Hey Justin. My name is Sierra. I'm 17, and I've been singing all my life. And I've been complimented on it my whole life whether the compliment be for my friends from teachers and peers from my pass or my parents. But I'm lowkey insecure about my voice. Every time I hear my voice say to myself ugh I wish I sound better. I love watching your videos especially the ones about BTS.

I'm a 79-year-old lady from New York, U.S.A., and when I came across his singing video by mistake, it was a blessing. At the time I was going through a hard time, and hearing his voice, even though I didn't understand a word, went straight into my heart and changed me. He sings not only with his emotional heart but goes deep inside and sings with his soul. I spiritually adopted him as my grandson and call him "MY LITTLE ONE" whenever I place a comment after every video I hear him sing. The first agency I understand, he worked for, overused him to the point that he got an illness that damaged his voice and has to be on medication for the rest of his life. You will notice on his later videos, that he drinks out of a water bottle with medicine in it. He still sings beautifully, but can't seem to hit those high notes for a long time. He still can hit them but can't seem to hold them like before. He still can sing loud and sing a long-phrase within one long breath. His voice also seems to have mellowed out like a fine wine. I am his devoted fan for the rest of my time, even after I'm on the other side.

Just so you're aware, this song is about all the difficulties he's had in life. It's a very hard song for him to perform because of how emotional the song is for him. A close friend committed suicide, and he had a number of other struggles I don't know well enough to go into.

    • @lwor1223
      @lwor1223 Před 4 lety +239

PHS survived incredible difficulties in his 20 yr career. He wrote Wild Flower (w JJI) in some of his darkest days. PHS : lost 1 of his staunchest friend who was like an older brother to suicide, endured health-crises from abusive chronic overwork/physical exhaustion indirectly leading to permanent vocal-injury, lost his already precarious financial security due to nonpayments from previous agencies, then forced to file bankruptcy as a previous agency (not Jellyfish) sued him repeatedly. This song is an emotional anthem for his musical rebirth and resilience : he is the WF and the you refers to his lost music. Like many of his songs, WF is deeply personal & autobiographical. IMO, PHS is 1 of the most restrained yet sensitively-nuanced singer out there; no unnecessary vocal gymnastics ever because he is a true storyteller and frankly, he doesn't need nor care to show off. The rarest gift, just pure voice.

A living legend. He’s 39 and when he announces an upcoming concert ( by the way he performs every concert for 3-4 hours) it is SOLD OUT SRO in less than 15 minuets. ( 50,000 screaming fans). Please react next to his 2015 Happy Together” concert where he performs a heartwarming ballad titled “ it’s you” ( please click the 4:00 fancam Version with ENG SUB ( English subtitles). There is no official live version ( only an MV) and thank the gods in Heaven a fancam was able to record this song with excellent sound quality and this emotionally impactful song will be watched and listened to for decade after decade generation after generation. It ranks in my top 10 ballads of all time and being in the music business for 40 years I have listed to over 10,000 ballads by all the world class male vocalists from the the 1950s onward ( I’m 75) and none are better than Park Hyoshin when it comes to pure heartwrenching and heartwarming ballads. Yes, Dimash the best male pop-op vocalist in the world and perhaps in the history of mankind, but doesn’t even come close to Park Hyoshin when it comes to love/love lost ballads with voice alone. In “it’s you” he SOARS where only angels tread.
And believe it or not, he performed during this concert the same song twice and he is so consistent that the majority of people I told this to thought it was the same song sung only once by only one fancam. So for the second version without the subtitles, please CZcams “150215 it’s you” (3:49 duration) and you’ll note on this second version recorded by another fancam he doesn’t touch the mic but did on the first. Best ballad vocalist in the world, my friend. Many many more to react to.

His last few concerts (since 2014) most run over 4 to 5+ hours now with no fillers. Its a running joke at his concerts when PHS tries to close off the concerts (so audience won't miss their last public-transportation rides home) but his audience tries in different ways (eg with impromptu song requests) to delay the ending. Also imagine the incredible stamina it takes to sing (even considering the ment/comment segments) for that duration and not lose your voice.

