Smile Fest 2024: Blue Archive & NIKKE anime figures rule!

- A small anime figure event, Smile fest 2024, took place in Tokyo on 22nd - 23rd of June 2024 , last weekend, where we saw Blue Archive, Goddess of Victory Nikke, Nier Automata figures ruled, while Azur Lane, Girl's Frontline and FGO has lesser figures. Times are changing perhaps? I'm very happy though, and I have a long wishlist from this event!

The tiga tiger and bunny are a first to my knowledge from freeing it looks like they are releasing a 1/6 or 1/7 version not sure on size but slighlty smaller from the 1/4
My big takeaway is that Goodsmile is going balls deep into model kits now. Works for me.
i wish i still have the patience for model kits. There are a lot of gundam kits that I want
@@EXkurogane I feel that. The entire underside of my desk is unbuilt model kits. Tho most of mine are anime girls.
When we got to Shanghai with the Nikke figures, when he said "I want one", he sounds like a boy in a candy store.
20:22 Yea I’ve seen those Amakuni figures pop up on AmiAmi preowned, they’re nearly ¥70k for both, I was actually thinking of getting them, I’ll hopefully pick them up at some point.
15:23 Oh my God look at that Momo bunny, it’s so nice, and I actually have the opposite opinion, I prefer bunny figures sitting or kneeling. But I absolutely love the poses on both of these, Yami looks great too. I’m not a bunny collector but I’m definitely getting these.

Ill keep an eye out for that other Motoko Pop Up L. Those things are usually very nicely priced for what we get
4:09 Oh, I didn’t know Revolve changed their name to Claynel, I have their Asuka & Mari 1/7 scale figures and they’re excellent.
Regarding Uma Musume, the girls names are likely to be inspired by the racing horse names of the current era - if you ever witness a racing match, these horses often have wacky/auspicious names often choosen by their owners.
On the Taiga ones, the released ones are 1/4 while they are now doing 1/6.
Glad to see a firefly figure announced so soon. Surprised to see its GSC and not Apex, just hope they are just as good. Please do Acheron next!
Albedo in her armor is something I've wanted for a while now, but I just don't know if I like that figure or not. Have to wait and see it painted.
The DMM maid figures I liked. The Dynazenon Rikka figure is really nice to.
One of the few times I’m super excited after reveals from these festivals. I wanted an Owari really bad, I’ll happily take a lewd Asanagi..and BACHE, my all time favorite?! Rip my wallet but I’m excited about it
Yes shfiguarts is bandai 1/12 scale action figures, and figuarts it's their scale figures.
And plamax is model kit from max factory, and moderoid is model kit from GSC, PLAMATEA is model kit collaboration between GSC and Max factory.
I NEED that Pink OC FREEing bunny at 11:50, she is so pretty with the small details and the colors (teal hair inside, pink outside)

It’s hard to believe that so many figures of Miku actually sell, there’s just an endless amount of figures of her being released.
Same. My guess is that it's just a west ideology. I've seen people who just collect miku figures and will have bookshelves full of just miku but they're few and far between. Maybe cause the people that buy it are all japanese people so the convos don't happen much over here.
Miku was a cultural sensation in the early 2000s. Might be a nostalgia thing and young girls might like it over here cause of that one rhythm game. The same girls that grow up watching bungou stray dogs, haikyuu, etc

I was waiting for a licenced figure of Firefly, I hope is as good as the 3rd party. Taking into consideration that the maker is good smile. I hope they deliver.

52:15 Part of me hopes that this will end up in the bargain bin after release so I can get it for cheap but Azur Lane's Asanagi is designed by *the* Asanagi, so I'm afraid aftermarket value might rise instead if it's chased by both AL fans and Asanagi fans.
The Freeing Aisaka Taiga unconfirmed price is due to its 1/6th compared to the previous version, which is 1/4th. Both figures have been released in 1/4 a long time ago but now they are just making it 1/6
Ohhhh now that is really random. I never thought Freeing will do 1/6. I did not pay attention to the scales and just assumed they are all 1/4s

@@mirrorline1 i think it is more of a cost problem rather than space. Figures have gotten too expensive (and that is even truer for the Japanese who had to deal with the weakening yen)

And it is especially rough when you know both Blue Archive and Hololive are popular enough to the extent where there is a likelihood of their values going up, regardless of how the figures turn out
