I did everything right to make the image transfer work, but when I pulled the print... nothing!! I've never had this experience before, but I kept going and I worked out what the problem was. Oh wow! I have trouble with my transfers and thought that maybe it was the brand of paint or that the heavy body type wasn’t good for transfers. I never ever thought that maybe it was the actual print. Thanks so much for this information!
It's definitely the print copy, the paint brand really doesn't matter too much. Just not too thick, but the print copy is vital!! Happy creating, cheers Froyle

This was fabulous!!! I have wondered how other colors of paint would work in an image transfer - and I love it!!! Why does everyone always use black? I suppose needing to have a good contrast is important, but that white was wonderful!!! Thank you!

What a bummer that they moved. You had me on the floor with the car. So funny. That certainly was a great learning experience. That's interesting that the white worked well. Seemed as if dark first light last was the way with portraits. I love it with the tile. I wonder how the opera house would do on white??

yes ! finally the solution! i hope to my laser prints. I went to Staples one day and got some prints of my images and they transferred beautifully .
well that's Staples closed and I had to go to another Staples and their copies would not transfer! !@#$%
I'm so happy I'm not the only person this has happened to and now I know I need to ask for "color" laser copy like you mentioned in order to get a transfer.

Too bad about the first transfer. But it’s just paper! 😂😂😂. I find I must print on highest quality selected on my printer to have a good transfer. I have even considered printing on shiny freezer paper in order to have a brilliant transfer. ❤️ your channel!

I tried Staples here in Canada and it didn't transfer. How do I know where to go to get the right kind of print that will work? Is there something specific I need to ask?
I think it will just be trial & error. I know here in New Zealand The Warehouse Stationary prints work every time, but only in colour not black & white. When I used prints from an online print shop, the transfers failed every one of them! That’s not fun! Haha! You’ll just have to try different places 👍🏼😘 cheers Froyle

I don't know about home printers, I get my laser copies from Warehouse Stationary here in NZ, I know they will work from there! Cheers Froyle

This happens to me all the time in Australia from Office Works it fails .probably they don't use dark enough toner.

Try Amsterdam acrylic, its the best for transfers. That's what works best for me

lovely work. I am new to this technique and I dont know what i am doing wrong but cant transfer newspaper or photos from magazines, maybe this is the gel plate i made myself but done it with instruction from youtube. what do you thing, any ideas?
Magazines are a lot harder to transfer from, very hit & miss. I use good quality colour laser prints from the office shop because I know they will work! 👍🏼 Give this a try, cheers Froyle

At 10:03, HOOOOW did you manage to pull that second layer print? Mine has been failing every single time, the first layer stays on the plate and refuses to budge until I am forced to start over and clean it with mineral oil, just to get it off the plate
You have to make sure the first layer is dry 👍🏼 Use a good brand with high pigment load like Golden sometimes that makes a difference & then what paper are you pulling it with? I have found glassine works best when something is being stubborn! Happy creating! 😘 cheers!

I got some laser print copies at FedEx and none of them worked. I'm going to try another shop, but only get 5 this time, just in case it doesn't work again.

@@FroyleArt Love creating.collage using found papers,used papers,papers with text,some of your inspiration papers made with bubble wrap , gallery glass, stained and painted tissue, stencils, ink. . Well I could go on and on but that covers alot of what I use in my collages. However you have been inspiring and I love watching you on youtube
I think I have read that you need to use laser prints and not ink jet in order for this to work, perhaps that’s the difference
Yes I used laser prints definitely! But it also depends on where you get those print copies! Some office shop don’t print well enough to create the image transfer, there needs to be enough ink & toner on the print to repel the paint so that it sticks to the plate! 👍🏼 it’s a lot of fun, I love it! 😘 cheers Froyle
