Crofting in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. This short clip introduces the role of crofting development and training. Interviews with crofters from Tain, Assynt, Lochbroom and Dingwall.
This is the life i have always longed for, I am a drystone dyker and the wife is a NHS community nurse , is there demand for this work in any Scottish crofting communities? Along with running a croft...
i was going to appologise for the crazy pic to the left, of me with my face painted but hey..lol I NEED TO START THIS MESSAGE BY SAYING IM FRUSTRATED....im from a town in essex and im ex army with a family on the first stages to seriously looking at crofting, and i cant find any real positive info about getting onto an available croft that this guy says clearly need filling.....i would like to go to a place where my wife can also work as a school teaching assistant to subsidise our income....can someone please help and i would like info on crofting courses too...many regards Nigel :-)
You just heard the guy saying that there are virtually no children - so whom is your wife going to teach? You need to to your home work buddy, get up there in to the western Hebrides or the highlands of Scotland and do some reconnaissance instead of asking inanely silly questions.
SCF - there is no excuse for "missing" his enquiry for a year! No wonder you have few views and appear to struggle to get traction. Create internships, have Try Crofting off a month workshops, get going man!
@@thescottishcroftingfederation Thank you for the reaction. I'll be visiting and may be I can get good chance to learn Scottish way of life in reality.
Crofting --- your time has come. Strength. Hold fast ye crofters!
Thanks guys this really helped with my homework👍
