That gung inside of the socket is electrical grease that the factory puts in them
I started my Motor Mechanic apprenticeship in 69 and we stripped every faulty component and replaced parts whether it was a carburetor with a tiny little jet or starters alternators engines gearboxes and differentials etc,we never replaced the whole part unless it was necessary,nowadays they are technicians not mechanics,the just plug the car in to diagnose the fault and replace the offending unit,we are a throw away nation now not a repair nation as it's not financially viable to spend time on the job,another great video

American cars have twin terminal bulbs in red rear lights one is side light the other terminal is brake light and indicator is same terminal
When rewired for uk red lens change for orange and side light and brake light circuit disconnected so only one terminal needed for indicator signal
Hope this explains it for you guys

Gm some times used a socket with 1 terminal uses a 2 terminal bulb that stuff in there was grease at one time. Probably lithium grease
I've never seen someone use power extension cable along with electric wire to wire speakers, It's almost like factory specifications 😂😂😂😂

Hello Martin, my Vectra c 2005 has car/spanner light on from start and long crank only on 1st start of day. No Codes showing up. Light disappears couple of minutes into ride. Any ideas mate?

I like your watch that told you it was very near to Christmas, where did you get it from?
On several newer car models, there is absolutely nothing left of the lamp contacts, rust and corrosion have wiped them out completely. So it's pretty good anyway on a nice car from 1991. Is it one with Tpi?

What really boggles my mind, driving an hour to get the car inspected. in my state, there are inspection stations everywhere, car dealerships, quick oil change places, and an actual " Mr. Inspection" business located all around the city. All they do, are car inspections 6 days a week. So will you help him change out the speakers next time? 😂😂

I don't know how that rear number plates passed the mot test because they are not spaced correctly. I used to do mot testing and the specs in the mot manual say "must be the correct size, stroke width and spacing"

Looks like the Bakelite stuff has disintegrated.. yanks don’t have indicator bulb it’s usually flashing tail light bulb
MOT tester should have pulled it on the number plate for illegally spacing in the letters and no details of the plate manufacturer.
Why could you not just video of the bulb working as most people have whatsapp and smart phones now days and print a mot certificate out at home

What a badly maintained car, all that rubbish, leaves etc. in there. Surprised that it passed its MOT with that illegal number plate, it hasn't got the correct spaces between the numbers and letters.
