+vincent gilson true lil wayne is rly good , especially carter 3 to me , i think people diss him cuz he "started??" With all the yicmb bs and is now clearly not as good as before
PointGodHarden reminds me to mockingbird "I'll never forget that christmas I sat up the whole night crying cuz daddy felt like a bum, see daddy had a job but his job was to keep the food on the table for you and mom..."
If you are going through a rough patch, depressed..feeling locked away, or even feels like they have had the worse life possible... listen to this and every 8-16 bars he can tell you at least 1 thing thats happening/happened to you. Absolutely genius song by Marshall Mathers. I'd say its right up there with 2 pac & Biggie - Runnin' (which was actually produced by Eminem when they both passed away RIP) and 'If I had' by Eminem.. All 3 in my opinion in the top 10 best hip-hop songs ever. Best producer and lyrically the strongest there has ever been.
Its crazy its crazy its crazy I know we all have our trials and tribulations but when a man is alive and he can't even see or talk to his kids his wife left him didn't even say nothing after 15 you get deported and everything that you knew all your life is no longer there so when you begin to ask yourself a lot of questions so they think the purpose of life is to live life with purpose seems as if I don't have one anymore ... Hearing this song just like you said first sentence calmd me down.. have a good day
How can u "dislike" this song & call urself a hiphop fan or music fan in general!?? It's so honest & authentic feeling. And I'm ONE OF THE PICKIEST HIPHOP SNOBBERY PARTAKING ppl around! I'm barely an Eminem supporter. But this is undeniable.. "dislike" FOH!
Holy shit! I'm taking a nostalgic trip with Eminem. His early albums are dark and has black humor in them. I listen to more progressive rock and metal now but I just took a trip back to the good raps I used to listen to and all I gotta say is wow... I cannot believe I stopped listening to him. He's a genius. His word plays are crazy... Way better than 2Pac technically speaking. Other old school rappers have a more happy feeling but Eminem's first album just brings me to tears with depressing and dark songs covered with black humor... Symbolizing the hope in life no matter how messed up your life it. This reflects Eminem's life... This was him before all the money and fame. He was just a white guy struggling with his life... He had to base it off of his talent because he wasn't famous. If he got the money and fame already he wouldn't be rapping about this stuff,... He wouldn't need to try as hard. Same thing with Biggie,... His first album was just hard work and lyrical skills... His second album is about sex, money, fame, cars and hoes because of the fame he has got.
Eminem is top 5 in my book all day but what tupac lacks far as lyrically he makes up with passion and content he was a deep complex dude people Alwayz feel the need to compare rappers like nas said ain't no best everybody brings to the table what they bring eminem is a open book and I respect that but what tupac brung eminem can't what em brung tupac can't biggie did what he did all greats
This song reminds me of the struggles in my life.. But it also reminds me how beautiful rap is and that no matter how low you are you can make it to the top. I
It shows me how far i have to climb from where im at rn, but how worth it it will be if i do climb out... I gotta find something to pull me out this dump
It shows me how far i have to climb from where im at rn, but how worth it it will be if i do climb out... I gotta find something to pull me out this dump

