Nier:Automata will always be, for me, the JRPG that broke through the ceiling and raised the bar so high that no other JRPG can come close to its way of storytelling. Yoko Taro wasn't kidding when he said that his goal for this game was for players to not only be immersed in the game, but to also feel its story.
Only an absolute madman (and perhaps, a genius) like Yoko Taro could make players feel human in a game devoid of them.
No games tell a story the way nier does. The closest I've seen is 13 sentinels aegis rim but Nier is masterful at telling and retelling the same story from a new perspective that turns everything upside down. I think automata is a contender for my favorite game of all time.
@@GalanOfTruth Yeah i think i might have to say this is my favorite game of all time not because I enjoyed the most or had the most fun with it, but because I'm still thinking about it a month after playing it.
@@thesnazzmaster I'm still thinking about it years later lol, every time I listen to the ost I want to drop what I'm doing and go play replicant and automata yet again.

I basically did a double-take when hearing that!
It reminds me of how in the original song, 壊レタ世界ノ歌, the feeling of hopelessness comes through in the performer's loss of composure as she continued to sing the rest of the song, which made the emotion hit so much harder than if anyone were to perform it textbook style.

It's also the part where the original jp singer starts crying
I hear so many covers and rock remixes for the English version of this song. This is the first one I've found where the singer echoes the Japanese songstress with sounding like she's crying. I got the same heart in throat goose bump reaction from the amount of emotion!
I loved when I heard the Japanese songstress start crying from the lyrics. I loved it more when the editors wanted another take and Yoko Taro said "No! Leave it!"

holy fuck i had my doubts when i saw you did a cover of weight of the world because its a more slow song, unlike the metal covers you normally do, but this works so well, its slow when it needs to be but heart pumping metal when appropriate, I love it.

A request for a different Platinum Games soundtrack: Metal Gear Rising. Any of the vocal tracks are fantastic but (one of) the most obvious choice would be "A Stranger I Remain," since it's the one track that has female vocals but Rena shows, fairly well, that this doesn't really mater.
I honestly think this is one of the best covers I heard.

I've never thought to ask; what is FalKKonE? Is it a person, a group, a collective, or a malicous ai funding its world domination through music sales? If so I'll keep dooming humanity if this is the tradeoff.
As its basics it's one man (one falcon) rulling this wonderful channel. Papa FalKKonE is an amazing musician and producer and he accepted me in his path to rule the world ; he would be leading us with its music and I would accompany him as his official voice !
