- SETUP UPDATE FOR LATEST PHYSICS BOTTOM OF DESCRIPTION!! (24.07.23)
A hotlap of the Nordschleife VLN with the Porsche 911 GT3 R, I have struggled a lot to get this car under the 8 minute mark. Now I have figured out a somewhat decent setup and most importantly how to drive the car.
Currently #3 on the leaderboard, with 2 seconds behind #1.

I kinda tweaked the setup for the 992 and got an 8.03.1 thanks for the video. would like to see a 992 attempt(and setup) as the number 1 time is using it
That will be the next Nords hotlap video, once I get some time to actually do a video.
Nice lap man
Thx for the setup
Great Round. +15 faster than me xD.
do you think it works also on 992?
No this setup wont work for the 992. This setup was made to get rid of the default understeer of the car. The 992 is more oversteery on default setup.
Did the Porsche become slower after the new physics update? For my life, I can't get under 8 minutes! But a very good setup!
No, but I had to adjust the setup to the new physics. I have not tested it after yesterdays update with the Porsche pack, I am gonna test it tomorrow. I will update you on my findings 🙂 now that we can control the TC Slip it may even be better.
@henrikandreassen5190 God-damn, that was the nicest "that's a skill issue" that I heard from a man!
I appreciate it thx!
@@paulkorsun😂, I did test it again with the same setup that I have put in the description, with some adjustments to the tc cut. And I think I may be able to cut 3 seconds of the laptime in the video. I was 1 second faster in sector 1 and 2. Will update the setup in the description this evening.
@@henrikandreassen5190 Thank you for the update. But the new porsche is now my love! immediately did a low 7:55 with it.
@@paulkorsun Nice! Yeah the new Porsche is very nice.
Wanted to give a try to your setup but there's no correspondence between your settings and those i find in the menu page. IE front arb there's no 72,2. Front spring doesn't goes under 200 and so on. Maybe last update changed those things?
Yeah, this setup is from before the last tyre model update, so it wont work, I will update the setup if I try this car again on nords.
Hi, how is raceroom lately? and how do you compare it to iracing in terms of physics? thanks!
I have AMS2, AC, ACC and RFactor 2, I have tried iRacing briefly, so cant really form an opinion on iRacing other than it being expensive. But out of all these simulators Raceroom is the one I come back to all the time. In my opinion racerooms physics are the best out of those mentioned above, I can push hard and play with the limit without wrecking myself (most of the time).
Raceroom lack a lot of things that the others have, but they are working towards new graphics, game engine, weather etc… But its a slow development.
Give it a go if you havent tried raceroom in a while, its the best way to find out.
@@henrikandreassen5190 thank you for explaining how you feel about raceroom at length!
Yes I also have tried raceroom but last time I play was probably 1.5 years ago... I owned some paid content also and have enjoyed several ranked races even. Raceroom was also so much joy to me even though I am not a fast driver.
I was just coming back to sim racing recently and tried iracing instead. Now what you have said actually triggers me to try raceroom again. Thank you
@@jovaniseptovich5110 GT3 physics was also updated very recently with the release of the M4 GT3. Ranked racing can be really good, but also very bad at times. I balance that with being part of several leagues with a schedule and one off special races.
The worst that could happen is you dont like and uninstall it 🤷🏻♂️🙂
@@henrikandreassen5190 Watching this video after watching IRL onboard and I must admit the way the Porsche moves in corners looks really lifelike. Cannot really say the same about other simulators what comes to Porsches specifically.
Apparently iRacing does some cars incredibly well, apart from the tire temperature model, but not all cars are created equal and some behave significantly more accurately than others. The best should, however, be really top notch.
Tire pressure?? May I know?
No changes to tire pressure.
@@henrikandreassen5190 oh nice, thank you.
Though I'm new to those games but, I kind of need to know which racing sims let the car catches air (Blowover is called in Nascar's reference), I got a list that I'm sure doesn't: Gran Turismo(s), both AC and ACC, most Simcades. NTG 2011 lets it artificially (unnatural blowover) and no signs with the succeeding games. Ones that I'm sure: Iracing and BeamNG. I'm not sure about Rfactor(s), R3E, Automobilista(s)(including Project Cars').
Aerodynamics are so underrated, like almost nobody talks about it.