Eminem got fired from Gilbert's Lodge five days before Hailie's birthday, which falls on Christmas, and with only $40, wrote "Rock Bottom" the same night.
I hate people who say Eminem is sellout and garbage nowadays. You idiots should understand that he almost died to overdose! That changes man! I agree that his older songs are usually better but he is still better than many mainstream rappers today! And sorry for bad grammar my English aint that good. :)
upyursmofo honesty he did fall off.Doesnt mean he is bad,but this shit is real and so is his other early albums. All he does is bitch now days, but how can u bitch when u got over 100 to your name?
Fact is, if he died due to that overdose people would complain about all the good rappers dieing. Now people are saying that he sold out (which isn't true). Damn human race is made to complain about everything!
i well naver. not stop listening to eminem music bc he my little angel form god rap is everything to me just like he is me and my son we love eminem more thin everyone out there so how can u say is there anyone out there listening to yes and my son is will stand buy it sorry if that pess u off
What i like about eminem, is i can actually understand what he's saying, and what he's saying has meaning, where as all this black rap now a days are just mumbling and "n*gga n*gga n*gga"
+IconicHD they found a formula that works and makes them rich. if you can mumble nigga nigga and get paid for it ...why the hell not then lol right? its better than staying broke and having meaningful music that know ones going to hear.
B-Mint1994 I have nothing against black people, im just saying, a lot of the rap they make contains the word nigga even when its not necessary, only two rappers i like are Hopsin and Eminem
Man this song gets me right in the feelers. So many people can relate to this song. This guy is real af you know he's been through it all, you can tell in his voice. this is rap it's a real story everyone can relate too. The lyrics and everything, beautiful song.
The thing about eminem is he wont ever forget where he comes from. I give alot of my respect towards him because his music is about his life or about stuff people can relate to.
i wood nave not stop listening to his music. it stays with me my life is aways. around eminem life if i don't listen to his music it pess me off wan people wan to say dab shit abou him if u got. something to to say i live in Perryville mo everyone in Perryvilly know how i an my name is Melissa sue Lucas. u say my name thay will tell where i am at u can push u pull shit to the side and come and find me i am not afraid to sind. up to people like u p.s love u eminem
Damn is there a song by Em I don't like? I don't think they'll ever be, he's a lyrical genius in every song he lays down. Relapse would have to be my least favorite album but in Recovery: Talkin' To Myself, he says that "The last two albums didn't count, Encore I was on drugs, Relapse I was flushing them out." In that case, all his album's are good, well, to me.
All these rich kids that don't know how it feels to be broke as fuck and have the rough life cause they think it's cool you wouldnt think it's so cool living in a abandon house in a freezing cold house and the feeling of hunger just seems to disappear and you be sitting there in the cold in the dark wishing things was better than this but before y'all be wishing be greatful what you got and all you who knows what I'm saying a better day will come
suge summer True dat too many people at my school pretending to be bad boys from the hood I'm not gonna pretend I come from there but I know people who do and it's a shit life to live
Its crazy that ive never heard this song until when I was coming back home from recruit training parris island on Pandora but yet ive been a huge fan ever since......listen to it every day now.

After all this years this is still the song I turn to when I want a little tear up this is REAL music to me at this point em really knew what the bottom was if your reading this and your feeling like you can't keep going I promise you if I can you can I hope you feel better x
Your life ain't messed up shut up. He raps about being broke and almost homeless raising a little girl trying to hang on to a minimum wage job with no respect and you think you can compare. I don't know anything but I can already tell your life messed up, if it was you wouldn't have a computer watching CZcams and you have a lot of other stuff so don't compare with old Eminem, you won't be near
I was homeless before and the block we lived on cept getting drive by's and plus I was in 3rd grade and my little sister was born and her dad got deported and who cant get a laptop or a phone dat dont mean shit I can get another phone easily me my mom and my lil sister hit the rock bottom 2 times we whet and lived with my sister dad and we was broke as fuck then we was homeless for about 2 months
One of the realest songs ever released.
The Bends
I have no idea why this song isn't that famous... I mean, it's one of the best song he ever wrote.
THE FEEEEEEEELS omg
It's cause society's expectations are out of subject.
They prefer shitty rap music like drake or lil Wayne with no fucking meaning. It's really sad
+Alan Montano. lil wayne is an artisr and i don't know why everybody diss him .. sure he's not as good as em but he's not bad tho
+Alan Montano dude i just dont care about why those songs arent popular,i used to care a but now i have 3 words : FUCK THE SOCIETY!
yep the feels are strong on this one
+vincent gilson true lil wayne is rly good , especially carter 3 to me , i think people diss him cuz he "started??" With all the yicmb bs and is now clearly not as good as before
Right from the heart. Written a couple of days before Christmas when Em only had $40 to buy Hailee a present. That's sad man.
G.O.A.TKafor "only" 40 dollars? that is not less
PointGodHarden reminds me to mockingbird "I'll never forget that christmas I sat up the whole night crying cuz daddy felt like a bum, see daddy had a job but his job was to keep the food on the table for you and mom..."
PointGodHarden pretty much where I'm at this Christmas. fuckin scks man.
Kushamphetamine me too christmas is stressful time of year bro
PointGodHarden That's just fucked
when this came out, my friends refused to listen to it because they thought it was too depressing. I still maintain, it's one of Mathers' best.

You're listening to a musical genius, remember his name

Eminem's best song for content. This song comes on when I feel like Em's first sentence. Definitely calms one down.
2pac + eminem = 😇heaven😇
eminem isn't in heaven , yet..

