Cecchetti Method - Pointe Work 1988

  • 1988 instructional video taught by Barbara Fewster, principal dancer at the London Royal Ballet, director of the Royal Ballet School, and also creator of the ISTD syllabus for beginner pointe.
    The dancer is Deborah Noakes, and the music and production is by Ross Alley.
    The full video is titled "Pointe by point" and is near 45 minutes long. Sadly I couldn't get a longer footage.
    This video is extremely interesting because it shows the roots of english ballet in the technique and method of italian Enrico Cecchetti, even with some connections to russian ballet. These can be seen at the technique of springing up and down of pointes, and for some connections to the 1800's ballet, like in the use of term "temps lié".
