- A less invasive test commonly used to diagnose coronary disease also may be used to detect one of the leading causes of heart failure, say researchers at the Medical College of Georgia.
By using a nuclear stress test to look at how fast blood flows into the hearts pumping chamber the left ventricle they can determine if a patients left ventricle is having trouble. - Věda a technologie
I had a stress test done a few days ago. I couldn't finish the treadmill, I have PAD in my left leg, so they medically induced it... It really scared me; though it didn't last long, I had trouble breathing, & my heart felt like it was gonna burst through my chest. But my results came back as a low normal. The pathetic thing is - I'm a lot younger than most patients, I just didn't take care of myself like I should have. So _please_ take care of your health - time goes by _so fast,_ & problems _will_ catch up with you, a lot sooner than you realize.
Wow suzanee I have this test soon and I'm so terrified,
@@davidconstant4716 - It will be ok. 😊 I just think I wasn't prepared for it to hit me that quick & hard... & like I said, it doesn't last long, few seconds.
@@suzannac.6057 Thank you suzanna, and so your heart only felt like it was beating fast for a few seconds?
@@davidconstant4716 - Yes... 😊
@@suzannac.6057 Thank you suzanna your a legend. 😊
Had it done. Scans were ok. Getting a vasodilator injected in the middle of a slow walk was extremely scary. I instantly felt like I ran around the block but my feet were barely moving. I think I had an anxiety attack that something horrible was happening. And after suffering a pulmonary embolism lung clot, I was on edge already.
Yeah felt the same way. From 0 to 100 in a few seconds.
I recently had coronary calcium score. 350 in the LAD. Stress test found ECG EKG abnormalities and going for nuclear stress test next week. Options could be bypass or stents but I have to be careful until the doctors get this all straightened out. I only recently started having any symptoms at all but I am following the doctors advice.
I'm impressed with the dramatic introduction!
I had the test today. It takes about 4 hours. Lot down time so take a book or phone to occupy you. Little discomfort for 6 to 8 minutes. Test required by hospital prior to Cryoablation procedure on my heart. It is really no problem to have the test. Don't have results yet.
What was ur report ?
The Radiation they inject into your body is like taking 440 X-rays of your chest at once. Also almost 600 people per year get cancer from the radiation each year. I read this in the waiting room before my nuclear stress test and when they called me I’m I told the doc I was leaving 😂
I agree with you
I'm having this test done on July 2nd. I am concerned after reading a few comments. I'm concerned about it making my heart beat to fast. Just 1 week ago my heart was beating 226 times a minute ems was called, they had to shock it. I don't ever want that to happen again.
any news ?
Unfortunately, no. The doctor's where i live are not that trustworthy people have told me that their doctor's who cannot make it in the big city. Thank you for asking. Do you also have heart problems?
Lori Januszkiewicz Yes i have problems with heart...
How it go
How did your test go heart go really fast?
Waiting for my results, still carrying my DOD radiological serum card to keep my ace from being jacked up by DHS.
Let's see how it goes!!!
The VA facility that gave me my last nuclear heart stress test three years ago tried to kill me but THIS TIME the army medical center got me very well taken care if, proper protocol followed.
What is the difference between dobutamine stress echo test and nuclear stress test
Mine came back equivocal. Great, lots of money spent with no answers. Mine was not done on treadmill. I had medication given while in scanner. Now they want to do angiogram. I’m holding out on doing that for a bit.
I’m scheduled for this on this upcoming Thursday.
I just had mine done, piece of cake. Only minor discomfort when my arteries were dilated but not bad.
Aww ok I have this soon nuclear stress test mri. I'm terrified as they inject you with agent to speed your heart up.
@@davidconstant4716 Hello David, how did you do in your nuclear heart test?
Two months ago after other tests I had the chemically induced nuclear stress test. It showed me clean and clear .. Shortly after I had an incident where I thought I was having a heart attack .. told my Cardio Dr and he did a heart cath .. guess what? I'm sitting here typing this 12 days out of a triple bypass. I was 80% blocked and the nuke test did NOT show it. Keep your options open.
Yup,the stress test won't show everything that is wrong with your heart. I'm happy to hear they finally found the issue and that most of all you advocated for yourself. Hope you are doing well, now.
Why not get the cardiac cath in the first place especially if symptomatic. Why stress your heart any further? If heart already damaged, I would think the best thing would be to restore blood flow, exercise and diet.
Not my choice .. had to listen to the cardio folks and go by what they said@@ruthdanielson919
My scan was good. I am 56 and my heart rate is usually around 55 to 60. After the test I felt great then while I was sleeping my heart was dropping to 41. And my blood pressure dropped also. I felt fine except for a very bad headache.
Had my nuclear stress test a few days ago. Didn't have the medicine to increase heart rate as I was able to do the treadmill just fine. But the fellow in the next cubicle had to use the heart medicine, and that's what was bothering him as well. He told the nurse he suddenly had a very bad headache!
