Kristian Alfonso is outstanding in these scenes where her character on DAYS OF OUR LIVES, learns that her 3 year old son is dead after being hit by a car.
I was just about to say, I've heard time and time again that when family members lose loved ones -- especially when mothers lose children -- the wail out of them is so primal. It's instinctual. Sophisticated, educated words of a civilized, rational human being can never express what that deep seated grief is. I shudder to think of where she had to go as an actress to portray that character in scene.
Up until this moment, I think the audience had almost forgotten that Lexi raised that boy for the first year or so. So she was as much invested in this as Hope.
I was paralyzed, I did not expect that. And I'll say this til they lower me into the ground, Kristian Alfonso was robbed that year for an Emmy! That scream haunts me til this day. Yet I still come back and watch it.
I sat with my boyfriends best friends family as they were being told he had been killed in a car crash and you know what? It sounded exactly like that. The fact that she was able to zero in on exactly what it would take out of a grieving mother is an amazing talent. Have some respect, would you say that to an actual grieving mother? This scene could have meant a lot to one of them.
Claire's last scene ( Olivia Rose ) was her being sent 2 Bayview... Hope said she would visit her, never happened. Marlena was given the role of being her doctor ( was kinda bored w/ her character ). But @ least she is out there somewhere making music... Good job, Olivia!!
Kristian was amazing in this scene. Hard enough for any mother to lose her child, but to be able to sell this ...... tissues were needed for this scene. Love her acting.
That scream Hope lets out still echoes through my mind and chills me to the bone....It really is exactly how I picture a parent losing their child...Kristian really deserves an Emmy for this s/l.

Something is clearly wrong with the system that chooses who is nominated. Now is Diedre Hall isn't nominated for her work after John's death, then we will really know something is going on. Why does Days not get the respect it deserves?
Ahhhh. I miss how Alice Horton always called her great-grandson by his full name Shawn-Douglas Brady because that is actually Bo and Hope's son and Ciara and Chelsea's elder big brother's actual proper birth full name.
The scenes about Zach's death were horrific.. It tore me apart.. Your Right Oscar Winning Especially Hope.. They Bo, and Shawn. GREAT ACting ... It was Truly Truly Heart Breaking!! GREAT GREAT ACTING!

Devastating! She DEFINITELY should have won an Emmy for this scene. Phenomenal acting job! And....I know it's not the same thing, (this involves the death of a child) but this is EXACTLY how I felt, the day my mother died.
Hope's reaction gets me, but I think Bo's is just as heartbreaking. It's like he can't comprehend what has just happened. Like, he's doing everything in his power to keep from breaking down, but he's just about to lose control.
What happened to Zach Brady was Tragically I just hope he would come back into another storylines in the future / Christian Maddox Backstory combination

That unison of emotion between Lexie and Hope was and still is so powerful. Most people can't fake that kind of feeling, but they can.
As a mother, this made me cry hysterically when it aired and now almost 4 yrs later, i still cry when I see it
