Trained my new 7 week old Silver (Lab) Labrador puppy to sit in 5 minutes.

- Just got a new beautiful female silver lab puppy 24hrs ago taught her to sit in 5 minutes. Thought it might be too early but she is ready to learn.
*Update the next morning she still remembered the sit command.

I have a silver lab and he is 4 months old now. And on the second day that we had him (he was 2 months) he already learned how to go up and down the stairs and on the 5th day we had him he learned sit and down. Silver labs are truly so smart they and kind sweet and so gentle. ♥️

The AKC considers silver labs as chocolates. My lab looks almost pure white and she is considered yellow.

My son has a silver lab. His name is Smokey and he is gorgeous.
I can’t believe how many people want to argue whether silver labs are genuinely labradors or if they’re mixed with Weimaraner. I grew up breeding silver, chocolate, and black labs (We had 4 dogs, never force bred them, use puppy mills, neglected them, etc. and they only had a litter once a year. They were our pets. Most dog breeders aren’t scum...). It’s odd to see random people who have probably never done actual research on the origin of silver labs give their opinion. The color comes from the recessive gene of the chocolate side or is a “diluted chocolate color”. Why dumb down silver labs to “Weimaraners” as if saying that makes them less of a dog? I’m sure most people in this CZcams comment section are NOT professionals on this subject. But, they’re still dogs and dogs are great so calm down lol. And gosh dangit... just enjoy the video:)
We’re not trying to make it seem like less of a dog just because it’s mix. It’s a nice pretty color outta nowhere,since when was this diluted chocolate color in the gene pool. Wouldn’t it had popped up years ago, around the same time when the chocolate lab first came to be.

This article (and many others) explain how the silver color is achieved, yet it basically DID just show up out of nowhere, or at least it was never accounted for.

my friend had 7 silver and one charcoal recently and they were already potty trained and using a doggy door before people bought them. a couple i was playing with were already fetching and dropping. though hes not a breeder. so they were born indoors and kept in kitchen near dog door an they saw their parents using it and caught on quick. the bad thing i only record a little of them. though i went and played with them a few times before they all went to new homes.

I use the same food for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and treats. I get the dog food from Costco, its called Nature's Domain (sometimes I mix in a few tablespoons of pumpkin from a can). I would recommend anything grain free...NO Corn or Wheat is important!
Thanks for the comment. No stool or stomach issues, it was recommend by my breeder to mix in some pumpkin since we were planning on changed her dog food brand. She really liked the pumpkin and I believe it is a healthy treat, now we only add it on special occasions.
+steve p Grainless foods are used for dogs with allergies, not needed for most dogs. You avoid corn fillers, yes. You do not need grain free unless there are problems, The person who bred your litter knew what is coming and is trying to shield you from it. Pumpkin is used for upset stomachs not as a snack. You've been bullshitted and you'll find out eventually. How sad for your little puppy.

So adorable! My family and I are adopting a silver lab puppy in three weeks and I can't contain my excitement. He is cousin to our black lab, who is getting on in years and needs some company after our Beagle passed away last two Christmases ago. How is your smart girl doing? I'm sure she's full of boundless energy and top of the class now! Our lab was always a smart one too. He was potty trained in about two weeks and picked up commands very quickly. Still impresses people to this day!

I am not interested in debating if a silver lab is a pure bred or not. I have done my research and critical thinking and recommend everyone do their own research and talk to multiple breeders and silver lab owners. I do find it interesting the people who are against silver labs and give false lies are the same breeders who sell only the 3 common color labs, they are afraid and are losing market share to the very popular silver lab.

registered silver labs cost over that, and dogs are not considered pure bred unless they are registered so i highly doubt your family bought a registered pup for that cost unless you dont live in the same area as me

I know what my daughter paid in California plus her cost to fly to the east coast to bring her gorgeous puppy boy home. The pedigree is blue blooded, 100% champions with Obedience titles and many Therapy dogs too. She had the AKC long generation pedigree with a seal, framed it's that nice and their boy is growing into a super handsome chocolate Labrador. He took 1st place in both of his classes and Reserve Winners Dog at his 1st dog show run by the AKC. I did not see anything but 3 colors of Labradors there, Yellows, Chocolates and Blacks. Each color had shading differing from 1 dog to another. The programme had classes for each of the colors and it was all Labradors, no other breeds. I will go watch again, what a fun day it was and such nice people.

i got a silver lab she's 2 now and i got so much flack from people that we did a DNA test and had the lab tech even explain the entirety of the results. its crazy how ape shit people are about silver labs being part Weim when they aren't. not that it matters but... anyway cool vid nice eyes on her mine turned yellow after a couple of months but sometimes hazel in the sun. very smart dog one of the smartest I've ever loved.
Sorry sir but it is not a biological fact. It is actually quite simple. A silver lab is a chocolate lab with the dilute gene that makes the coat on one of these dogs silver. While it is true that Weimaraner have this gene so do many other breeds of dogs. Therefore a silver lab can be a purebred lab while having a silver color. Again sorry for the confusion on your part. For example a fox red lab is a different shade but it is still considered a yellow lab in the same way that a silver lab is still a chocolate lab.

Kenny Desormeaux Silver labs are pure breeds, they carry a recessive gene that dilutes there colour. (Silver are diluted chocolate Labradors, champagne are diluted yellow labs and charcoal are diluted black labs)
