    I’m curious if you can have resole done in a wide width or if the uppers are different. For example I have a pair of 10D bean boots. Would it be possible to resole them with the rubber of 10EE or are the leather uppers a different size for the EE width?

    • @llbean
      @llbean  Před 3 lety +4

      Yes, we can put wide width bottoms on a regular width pair of boots as long as we are staying with the same size for length. So, we could put 10EE bottoms on 10D uppers.

    Are you able to stich a new boot loop during the resoling process? My dog chewed mine off unfortunately.

    I'm interested in identifying the green handled squarish knife used for cutting the stitching?

    I'm a new customer to LL Bean. I just bought my first pair of 8" traditional bean boots. One of the great things I've discovered is the use of the Puritan sewing machine to handle the very important connection point between leather upper and rubber bottom. I'm curious is this the same Puritan stitch that is also famous on Red Wing boots? It looks awesome.

    • @llbean
      @llbean  Před 2 lety +2

      We also use Puritan sewing machines to do our triple stitching with. We hope you have plenty of outdoor adventures in your new boots!

      @@llbean thank you so much for your quick response. I just got off the phone with you guys. I had started an online "chat" earlier today asking the customer service rep if the triple stitch was in fact from a Puritan Sewing machine. (Like what is used by Red Wing) The young lady didn't have an answer but she told me she'd pass the question on to someone who may know more. I just got off the phone and she thought it was she same Puritan stitch. That's very cool. You guys really need to highlight this attribute of the boot (Just as Red Wing does) I consider LL Bean to be an American Heritage Footwear. You should get more credit for your amazing boots. Thank you so much for your response. You guys at LL Bean are awesome !!!

    @L.L.Bean Thank you. I'll call you with a couple of boots too. What about shoes, can you resole your 'lower profile' boots too?

      We can only resole our traditional Bean Boots that are made here in Maine. We would not be able to resole the Storm Chaser Boots.

    Where do we go if we bought got Duck boots as a gift or bought them from a third party?

    • @llbean
      @llbean  Před 2 lety

      If you purchase Bean Boots from a 3rd party, you'd need to contact that 3rd party. If you received them as a gift and know the name and billing address of the original buyer, then we would be happy to research the original payment method. Please reach out to us at ask@llbean.com with the purchase details. ^dc

    Are the materials still the same? I have yet to see a company not skimp on the newer materials yet... the leather on new boots is cheap and bad cuts. Where would I fond the specifications for the new materials used because nothing is made to last anymore.

    • @llbean
      @llbean  Před rokem

      We haven't changed the materials we use for our Bean Boots since 1999 when we changed the composition of the rubber for our Bean Boot bottoms. ^kw

      The cost varies depending upon what type of bottom your boot has. The current cost to have new uninsulated bottoms is $39 plus any applicable tax. For more information, please email ask@llbean.com or call 800-341-4341.

    Only thing I hate about the bean boots is the different color used for the sole. I wish they were the same color all the way through. The contrast vexes me. I'd kill for a 16" hunting shoe, dark brown from top to bottom.
