“Practicing Tai Chi makes people slow down physically and mentally. If you are a person with a hot temper, it helps calm down your temper and it is a very good exercise. In addition to Tai Chi, the Taoism also has Qigong and Baduanjin that teach you how to breathe correctly and make you feel happy. These are all very good for people.”

“Tai Chi applies the theory of balance between yin and yang, and it has eight techniques and thirteen forms: quiver, stroke, squeeze, press, pick, spar, elbow and lean. One needs to keep the body straight and centre-balanced while moving back and forth, left and right. These techniques are suitable for many people to practice. It has very good flexibility and its basic concept is to teach people how to overcome the hardship with softness.”

“I feel more relaxed. I'm more stress free. I'm able to handle a difficult situation better. You know in Taoism we have the phrase ‘chi ku’, like ‘eating bitter’. And we all know that good medicine is bitter. So it's a challenge, but it's something that we can accept. And we know that this medicine will improve our life so we can relax, We can, you know, learn to move forward. So I think this is a big principle in Tai Chi, you know, being able to redirect pressure, being able to redirect conflict. We talk about blocking a punch, but we also block bad emotion, too. So this kind of idea is very prevalent.”

“The martial arts can teach you to be healthy, but the philosophy and the practice behind Taoism can teach you how to be a better person, can teach you how to be more relaxed emotionally, because, there's a lot of stress in today's world, there's a lot of conflict, and there's something lacking because we don't have a clear path to take. But I think with Taoism, it's a path that lasts forever. You know, it's always…it's nature, so you can observe it. You can, you know, ‘Dao Fa Zi Ran’ - follow nature -very quickly. And when we find these principles, that's a much easier way to improve our lives.”
