Why oh why wouldn't they pick him as a cohost? Instead we get low energy Ryan Seacrest who's ALL voice and scripted announcing. Kelly shouldn't be the only funny one. I feel like when Ryan speaks without a script he's seeking approval. Oh well. I just don't think he's the right choice for this gig. Jerry would have been great. I never really cared for him as an actor but became a fan through his appearances on Live. I found him independently funny and interesting with a modern family point of view. It was refreshing seeing them work together.

Jerry O'Connell is too much of a clown. Sorry, but I find him extremely off-putting. He's trying way, way too hard to be amusing or entertaining or something, and none of it feels genuine. As much as I also dislike Ryan Seacrest, they made the better choice.
Nah, no way is this is everyday regular personality. This is the textbook definition of theatrical overacting, or "chewing the scenery" or "hamming it up" by being overly flamboyant. It might be his go-to behavior for live performance, but it's definitely trying too hard.