Just had mine today. Everything went well, just a slight headache. I pray all is well 🙏
Which one is better to to detect blockages which one is safest they set me up for a conary cta
But I think ima do nuclear stress test instead I been so sick chest pain trouble breathing left arm pain and numbness been in and out of hospital 4 times I’m scared of doing the cta and taking medication and it getting to low that way with the nuclear I’m at the hospital
I had this done in 2020, and nuclear cardio scan stress with a medicine 💉🧠🧬🦠❤️💔 and I had the test with out treadmill.
I had the "chemical stress test" a few years ago, results were better than expected after 1976 bypass surgery, etc. I'm going in for a "nuclear stress test" in a few days, am nervous about current heart health, expect some discomfort as before, more concerned with results.
Did u made it please let us know
@@kimberlytippen4436 Follow up visit in June, results probably OK. Test was not very uncomfortable, much less so than 10 years ago.
I've had several done and i don't see the point when you already know what the problem is
What is the problem ?
How was yours got mine comming up im terrified about the stress part bit.
@@davidconstant4716 It was ok you feel heated for about five seconds and that’s it the hardest part is the length of the test, I have a lot of stents and I did well you will too just relax and drink plenty of water afterwards
@@crystalmalveaux2097 thank you for getting back, I'm worried about my heart rate going crazy during stress part...
$$$$$$$$$$$
I have Cardiomyopathy and heart failure enjeck 50 is 👍😊 good.
Not much medical scares me, but I admit I'm almost terrified of the stress echo I have coming up. Relieved in a way that the rest of you are/were scared, too. I've had many nuclear stress tests, piece of cake, but this time it's more serious and I'm older and less able to move. My cardio requested the echocardio be in the room along with the technicians, which is some relief to me. I've always done well with surgery and tests, so I'm hoping for a successful outcome, that the light at the end of the tunnel isn’t the train to nowhere coming for me, lol.
how does it feel in the nuclear test, how does your heart react and The body
@@VidayAventuras For me, it doesn't have a strong effect. Some mild warmth and an awareness of my heart beating for the few minutes of the test. I can't speak for others, of course, but I'd call it a walk in the park compared to the effort of running on a treadmill.
@@marymaryquitecontrary How did your echo-cardio stress test go?? Thank you for posting info on this procedure!
@@gloriamaryhaywood2217 Wish I had more to report, but the truth is, I bailed! No one (read, seven cardiologists and my pacemaker surgeon) could tell me why the stress echo had to be treadmill, and I decided that was not in my best interest. For now at least, I've given up the search for a diagnosis, just living with my limitations. Good thing I like my own company, because it's my life these days. Sometimes "no answer" is the only answer we get.
@@marymaryquitecontrary Welp, I have decided to do the part of getting my heart rate up by walking on the tread mill! I already work out at my gym on an elliptical machine! It's no impact on my knees and I love it! But I would rather push thru the pain of a tread mill then be injected with a chemical to increase my heart rate!#YIKES! May I ask what is it about the tread mill walking that you dislike so much? Maybe you are disabled in knees or hips?🤔 And Thank You for answering back!😊
I just had it done today and you keep all clothes on they have all electrodes under clothes .
Belt around waist with electrodes hooked up.
Different places different styles
change my answer not have it yet
This test it's awesome to detect any problems in the Hart.
Absolutely
You did the nuclear test can you tell how it feels
It is useful for detecting certain conditions of the heart like a coronary artery blockage but it certainly can not detect all cardiac issues.
85,000 views and no comments? I don't believe it.
i had this done due to covid viruses in 2020! had covid 3 times this last one is the one i had done to find heart fauilure inflammed heart muscles and enlarged heart!
Were you vaccinated?
@@pyreofsouls Yes I'm vaccinated 3 doses and half to get a second dose of the vaccine too.
@@lynndeatherage3792 i would avoid getting the booster if you care for your heart
I have my test tomorrow afternoon
How did it go for you? Mind sharing your experience, thanks.
How did you do?
Wasn’t bad glad I did it! Found issues I never suspected
@@Willie23D oh ok well hope nothing too serious, and was your heart beating fast during stress part of test?
I’ve had both. I did the treadmill test and bombed it. I ended up with a quadruple bypass. I had the nuclear medicine test today. It was uncomfortable but still better than the treadmill. Anyhow, my arteries are clear and my heart is doing great. Next up...kidney transplant!
That’s amazing!
Really? Did they give you a shot after you bombed the treadmill?
Iv got neclear stress test commi g up and im terrified honestly, do t k ow what to expect
Did the fail happen on the nuclear stress test?
I had a quad bypass in August and just had an abnormal nuclear stress test. I have a heart cath scheduled for the 5th. Praying for positive results.
Is this test danger can you have a heart attack in the long run 🏃♂️
Having a nuclear stress test this Tuesday so I can be cleared for a non cardiac surgery. I have COPD so I'm terrified.
The woman is a plant. When I had mine a man told me everything off on top and gown open in front. Embarrassing. Especially with a man in room. I kept trying to cover myself.
Huh. I just had the test Friday. I kept all clothing on. They put the leads on under my top.
This is what I'm worried about
she's a fox
Yah.it detects the diffect.
No it doesnt
R RR it detect coronary problems also blood flowing into heart and coronary if these are ok and echocardiogram ok then no need to worry i think...
