My 16y/o daughter just had an mri, she was complaining of sever hip pain, with left outside of foot numbness and the back of her leg is numb as well. Turns out the pain in not actually in her hip. She has a slipped disc that is blocking that S1 nerve also another protrusion of another disc that is not hitting a nerve, that they can see. No we have to go to a spinal doctor to see how to fix this. She had been living with this for 5 months now...her pain level is pretty bad at times. It is safe that it takes so long to get help. All doctors want to do is check for this, check for that, then x-ray, which never shows anything, then last resort is an MRI. Now we wait another month and a half just to see another doctor. As much as we get charged this is really unacceptable. 16 and having to deal with this non sense. So I hope if u are watching this tryin to find some relief for u or a loved one, I hope you find it sooner than what it is taking us.

I like to call this, running you through the cash register. For each doctor you go to, they want to get as many co-pays out of you as possible. Once they can't find the issue, they push you along to another doctor. If you go to a neurologist, you will most definitely be run through the cash register.

Been having this pain in my left foot, calf and leg since about August 2021. Have had hard time walking, hiking, sitting, standing etc. I'm 41 years old and in otherwise good health. Thought perhaps it was plantar fasciitis, went to podiatrist, got orthotics and no improvement. Went to Physical Therapist with no relief. Went to neurologist and she administered an EMG scan of all the nerves in my left leg. Sure enough she discovered a signal problem in the nerve off my S1. She believes it's pinched/compressed. Now I'm pushing to get an MRI to determine if I have a slipped, bulging disc, or some other issue. The pain in my foot, calf, leg and now lower back aren't dissipating, and I need my life back!

I have the same issue, with same EMG results, I also had an MRI, which shows I have multiple disc bulges 2/3mm of the lower spine. Did the PT and orthotics even plantar fasciitis injections as I had originally thought was that. Long story short, I suffer from Radiculopathy and have nerve root compression but nothing has relieved my symptoms. Will have to see if Surgery would be my next choice. Have you found a solution?

@@user-sj9yn4ml3q it did correct and now I'm back to normal. I started doing back bends with my hands in waist and bending backwards with a few seconds hold. Then I did some back bends laying stomach flat on the floor and pushing my upper torso up with my hands. Basically a push up with legs staying on the floor and only my upper torso lifting. Do these daily and you should have relief. You will notice everything starting to correct itself gradually. Stay consistent with doing it. You can even lean up against a counter and bend backwards. All of this back bending takes pressure off the disc and allows it to heal and in doing so will bring feeling back to the foot and lower leg. Hope this helps you out, it did wonders for me.

Ortho EVAL Pal With Paul Marquis
If I could give you a brief description of my diagnosis.
Been experiencing this for a while now, 4-5 years.
My Primary Doctor was not that supportive when I mentioned an MRI, so I just lived with it.
I started getting extreme cramping in my left side of my back along with radiating pain down my left leg.
After 5 visits to the ER, I was given Tramadol which helped with the cramping but not with sciatica. Prior to all of this I did p/t for 6 weeks.
Making a long story short, I got the MRI and then saw the pain Doctor and this is what he did.
Immediately he put me on Meloxicam, which helped with the cramping. The MRI saw normal findings with exception of the L5 S1 which showed the disc impeding the sciatic nerve. An epidural injection was scheduled and I’ve been pain free for a week now. Honestly, it has changed my
life. My question is, what will happen with this chronic condition moving forward? Will it return back to the way it was once the medicine wears off? When will the medicine wear off? I am aware of procedure that removes the disc. Should i assume that PT works for some conditions, but not for all? Thank you for your time.....
