9 games of MH3 draft without running into a single Chrys and final boss opp slams a 1-2 hydra all in. The LSV pool special was strong today
The final boss was missing colors. Their deck was probably great, just bad luck

Phelia is a messed up card. Seems every time it goes unanswered it just breaks the op
I think the issue with the format is that a lot of the words I simply can counter the other strategies. Randomly having reach and flying on these cards just shuts blue black and flyers down and of course they have the ultimate late game as the format is not super quick
yea the 4/5 tap stun eldrazi having reach is totally unnecessary. also the chrysalis being the worst offending card in the set and having reach doesn't help. they could have removed reach, and gave it just 1 eldrazi token and it'd be fine

This seems like the kind of format that is fun to watch get drafted a few times but that I wouldn't wanna put too much time into personally. Just a bit too..meh. Maybe in a week or two if people begin to discover a more diverse meta, it might be good? And maybe the bot-drafting will produce decks that are fun to play/play against? But yah.
Doesn't help I suppose that this set isn't standard legal so your not adding to your collection for the most played format on MTGA, though I am still very glad we got MH3 on arena! It could have very easily just not been put on this format at all given, you know, no modern format.
I had a Boros control deck last night after first picking Phlage and the Angels were super good for me too. I was mostly using Glimpse the Impossible to ramp into big decrees and dig for Phlage but it went 7-1. It’s nice to know even though the format feels solved there is still plenty of depth to explore.

I must admit that i disagree that Eldrazi has been pushed too hard. The top decks seems to be:
1) Gruul/Temur Eldrazi
2) Boros aggro
3) Dimir control
They seem fairly even. The color balance is pretty decent too. My top 5 drafts have been: Temur eldrazi ramp, Jeskai energy control, 2 dimir control, boros aggro.
Another great video, thanks LSV. To answer your question from earlier, I prefer the modo drafts but the arena is cool too (I love watching the hunt for 7 wins). However I don't like the powered down arena cards , one ring , minsk and boo etc. id love to see the mirage fetch lands get a shot in the cube
powered down arena cards? Just play non alchemy formats like timeless, nothing is nerfed there.

arena is cool but I appreciate the added thoughtfulness of your sideboarding. coin flip is a bit overpowered in bo1

I wonder what chicanery goes on with match making depending on your decks. It did seem odd there was no great eldrazi opponent.

"bit" too pushed?! they did. it say thing last time with eldrazi winter that we had to deal with for 2 years in standard. writhing chrysalis reminds me of oko stats mistakes. EVERY single design dial is redlined and amped up. should be a rare, counters don't need to be permanent, doesn't need 2 tokens, doesn't need mana etc etc

@@Snarkeroid ok maybe that's hyperbole but lets' go with smuggler's copter where it was: too cheap, looted on attack or block, flew, had crew 1, was a 3/3. the point being they push these archetypes and the cute toys that are the theme of the set and something always gets uber pushed
but also remember this is a COMMON and there are going to be 2-4 in a draft and since eldrazi is already seemingly the best deck in the format there isn't even a downside to drafting the best common in the set with the best archetype
@@larrychatfield you can see in just this video he beats 2 crystalis. people are overestimating how crazy the card is despite the 17lands data.

Sweet deck. Played about 6 drafts and 4 commons really irk me to no end in this format - Horrific Assualt, Nightshade Dryad, Galvanic Discharge and Chrys. Im so sick of seeing those cards. Horrific should be a Fight not a Punch. Nightshade should have No Deathtouch or no Color Fixing. Discharge is just insane in any deck and should have been an Uncommon and Chrys is OP. This format had so much promise. It looked like Rise of the Eldrazi draft from the previews but turned into Capenna for me.
Where does lsv find all these ‘do nothing’ paid actor opponents 😅

Gosh, scooping at 50:47 is such a buzz kill when you have a card in your deck that would get you out of your current predicament, even if you're at 1 life at that point. Stabilizing at one and coming back from the brink would've been sick!

Much prefer Mtgo, and very rarely will even watch Arena. One thing that would be kind of nice though is a slightly higher upload resolution for clearer cards. Even bumping up to 1440 would go along way
