I love that moment when he says, "I woke last night to the sound of thunder." There's something about his voice that conveys the impression of age, looking back on your younger years. It's little moments like this that sets a great artist apart from the others.

Nobody, not Zeppelin, not Floyd, NOBODY, can cause you to long for the youth that is gone in such a smooth way as Bob Seger. He can make watching a pretty stripper walk away and make it sound sweet and innocent and beautiful. Matter of fact, he does just that in his song "Main Street" which you definitely need to listen to.

I met him once at Briarwood, it was late 70's possibly early 80's . I was with my dad and he actually recognized my dad and came up to us, they went to school together.
The singer looks back across the seasons (spring and summer) of his life with such fondness ("with autumn closing in") and in the end he is giving in to a cry of anguished sadness that those days are gone.

He’s from my home town in Michigan so I grew up listening to his music with my Dad. I was so lucky to grow up in the 60s and 70s listening to music like this.

Long story short, it's about an older man looking back at when he was young and having his first time with a girl he was in love with. Nostalgia, realizing everything changes, having no real regrets about it.
As I was growing up I remember a lot of different songs that I enjoyed with my friends and all the good times I had but this song I listened to myself. This isn't a song I wanted to listen to with friends. This is a song I wanted to listen to alone. A melancholy song that was just relaxing and made me long for my youth even though I was still a teenager. It is a very personal song for me. To me, a song about things, places and people I regret not knowing more. A song that makes me feel alone without being lonely. That's how I spent most of my time when younger. Still miss my time spent being happy alone.

A lot of his songs are basically nostalgia, if you could turn nostalgia into music. It adds feelings that an average listener wouldn't pick up on and even some females. This song gives you the retrospective of those teenage times that at the time, you didn't realize were coming to pass. You are in your prime (the summer), you felt like it would last forever. The autumn signified the end of those times...autumn moving in..the ending of the good times, the girl, being young. Change. Some guys tend to be nostalgic about "the good old days" This song captures us looking back on that, in retrospective. This is just my take on the song though. I really enjoy your reactions. You have 1000s more to go!

This is one of my all time favorite songs, yet it saddens me, because it reminds me of a simple time that is now long gone. This world has gone crazy, what once was wrong is now right, and what was right is now wrong. I miss the times that made sense, and music was pure and real with real talent! This song brings back memories for me. In particular when this came out, I was living in Nebraska and at the time the drinking age was 19, so buddy and I hooked up with a couple of chicks and drove down to Kansas (In a Chevy van) where the drinking age was 18. On the way there we were playing this album. This song worked perfectly.🎸👿😁

Moren, this is a song written for everyone. Everyone has their first teenage 'love' where you're sneaking off every chance you had for 'alone' time with your partner. Discovering passion, but not having a clue what to do with it. It's all about remembering that age of innocence we all had.

This was released my senior year of high school and it gave me a wistful, melancholy feeling of a long-lost past as if I'd been transported in time to my old age. Now I am old and it feels just the same.

Bob Seger starded his own group 1968 The Bob Seger System. But the succes was not huge.
In 1974 Bob Seger he formed the group Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band. The Silver Bullet Band was a backing band. Mo keep uploading the video's.

I once posted a list of 20 Seger songs for my friends and said "how many of these do you know", and most people were shocked that they knew all of them. People don't realize how many great songs he's done until you start looking at his discography. When people ask "who are the under rated rock stars" he's always one of the first acts that come to mind (along with Doobie Brothers).

"Night Moves" is probably one of the most-played of his hits. This was a song that you'd put on while driving around Motown (Detroit) in the summer, with the windows down and the music turned up loud. Ah, the memories! Thanks Mo.
