
As all creation heard
But when the aeon of man has passed
The old ones shall return"
-prophecy of E'ryleah
Map of the pacific.
The old wisdom!
@@TheLoneAnimator also known as the anthem of R'leyh, written by Nyarlathothep himself
Oh! I love h.p.lovecraft stories and you are good animator
Thank you!! :)
dammit!
If only CZcams allowed people besides the content creators to add subtitles like they used to do, I would have made the italian subtitles for this and many other of your videos already!
It's so unfair, your stuff should be spread around as far as possible!
I didn't know you couldn't add subtitles anymore. Anyone being able to contribute would be a great plus.
@@TheLoneAnimator
Yup.
For a while now...
Only the person who made the video can add them.
They did that to avoid people making misinformative subtitles...
😐
I guess at most one can write the translation in the comment section, so that the content creator can add the subtitles after reading the comment.
I absolutely love your creatures!
Thank you :) I love making them.
Thanks for this!
Thanks for watching :)
Great work, as usual. Glad to see you are still making films.
Oh, I'm going full pelt! Trying to finish a new film every month.
Awesome!! amazing work as always.
Thanks for watching! :)
wait... this is totally amazing . your model and graphic blow my mind
Thanks! Glad I could blow your mind :)
This is amazing.lovecratian horror is the most creative type off art
Thanks! :) Let's say Lovecraftian horror or cosmology offers a wide range of very colorful interpretations. That's why I'm drawn to it.
bluworm I would think Lovecraft wouldn’t be able to handle the amount of influence his work in culture but please keep doing what you are doing or at least the until the old ones rise up ; )
I have waited months for this !!! This is the greatest thing that I have ever watched I also didn’t expected what the future of humanity has met its end. I gave my regards to the creators for making a great short film like this God speed love!
Yeah, it took a while to finish this one; glad you liked it :)
This is so beautiful!!!
Thanks :)
Nice, I think he would have loved it.
Thanks; I hope he would've :)
This one has to be one of my favorites that I keep on rewatching. Something about the cosmic horror and the grim and muffled narration that hits different.
I'm happy that a home-made amateur film can offer a bit of fascination; thanks! :)
All hail the ancient gods!
Damn right! Why choose the lesser evil :)
Godzilla awakens from a slumber plagued by strange dreams to a world unlike the one of ancient aeons. Soon his brethren shalt emerge from nameless tombs to once again subdue Earth under foot.
You guys are always worth the wait. No matter the time between videos or how the long the video is, always worth it. I don't think I'd be a Lovecraft fan if it wasn't for you guys. Also, I eagerly await playing my 5th ed dnd Warlock inspired from you guys.
Thanks! I try to finish one video per month, but I don't always make it. Inspiring a love for Lovecraft ain't half bad :)
This is so cool, you should do more adaptation from that psychedelic cd, i think your weird and unique combination of computer graphic and stop motion fits it perfectly!
Thanks! Well, the other tracks have multiple copyright holders attached to them, so there might be a slog getting approval from everyone. This track is made by Steve Lines only, and he gave me the go-ahead; no problems.
@@TheLoneAnimator Yeah, I figured, but I think any Lovecraft enthusiast should love to see his work in a video of yours
Not really.. I think my films divide people. And some other artists stick to their copyrights very tightly. I've been in touch with a couple and got a no.
This was marvellous!!
Thank you! :)
Fantastic! Always a fan of your work.
That beast at 2:35 is creepy and hilarious.
Ah; The Hog! It'll make an appearance later this year, I hope.
Impressive……as fine an example of Lovecraftian lore as I have seen.
Thanks! :)
I think you would excell at captivating the poems of Clark Ashton Smith. Have you read any of his stories?
Oh yes, I have a few projects in the pipeline based on his stories :)
This video is spectacular! Great stop motion and visual effects!
Thank you! :)
Amazing! this is great. Love the idea of you making a movie. By far, your short with people on green screen, voice over and occasional puppets animation are the one who most capture the Lovecraftian spirit. A longer project should definitely aiming in that direction.
You could team up with a young student writer and start working around something. Would be incredible.
Thanks :) Well, you never know -One day I might upon that single idea that forces me to make full-length film.
Amazing! Just Amazing! 👏🏻
Thanks!! Glad you enjoyed it :)
I really did. Thank you for sharing your work with us.
