  • Tekken 8: A Rage-Fuelled Evolution of Fistic Fury
The King of Iron Fist Tournament returns, and this time, the stakes are higher than ever. Tekken 8 explodes onto the scene, promising brutal combat, a sprawling narrative, and an evolution of everything that made the series a legend. Is this King the rightful heir to the throne, or does it stumble under the weight of its ambition? Strap on your gloves, folks, because I'm about to deliver the first punch.
    A Visual feast with Bite:
Unreal Engine flexes its muscles in Tekken 8, painting arenas with breathtaking detail. From the sun-scorched deserts of Mishima to the neon-drenched alleyways of New Detroit, every environment is a visual treat. Character models pulsate with life, sweat glistening on muscles as they unleash bone-crunching combos. This is Tekken at its most visually stunning, capturing the raw intensity of battle and the gritty glamour of the underworld.
    Combat Evolved:
Tekken 8 builds upon the series' iconic gameplay with a newfound focus on aggression and strategic depth. The new "Heat" system injects the battle with a tactical layer, allowing you to overheat your character for devastating burst attacks. Mastering this risk-reward system is key to dominating the competition. New mechanics like wall splat combos and parry options add further layers of complexity, rewarding skilled players with even more devastating techniques.
A Story of Legacy and Betrayal:
Tekken's narrative has always been a tangled web of family feuds and power struggles, and Tekken 8 pulls no punches. Kazuya Mishima's thirst for power burns brighter than ever, as he sets his sights on a global takeover. Jin Kazama struggles with his inner demons, torn between his humanity and the Devil Gene's insatiable rage. New faces step into the ring, each with their own motivations and secrets, adding intrigue and depth to the already explosive story. The cutscenes are visually stunning, blending seamlessly with the gameplay to deliver a cinematic experience that rivals Hollywood blockbusters.
    Beyond the Battlefield:
Tekken 8 isn't just about pummeling your opponents to dust. The game offers a diverse array of modes to keep you hooked. The classic Arcade and Practice modes return and a revamped online experience with improved netcode and ranked ladders. Whether you're a seasoned warrior or a curious newcomer, there's something for everyone in this expansive package.
    The Verdict:
Tekken 8 isn't just a sequel; it's an evolution. It retains the series' core strengths while adding innovative mechanics, a gripping story, and stunning visuals. While the new Heat system might feel daunting for some, its depth and strategic potential add a whole new layer of excitement to the combat. Whether you're a Tekken veteran or a fighting game enthusiast, Tekken 8 is a must-play. Just remember, there's a thin line between champion and challenger, so grab your controller and prepare to unleash your inner warrior.

For competitive play: I play the PS5 at home and at venues it is PC. The 60 frame lock is big deal and I lost matches due to the difference in fps. I agree with this videos conclusion.

PC is different in that the GPU and CPU aren't tied together in one dedicated gaming SOC like the PS5. Given my 3060 is 13 Tflops and the CPU has a higher clock speed than PS5, I'm still mostly gaming on the PS5.
My problem is that I tend to max out graphics settings on PC which tanks the frame rate in certain instances. Ideally games have a dynamic res options at a locked frame rate.
PS5 also just very 'ease of use'. Optimizing a game as per your PC specs can take a good hour.

That is true brother. PC gaming does need some tweaking and sometimes the lure of testing your PC's mettle also hinders your gaming performance. The consoles are pretty straight forward and more like An Automatic Car vs a Manual Car (PC). :)

I wanted to buy the game at the ps5, but because playstation plus exists(costs $80 for the essential ps plus) i bought it on pc. My pc is a 1650 and it runs 59 fps perfectly.

I think you have a garbage PC...probably thats why you didnt tell the full component specification. A good PC will always do better than any console...provided it meets the hardware requirements

    • @punchimangaming
      @punchimangaming  Před 26 dny

This was on my ROG Strip G15 Advantage Edition with the RX6800M which is definitely not top of the line but also not a garbage PC. I also have the 4070 Super so I understand what garbage PC is and know that a PC can perform better than a console, its simple as it can be spec'd up as per your budget. But given the price to performance, consoles give you your money's worth. Thanks for your comment anyways. God bless.

@@ironfistgaming77 I think its still OK considering its an Older GPU. It still performs well for the price and is a good 1080p Ultra to 1440p medium/high card. If playing on the laptop screen it looks pretty good. And it of course works like a charm on my 4070 Super.

Have you tried using Lossless scaling with it brother? Try it and see if it helps. I tried it and it does make a difference on my RX6800M.
