Yeah the pressure washer definitely managed to get water in the dash electronics. Open windows aren’t good but at least rain wouldn’t get forced into the dash.
I can only imagine how nice and damp the seat cushions are now. They will never dry out with the fabric on.
Ben I have faith in you and Jake. Rebuild will be awesome for your channel and I would enjoy watching your guys again. Catch you in the next video.

Rebuilt it as OEM ! This thing could be the best build of your channel (except 720S) if you do it properly. Man that's really exciting!

The block from what I see is still good. I didn’t see any cracks. Now what is cracked is the timing chain cover. And it will need a new crankshaft & maybe some piston rods. The heads are good & the block is good. Remove the engine & go from there.
I agree it still looks salvageable but only by pulling it out will know for sure

The oil pump behind that timing cover is probably toast as well as it sits right behind that cover.
@@kirksimpson3815 yes, that too. We won't know anything until V removes the engine so that way he can have a close look around the whole block

I'm SO happy you started by cleaning it. People always leave their project trashy till the very end and I dont know how they stand working in the filth! I always clean my projects first and its so much easier and enjoyable to work on them.
This will be an amazing series, Ben. If you are able to bring this back from the grave you will gain superhero status.

Ben....whenever you're working with these cars full of mold, you might want to use respiration protection. You just removed the superficial mold, almost sure there is still lots of it inside the ventilation vents/tubes (also see you tried to crank up the ventilation, not good) and probably on the trunk area. I know you hear this all of the time when you sand and paint, but mold is a serious thing. Can't wait to see what you end up doing with this C7!!!

This is one of my favourite Corvette shapes. The colour is beautiful. It would be great to see it saved and I am confident you could do it but it seems a huge project. Amazing to see the dash light up after all that time in the water and the pressure washing.

C7 is a great and is the last of the front engine Corvette. It is an awesome color and it will be sick when you guys are done!
