The van companies are riding a downward wave at the present. Sales have slowed nationally and price adjustments will come. Personally, the van is too big and top heavy for real off-reading. They have a place in the market. But $300,000 for van is a bit much. You have the right idea, $25,000 is much more practical. Great video !
With the cost of the van plus 25k and up for the conversion you're still spending 100 grand or more. Definitely out of my price range.

If somebody tries to charge $300,000 for a kitted out van then they're ripping you off, pure and simple. That's more expensive than a fucking house.
I watched because I was interested in what their van kits looked like, but you were kind of annoying.
Let Google-employed hipsters spend the money and buy used from them at a substantial discount, hopefully. I think the vans that cost several hundred thousand dollars are actually targeted toward people, young people, that work for tech companies and pretended to the environmentalists on the weekend.
Great to see a sensible solution compared to the ridiculously priced van builds.
That's a great setup. I think you're the only creator that remembers that most people have a budget. This other creator showing off her new 250k van like it's just pocket change and half the systems didn't even work right away.

Doc, the van build is amazing. I love the look of everything you chose. The biggest thing is all the room you have. Of course, as you stated, none of your belongings are in the van at the moment. I'm always impressed by how clearly you explain the technical details , you obviously do your homework , and as a novice i'm grateful for your explanations . Also i agree , why spend hundreds of thousand when this vehicle will provide all you need for a fraction of that . Looking forward to future adventures .
Finally an affordable van build. Those expensive van builds are great to look at but not achievable for most people.

Hi Hannah!👋 Like your choice of finish, blond wood and grey tweed adds a higher end feel! I think those swivel seats are a must given the added versatility to the space for a pretty small price. Can’t wait to see where you take this rig, 👍✌

Hello my dear Dr. Hannah. What have you brought me today? Ahhh, a van conversion! I’ve been looking into these quite heavily lately and Timber is one of the kits I found. I love the idea of a single, useful design that allows for a simple construction to keep costs down and the option of doing it yourself is a great idea. You say I can fit my Yurt, that information is so useful, so many vans are not Yurt-friendly 😜 Essentials…curling iron ✅ blow dryer ✅ , storage for tasty snacks and a fridge for fun pizza ingredients, what more could a girl want 🤔 I appreciate the crazy electronic sensor sounds you serenaded me with, just lovely. Thanks for taking me along on this “adventure”, until next time 🤗

Nice job kiddo looks pretty sharp. The only initial thing I saw I would want to add something to is the cubbies. I would put some sort of internal flush mount magnetically held rigid screen on them to prevent fall out. They wouldn't have to cover the whole hole, this would allow for quick grabs. But as you state, it can be modified for personal use.

Great build , seems to have everything that you want .
Only thing I would add would be rod holders on the passenger side
And the swivel chairs are a terrific touch .

Hay Hannah, that's cool, I keep my hand/scratch built (by yours truly) 250cc V-twin 70's style enduro motorcycle, right in my front foyer of my house. It took me almost 4 years to build it and it turned out nicer than I was even hoping for. But I just finally got around to painting it and man, this paint job is the coolest I've ever done so far, by far... It's silver glitter, with 27 coats of clear coat. It's like WOOOW!!!!😂

Now this makes a lot more sense as it is far more practical so to speak Hannah! $200,000+ for a build is completely nuts as you are spot on in terms of buying some land/property instead. The room inside of this is amazing in the video and looks far more roomy than your truck w/camper on it. I also like a lot less electronic "goo" as it is nice when it works but when it does not - pain in the neck and expensive to repair. Looking very forward to seeing this in future videos. Did you keep your truck-camper though or are you going to see how this works out first?? Cool! 😎😎😎

Very nice simple and functional Sprinter build....I like it.
The Baltic Birch looks nice smart choice and lightweight.
Overhead shelf for more storage drivers area above.
A set of 4 season insulated window coverings.....that exposed metal will get hot and cold in those climates.
They have some insulated drop down rear curtains that also have a bug screen.
I really like your van build because of its simplicity.
Most vans you see out there are way over the GVWR for safe legal road travel.

Ah....there you are Doc. Checked your channel last night to see if maybe I'd missed something. I wish some backyard genius could come up with a truly feasible A/C for vans and small campers. 100+ degrees sure takes the enjoyment out of things. I like the simpler is better reasoning behind this kit.

This is a decent starting point. As you use it you’ll find the upgrades you’ll want or need later. Always start mid and use it. Then the upgrades that you’ll want will come into focus.

My dad bought a sprinter for a work vehicle and had it fitted. Think the parents plan is to eventually convert for camping. Great choice.

That is a pretty sick van. Another good thing I would account for would be weight. In a simple build with the price of gas the less weight you carry the better. EX 4x4 E150 owner here. MY E-150 was sold bc of gas price and its horrible mileage(non-Diesel). Have fun with that van.

Thank you for measuring the bed area :) Yes, plenty of sleeping area, unless you are like me, 6' 3". If you can't stretch out your legs, you will eventually get hamstring cramps, and those are extremely painful and can even possibly cause damage.

I sure wish this was available back in 2019 when I built mine out! LOL Mine did turn out looking like a $200,000 build (because I'm such a perfectionist) but man oh man what I would have given for ease and head scratching for this back then. Great build!