Park Hyo Shin is one of the most sublimely gifted singers in Korea, now you've discovered him I'm so happy for you because he is a joy to listen to. For those who love and understand great singing, he is an inspiration. You said something important about not being particularly concerned about needing to know what he is singing while listening, just really listening to the colors and nuances of his voice and his performance. For me, as an English speaker only, I discovered this as well when I first started to listen to the music coming out of Korea. I listened to the vocal quality and performance and to the emotion behind it, I found that was engrossing enough. There are many brilliant performers working in Korea now - everyone there sings regularly in Karaoke it seems - you'll find the great ones if you wish to.

OUT. I literally had to pull my car over. If this man ever produced a gospel album I would convert. He is the truth, and like you said he doesn't need to do a lot to get his message across. Whether it be his mother's tongue or a simple hum, you understand it and it stays with you. Peace

The pianist is the music director of Paracite.

Thank you for your reactions to Park Hyo Shin the Most Amazing Voice in the World. The first time I saw it in Seoul I cried like a baby and still do when I hear it. However, since 2000 a day does not go by that I do not see and hear Park Hyo Shin.
Park Hyo Shin’s “Wild Flower” topped charts in only three days since its release!
“Wild Flower” was released on March 28 KST and by March 30 KST had secured the number 1 spot on Melon, Mnet.com, Bugs Music, Soribada, Naver Music, Daum Music, Monkey 3, Genie, and Olleh Music real-time charts! This is known as an "All Kill"
Park Hyo Shin is a member of a very elite group called Kimnaparklee, a term coined to refer to the four best male singers in South Korea along with Kim Bum Soo, Naul, and Lee Soo.
Written, Composed and Performed by Park Hyo Shin you will feel the Raw Emotions he pours into this and more than likely brings out in the listener.
His voice is perfectly controlled yet relaxed. He knows how to explode the emotion, not the voice volume at the climax.
Lyrically, “Wild Flower” is a metaphor for the tumultuous life Park Hyo-shin has had. The wildflower blooms in the winter, facing all the harshness of the cold. While it may wilt, it will bloom again despite all the struggles it faces. In the metaphor, “winter” is all the harsh realities that Park Hyo-shin has had to face. He is constantly facing his past, which causes him to struggle. However, like the wildflower, Park holds on until the past is no longer holding him back. Park is blooming again through his music.
The MV for “Wild Flower” isn’t even a traditional video. It’s a one-take live filmed in Buan County in Jeonbuk middle of nowhere with no vegetation. Well, that’s different. Yes, other people have made MVs in the middle of the desert, but Park Hyo-shin’s MV does it without all the special effects, editing, backing music, etc.
Hyo Shin pours his heart and soul into “Wild Flower” because it is his life personified. It takes courage to be so open about struggles. But as an artist, he uses his music to express his life, and to touch those who are also going through struggles.
If you really want emotion watch his live performance here.

    • @user-dp5uw3tw3h
      @user-dp5uw3tw3h Před 4 lety

I don't think he is a tenor. I know he can sound amazing in such high notes, but his voice gets definitely sharper than that of a regular tenor's. But I have to acknowledge here there are quite a lot of subjective perspectives when talking about voice level(?).

    • @melodycao5376
      @melodycao5376 Před 4 lety +2

@@user-dp5uw3tw3h I copied this from his vocal analysis
'One of the most peculiar and often discussed things amongst the public happens to be Park Hyoshin’s voice type. Due to a huge misconception, it is often believed that the thicker the tone of the voice, the lower the person’s voice is. However the issue with trying to give someone a voice type based off of the tone quality of the voice is that in pop music, tone is often stylistically changed. A person may have a husky quality to their voice due to stylistic reasons, natural causes or even improper technique. So oftentimes Park Hyoshin is mislabelled as a baritone because people believe that a baritone has a “thick voice,” and therefore anybody with a thick voice must be a baritone.
Contrary to common belief, one’s voice type should be found by looking at their passaggi, instead of their tone quality. The tone quality will tell the listener the specific fach of a vocalist, however the main aspect of one’s voice type is mostly found by the natural passaggi. So the notes in which the voice naturally switches in tone quality and muscle coordination from chest voice to mixed voice and from mixed voice to head voice. Thus although it may have been believed that Park Hyoshin was a baritone, he lacks the bass-quality in the second octave portion of his range. His mixed voice doesn’t start until about D4, which indicates that his voice sits much higher than even a lyric baritone, whose mixed voice starts around B3. As such Park Hyoshin is and has always been a tenor who, due to the large size of his voice and its natural thickness, seems more likely to be a full lyric tenor.'