Both in hell
2pac is overrated
2fuk is so overrated lil Wayne better
Ayo, this song is dedicated to all the happy people
All the happy people who have real nice lives
And have no idea what it's like to be broke as fuck
I feel like I'm walkin' a tight rope without a circus net
Poppin' Percocet, I'm a nervous wreck
I deserve respect but I work a sweat for this worthless check
I'm about to burst this Tec at somebody to reverse this debt
Minimum wage got my adrenaline caged
Full of venom and rage, especially when I'm engaged
And my daughter's down to her last diaper, it's got my ass hyper
I pray that God answers, maybe I'll ask nicer
Watchin' ballers while they're flossin' in their Pathfinders
These overnight stars becomin' autograph-signers
We all long to blow up and leave the past behind us
Along with the small fries and average half-pinters
But player-haters turnin' bitch like they have vaginas
Cause we see them dollar signs and let the cash blind us
Money'll brainwash you and leave your ass mindless
When snakes slither in the grass spineless
That's rock bottom, when this life makes you mad enough to kill
That's rock bottom, when you want something bad enough to steal
That's rock bottom, when you feel like you've had it up to here
Cause you mad enough to scream but you're sad enough to tear
That's rock bottom, when this life makes you mad enough to kill
That's rock bottom, when you want something bad enough to steal
That's rock bottom, when you feel like you've had it up to here
Cause you mad enough to scream but you're sad enough to tear
My life is full of empty promises and broken dreams
I'm hopin' things look up, but there ain't no job openings
I feel discouraged, hungry and malnourished
Livin' in this house with no furnace, unfurnished
And I'm sick of workin' dead-end jobs with lame pay
And I'm tired of being hired and fired the same day
But fuck it, if you know the rules to the game, play
Cause when we die we know we all goin' the same way
Cause it's cool to be player, but it sucks to be the fan
When all you need is bucks to be the man, plus a luxury sedan
I'm comfortable and roomy in a 6
But they threw me in the mix with all these gloomy lunatics
Who walk around depressed and smoke a pound of cess a day
And yesterday went by so quick it seems like it was just today
My daughter wants to throw the ball but I'm too stressed to play
Live half a life and throw the rest away
That's rock bottom, when this life makes you mad enough to kill
That's rock bottom, when you want something bad enough to steal
That's rock bottom, when you feel like you've had it up to here
Cause you mad enough to scream but you're sad enough to tear
That's rock bottom, when this life makes you mad enough to kill
That's rock bottom, when you want something bad enough to steal
That's rock bottom, when you feel like you've had it up to here
Cause you mad enough to scream but you're sad enough to tear
There's people that love me and people that hate me
But it's the evil that made me this backstabbin', deceitful and shady
I want the money, the women, the fortune and fame
If it means I end up burnin' in hell, scorchin' in flames
If it means I'm stealin' your checkbook and forgin' your name
This lifetime bliss for eternal torture and pain
Cause right now, I feel like just hit the rock bottom
I've got problems, now everybody on my block's got em
I'm screaming like them two cops when 2Pac shot em
Holding 2 Glocks, hope your doors got new locks on em
My daughter's feet ain't got no shoes or socks on em
And them rings you wearin' look like they got a few rocks on em
And while you flaunt em I could be takin' em to shops to pawn em
I got a couple of rings and a brand-new watch, you want em?
Cause I ain't never went gold off one song
I'm runnin' up on someone's lawn with guns drawn
That's rock bottom, when this life makes you mad enough to kill
That's rock bottom, when you want something bad enough to steal
That's rock bottom, when you feel like you've had it up to here
Cause you mad enough to scream but you're sad enough to tear
That's rock bottom, when this life makes you mad enough to kill
That's rock bottom, when you want something bad enough to steal
That's rock bottom, when you feel like you've had it up to here
Cause you mad enough to scream but you're sad enough to tear
i fucking love u
+Barez Dilshad man I fucking love him too

Eminem got fired from Gilbert's Lodge five days before Hailie's birthday, which falls on Christmas, and with only $40, wrote "Rock Bottom" the same night.
I wish music was still this good.
Sabrina B agree
i can't understand how can he get any hate
It's his new music but i think his new music is still good with stuff like legacy, bad guy or shadyxv
Inessa Adler because he hates gay people and women and has insulted dozens of other rappers, celebrities and more lol
_SnapsZ He doesn't hate gays and women. He says shit to push buttons and show everyone how people take things out of context.
The End i do
_SnapsZ do what?
You can't be bored with eminem's songs
It is true how all the happy people with money will never know what it's like
If songs like this did not exist probably would if not have made it through those rough times..

+IconicHD they found a formula that works and makes them rich. if you can mumble nigga nigga and get paid for it ...why the hell not then lol right? its better than staying broke and having meaningful music that know ones going to hear.
I know so many black rappers deeper than em though
+IconicHD Not every black rapper rhymes nigga with nigga. Keep your ignorance somewhere else please.
B-Mint1994 I have nothing against black people, im just saying, a lot of the rap they make contains the word nigga even when its not necessary, only two rappers i like are Hopsin and Eminem
Who doesnt give a fuck when they're listening
me

Damn is there a song by Em I don't like? I don't think they'll ever be, he's a lyrical genius in every song he lays down. Relapse would have to be my least favorite album but in Recovery: Talkin' To Myself, he says that "The last two albums didn't count, Encore I was on drugs, Relapse I was flushing them out." In that case, all his album's are good, well, to me.
What I think makes this song 10x better is the beat ....gives it that feel
"All the happy people..who have real nice lives.." It's so true.
he sample the guitar from janis joplin?
yes! It's from Summertime
Daytimerocker Excellent sample.
Been an Eminem fan for years and for some reason never heard this song. My favorite one now.