One day the old ones will return. 🐙💀
And things will get infinitely worse or better.
Good work
Thank you! :)
Awesome Lovecraft realized perfectly. Wish I could go back in time with a portable player and show these to H.P. before he died of stomach cancer in the hospital.
High praise indeed; thanks! It seems Lovecraft was a film buff of sorts. It would've been interesting to find out what he would think of people like me, adapting his work.
Fantastic!
Glad you enjoyed it! :)
Wow! This is amazing. Thank you!
Thanks for stopping by :)
Holy hell this is really awesome!
Thank you! :)
It’s a prophecy
We’ll all soon see
Our end.. But the beginning of something new.
Just found your work. I think it's amazing you keep this art form alive. Never stop!
Thanks! Doing this is too much fun, so I'll probably keep on going as long as my head and my hands are serving me well.
Beautiful combination of techniques! You continue to inspire!!
Thank you! :)
amazing work
Thank you :)
Ray Harryhausen would be proud
That's high praise indeed! :)
Love it.
Thanks! :)
Best one yet.
Thanks!! :)
@@TheLoneAnimator Of course! :D
Love this, in spite of the fact that the voice is sometimes unclear. 👍
That's odd -I pulled this piece of music with narration from a CD, and it sounds clear enough there.
@@TheLoneAnimator Probably just my old ears, then. Nvm. 👍
Shouldnt have watched this so close to bed time lol
Too late now! Enjoy your dreams :)
Really nice work. Lovely stop motion puppets a few I’ve seen in other works of yours.
Thanks! Yeah, some critters do get recycled :)
AWESOME ! Your works just keep getting better and better ! :-)
Thank you! I try to get better :)
Wonderful, the Lovecraftian short film that Ray Harryhausen really should have of but never did make!!
A Lovecraft movie by Harryhausen would've been a beautiful thing.. :)
1:35 IMO these are the scariest creatures...I think they are Dark Young of Shub Niggurath...confirm?
Correct!
Спасибо! Отличная работа!
This is great
Thanks for stopping by and watching :)
so beautiful ^_^
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Awesome channel! Just found you - really lovely work :)

We need a figure line of all of bluworms amazing creations who with me
I probably have to wait until I'm reeeaaallly famous to get that line going :)
@@TheLoneAnimator I know but I’m willing to help free of pay and I don’t need anything in return just know I’ll help you by spreading the word of your creativity and imagination
Basically "The Lost World" From 1925 With Lovecraftian Entities
I guess :) There are no explorers around, though. Except for us who watch the film, of course.
@@TheLoneAnimator Naturally
You sure know how to make scary monsters base by the best monster author H.P Lovecraft, good job.
Thanks! Lovecraft had a wondrous mind, apparently.
...so, in other words, "Welcome to the 21st Century."
To name all the GOA and creatures here there's 0:55 Cthulhu, Abholos 1:01, Glaaki 1:06, Cthulhi 1:16 , Eihort 1:13, Gobogeg 1:21, Cyaegha 1:24, The dark young 1:36, Byatis 1:38, Nyarlathotep 1:43, 2:47 Chaugnar faugn, except 1:33 ( I forgot please tell me)
You pretty much nailed it :) 1:16 is the spawn of Cthulhu. The one at 1:33 is Robert E Howards Gol-Goroth. And the giant pig head at the end is William Hope Hodgson's the Hog.
@@TheLoneAnimator I might read the story about the Hog. Also I've just researched into it, and it appears to have name which called "Saaitii" or better known as the spectral hog :))
freakin awesome man! keep that up!
Thanks! There's more weird stuff coming up :)
A wonderful depiction of the End Times from a Lovecraftian viewpoint. Well done.
Thank you! Not a very uplifting subject, but a very fanciful one.
I love this!
I'm glad you do :)
The animations were great. Kind of makes you want to visit that primeval world...sort of...
Thanks! But I'll pass on going back in time :)
Shuma Gorath!!
Very Good!
Glad you liked it! :)
Nice!
Thanks! :)
Stuff of nightmares!
I'm glad you think so :)
Cosmist nightmare
This might be my favorite of yours. Very creepy.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it :)
I have a bad feeling on September 20th people will raid the Area 51 and probably didn’t know if something like this are being kept inside for a big reason
Wouldn't that be a big surprise?! "No, we don't have any crashed aliens here. We do have Cthulhu's greasy Star-Spwan, though."
