Gear Review After the Tahoe Rim Trail - What was worth it

- This is my typical gear setup for backpacking. I make minor adjustments for longer trails like bringing a wall charger, nail clipper etc, but this is pretty much my setup for any three season trip.

Bringing extra caps is genius.
The great thing about WFA is that it teaches you to use the stuff you already carry, and makes you realize how many weird situations you can address with it! The only thing I don't know how people don't immediately buy afterwards if they didn't carry it before was a space blanket, and that is tiny and light and cheap.
Plan is to take it this winter.
❤you cracked me up about and the expense of the Fanny pack Dyneema the great fabric in world. So expensive I have a few stuff sacks 30-40 dollars I'm always afraid someone is throwing out accidentally because they don't look like much. Love your videos

Great video. Thank you! Regarding fanny packs, Cotopaxi makes a really good collapsible, packable fanny pack that I take everywhere. It is sturdy and takes up little room in my bag.
You asked about hiking shorts, I like Patagonia “barely baggy” shorts or any with at least 5” hem and good pockets. The length eliminates riding up and chafing.
Great information. Paria makes a great Tri-fold-carbon cork trekking pole that might work for you that I have been using for over 6 years now and I never hike without them.

Aahhhh my people!! Lol, I have been SCOURING CZcams for black backpackers making content. I’ve been considering starting my own to be honest because it’s just not present at all. And as I’m sure you know, backpacking is/can be a VERY different for black folx, so it’s hella necessary. And theeennn somehow this morning your page popped up! Great gear review. I also love my waymark Lite 50. One of the most comfortable packs I’ve ever had. A friend of mine recommended your channel and I think I also heard you on a podcast but I’m excited to join along. Your videos are amazing and your adventures are pretty epic. You have hit some of my dream trails haha. I am also definitely team fanny pack! I used a rolltop fanny pack from hilltop packs.

Ive been looking at 6 moons tents. How do you think the ventilation would be in a very humid and rainy area?
The six moons text actually has very good ventilation. You can raise the front vestibule to get better airflow.

Those are custom shirts I made a while back for my production company. I'm not currently selling them. But if you like it, I might get the store back up and running.
My base weight was about 15 pounds. That includes my camera gear.

Why did they tell you thr bear canister was required only in some areas? Also how did you carry your can? Im jam mine in my pack but always interested to see how others do it
The bear canister is only required is Desolation Wilderness. I carried it inside my pack on top of everything, and it sits vertical. That said, it all depends on the size of your pack, how much you're carrying, etc.