One of my fav. Song from Eminem
There's not many songs that are this real, pure truth that anyone who has been through tough times can relate to
2017 anyone?? 😁

EMINEM is such a LEGEND he's like coming from another world.

Janis Joplin - Summertime
[Produced by Bass Brothers]
[Intro]
Ayo, this song is dedicated to all the happy people
All the happy people who have real nice lives
And have no idea what it's like to be broke as fuck
[Verse 1]
I feel like I'm walking a tight rope without a circus net
Poppin' Percocet, I'm a nervous wreck
I deserve respect, but I work a sweat for this worthless check
I'm about to burst this TEC at somebody to reverse this debt
Minimum wage got my adrenaline caged
Full of venom and rage, especially when I'm engaged
And my daughter's down to her last diaper
It's got my ass hyper
I pray that God answers-maybe I'll ask nicer
Watchin' ballers while they're flossin' in their Pathfinders
These overnight stars becoming autograph-signers
We all long to blow up and leave the past behind us
Along with the small fries and average half-pinters
But player-haters turning bitch like they have vaginas
‘Cause we see them dollar signs and let the cash blind us
Money'll brainwash you and leave your ass mindless
When snakes slither in the grass spineless
[Hook]
That's rock bottom
When this life makes you mad enough to kill
That's rock bottom
When you want something bad enough to steal
That's rock bottom
When you feel like you've had it up to here
‘Cause you mad enough to scream
But you're sad enough to tear
[Verse 2]
My life is full of empty promises and broken dreams
I'm hopin' things look up, but there ain't no job openings
I feel discouraged, hungry and malnourished
Livin' in this house with no furnace, unfurnished
And I'm sick of working dead-end jobs with lame pay
And I'm tired of being hired and fired the same day
But fuck it-if you know the rules to the game, play!
‘Cause when we die, we know we all going the same way
‘Cause it's cool to be player, but it sucks to be the fan
When all you need is bucks to be the man, plus a luxury sedan
Or comfortable and roomy in a 6
But they threw me in the mix with all these gloomy lunatics
Who walk around depressed
And smoke a pound of cess a day
And yesterday went by so quick it seems like it was just today
My daughter wants to throw the ball
But I'm too stressed to play
Live half my life and throw the rest away
[Hook]
That's rock bottom
When this life makes you mad enough to kill
That's rock bottom
When you want something bad enough to steal
That's rock bottom
When you feel like you've had it up to here
‘Cause you mad enough to scream
But you're sad enough to tear
[Verse 3]
There's people that love me and people that hate me
But it's the evil that made me
This backstabbin', deceitful and shady
I want the money, the women, the fortune and fame
If it means I end up burning in Hell, scorchin' in flames
If it means I'm stealing your checkbook and forgin' your name
This lifetime bliss for eternal torture and pain
‘Cause right now, I feel like just hit the rock bottom
I've got problems-now everybody on my block's got 'em
I'm screaming like them two cops when 2Pac shot 'em
Holding two Glocks, hope your doors got new locks on 'em
My daughter's feet ain't got no shoes or socks on 'em
And them rings you wearing
Look like they got a few rocks on 'em
And while you flaunt 'em
I could be taking 'em to shops to pawn 'em
I got a couple of rings and a brand-new watch-you want 'em?
‘Cause I ain't never went gold off one song
I'm runnin' up on someone's lawn, with guns drawn
It's songs like this that pulled me towards SSLP.
After all this years this is still the song I turn to when I want a little tear up this is REAL music to me at this point em really knew what the bottom was if your reading this and your feeling like you can't keep going I promise you if I can you can
I hope you feel better x
least his not ashamed say he hit rock bottom
tina o mahony he wrote this a xmas he got fired and had 40$ to buy her daughter a present
Very true trust me I know and I'm only 12 my life is mest up
Your life ain't messed up shut up.
How bad Eminem was feeling back then.. glad he is finally in peace. Love you my God
This song is so amazing
2016

Franki Bird ya what XD
Fuck gloomy Sunday this is much sadder
His rhymes are so complex , something you won't see in any other rapper , he is the king of rap.
For me, it's the most emotional song of this genius ! 👍
