  • We thought of building a garden bed to supply vegetables and summer herbs. We built 4 garden beds with extra, broken blocks in the garden.
To build a Raised Bed, you need tools such as a meter, string, level and grinding stone. The bottom layer of the raised garden bed is straw and dry grass, in the middle layer a mixture of chicken manure and soil is used, and the top layer is pure nature soil.
Raised garden beds are an excellent option for growing vegetables, fruits, and flowers. They offer a number of advantages over traditional in-ground gardens, including:
Improved soil drainage: Raised beds have better drainage than in-ground gardens, which can help prevent problems with root rot and other diseases. This is especially important if you have heavy clay soil that drains poorly.
Easier weed control: The sides of raised beds make it easier to keep weeds out of your garden. This is because you can trim the edges of the bed and create a barrier that weeds will have a hard time crossing.
Less soil compaction: When you walk on in-ground gardens, it can compact the soil. This can make it difficult for plants to grow roots and can also lead to drainage problems. Raised beds help to prevent soil compaction because the sides of the bed keep people and animals from walking on the soil.
Warmer soil: Raised beds can warm up earlier in the spring than in-ground gardens. This is because the soil in raised beds is exposed to more sunlight and air. This can give you a longer growing season and allow you to plant your crops earlier in the year.
Better accessibility: Raised beds can be made at any height, which can make them more accessible to people with disabilities or who have difficulty bending or kneeling.
Improved appearance: Raised beds can add a neat and tidy appearance to your garden. They can also be used to create interesting visual effects in your landscape.
If you're considering starting a garden, raised beds are a great option to consider. They offer a number of advantages that can make gardening easier and more enjoyable. With a little planning and effort, you can create a beautiful and productive raised bed garden that will provide you with fresh, healthy food for years to come.
