- In this evocative video, Simerjeet Singh delves into the timeless wisdom of Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken," a poem that speaks to the very essence of individual choice and the bravery of forging one's own path. As someone who stepped away from the comfort of the conventional to embrace the unpredictable journey of a motivational speaker, Simerjeet embodies the poem’s message.
His life, akin to the roads in Frost's forests, has been a testament to the power of unconventional decisions. His transition from the hospitality industry to motivational speaking in 2007 was a leap of faith, a quintessential example of taking 'the road less traveled by,' and that indeed has made all the difference.
Through this reading, Simerjeet invites his audience, especially the youth, to contemplate the roads before them. He urges them to embrace risk, to engage with the spirit of entrepreneurship, and to recognize the value in what sets us apart in the age of AI-our human ingenuity. His voice, seasoned by experience and passion, not only revives Frost’s verses but also imparts a modern-day relevance that encourages viewers to reflect on the choices that define their journeys.
This video is more than a reading; it's a call to action. It is Simerjeet's rallying cry for the viewer to dare to dream, to step into the unknown, and to relish the profound impact of choosing a path that is authentic and true to one’s self. As we navigate through an era where the lines between human and artificial intelligence blur, the message of this poem-and Simerjeet’s interpretation-resonates even stronger, urging us to claim the unique and irreplaceable value of our individual human experiences.
The Road Not Taken (Road Less Traveled)
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
By Robert Frost
About Robert Frost: Robert Frost was an iconic American poet whose work encapsulated the themes of nature, rural life, and human emotion with profound simplicity. Born on March 26, 1874, in San Francisco, California, Frost's poetry is often interwoven with the landscapes of New England, reflecting both the beauty and harshness of the natural world.
Beyond "The Road Not Taken," Frost's other notable works include "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" and "Mending Wall," which meditate on the intersection of the human experience with the natural environment. His poetry often explored complex social and philosophical themes through the prism of pastoral imagery, earning him four Pulitzer Prizes for Poetry during his lifetime. Frost's legacy as a poet is marked by his mastery of the spoken word and his ability to convey rich, layered meanings in seemingly simple verses. His influence endures not only through his written work but also through his reputation as a teacher and a public speaker, whose readings brought his poetry to life with a rare and resonant clarity.

I am still waiting for that road to appear, I feel it appears every day, but seems we are blindfolded by the comfort of our lives, the less travelled road is the one we should thrive. Finding shelter like a bee in their hives, the one who walks the less travelled road survives, Thank you Sir..
Wish you all the best, Nikhil!
