I honestly think the build up did the opposite. It feels like they tried doing what they did when luffy punched the celestial dragon, but then they kept repeating scenes for this one. Still really good regardless though
I like how they call each other by their full titles at the end (Sanji calls queen the plague instead of dino and Queen calls him by his name rather than judge's son), It's a cool way from the director to show they see one another as the absolute priority and must eliminate each other right now.

Small detail nobody’s talking about: at 1:20 the final “explosion” (if you wanna call it that) had the colors of red, blue, green, and pink the same colors as his siblings. Signifying he truly has the same scientific powers as them (plus more) without the emotionless killer personality his brothers have. He’s the furthest one of those brothers being a failure

Everything in this episode deserves an applause. For the first 18 seconds of the clip I felt calm and happy for Sanji. An excellent job by the animators, the voice actors and the director!

In a way Queen is the perfect opponent to Sanji He is a mad scientist that uses the same technology that Sanji is disgusted by. He even goads Sanji with the rivalry he has with Germa, reminding him again and again of the regrettable past he’s trying to ignore. In this fight Sanji’s not only battling queen but himself. Queen has infected Sanji with a plague of tragedy that unless Sanji should overcome it, he will lose himself and the fight. Queen is a culmination of his trauma that Sanji is trying to outrun. The fight serves as a means for sanji to confront that trauma, facing it head on. It’s poetic and befitting of Sanji’s character. I’m suprised Oda went this in depth with Sanji, truly inspiring.
The moment Sanji activated Ifrit Jambe, Queen stood no chance. I keep saying this, and I'll keep saying it...Sanji is one of the best written characters in anime history 🔥
One amazing thing i noticed was the shockwave caused when he kicked queen from above 0:49 . Kicks powerful enough to cause a shockwave are new for sanji and awesome. But what makes that even more awesome is seeing that he didnt use ifrit jambe for it... that was his regular kick.
You know. Whatever his mom did to him to keep him from turning into his siblings. Ended up making Sanji the best parts of his entire family. The strength of Winch Green. The Charm of Poison Pink. The fury of Electric Blue. The Decisiveness of Burning Red. And the tenacity of his father. And finally the compassion of his mother. Sanji is what Reiju and and his brothers could've been. He was never a failure. He was Judges greatest success.
I like how for their fights, Zoro and sanji had to not only think about their crew but also remember their reason of going out to sea during wano. Zorro overcame king by fighting like a king, and sanji overcame queen by fighting for his dream and for his crew.

Ok Queen flying was like the only actual animation in this clip. The rest was just effects and moving hair, mouths. The first 20 seconds was mostly a landscape with the same except the very brief, not great animation of Sanji running at the crew

The first few seconds work if you watch the whole episode and not a 2 minutes clip and it displays great directorial skill. At Bouef Burst, you have insane background animation for both Queen and Sanji, great ink work and smears to make that nice impact frame-like shot, and all of the other factors.
The colors were so vibrant yet soft. Voice acting was good animation wasn't drug out too long or still I gotta say they're giving every wano highlight the animation it deserves. This was great.
It’s ironic. Judge wanted to create ultimate super soldiers, and deemed Sanji the ultimate failure. But in his quest for power, he forgot that humans have the ability to become the strongest and the power he was chasing all this time is tiny next to the human spirit.

I really love his relationship with zeff, cus zeff is like the ultimate father figure you could ask for. He was tough and gruff when he was in his prime, but he felt sympathy for a kid he barely knew. All because sanji shared the same dream as he did. I think a lot of fathers act tough on the outside but are soft inside like sanji and zeff
I like how Luffy (the main character) has all of the creative abilities/techniques that would come from a rubber body and then you have Sanji who ONLY kicks, and they're about equal in terms of how cool/creative their combat styles are.
Oda has written Sanji into a dead end. There’s no room to grow with his one tracked kicking moves and flames. What’s next? He’s not going to use his hands because for some reason he doesn’t find it important and his blue flames will properly be his peak. This is pretty much it for Sanji
I love how in this moment, Judge's supposed "failure" of a son becomes the greatest of all of his children by rejecting him and doing things in his own way. Judge threw Sanji away, never truly understanding his value as a human being, and now he's left with three sociopathic sons far weaker than Sanji and a daughter traumatized by the things that he (Judge) was responsible for. Meanwhile, the son he abandoned has gone on to do greater things than he could ever dream of.
I waited for this fight to be animated since they released the volume 102 cover, when we found out that his flames would be blue using ifrit jambe. All i can say is that it was worth the wait, amazing fight with great animation and some extra scenes during the episodes that gave it that much of quality one piece anime always provide! Sanji vs queen is probably the best sanji's fight, the last time I got so hyped for a sanji's fight was against jabra of cp9, even sanji vs doflamingo, but it wasn't really a fight. And the last one 1.032 billion berries being under Zoro and jimbe for the gag of number 4 (Sanji has been technically number 2 for all wano arc, more than 4 years, so the joke of being number 4 was a good one, especially for Zoro fans)

Everyone was hyping this episode up before it came out, this episode did not disappoint. From the opening scene you could tell the animation was on a whole different level. It looked like a movie. 1061 will always be an episode I come back too

In a way Queen is the perfect opponent to Sanji
He is a mad scientist that uses the same technology that Sanji is disgusted by. He even goads Sanji with the rivalry he has with Germa, reminding him again and again of the regrettable past he’s trying to ignore. In this fight Sanji’s not only battling queen but himself. Queen has infected Sanji with a plague of tragedy that unless Sanji should overcome it, he will lose himself and the fight.
Queen is a culmination of his trauma that Sanji is trying to outrun. The fight serves as a means for sanji to confront that trauma, facing it head on.
It’s poetic and befitting of Sanji’s character. I’m suprised Oda went this in depth with Sanji, truly inspiring.
The moment Sanji activated Ifrit Jambe, Queen stood no chance. I keep saying this, and I'll keep saying it...Sanji is one of the best written characters in anime history 🔥

This whole episode was animated like a cinematic movie. Awesome. Beginning from the intro until the very end. They nailed it!
One amazing thing i noticed was the shockwave caused when he kicked queen from above 0:49 . Kicks powerful enough to cause a shockwave are new for sanji and awesome. But what makes that even more awesome is seeing that he didnt use ifrit jambe for it... that was his regular kick.

I like how for their fights, Zoro and sanji had to not only think about their crew but also remember their reason of going out to sea during wano. Zorro overcame king by fighting like a king, and sanji overcame queen by fighting for his dream and for his crew.

Queen flying was like the only actual animation in this clip. The rest was just effects and moving hair, mouths. The first 20 seconds was mostly a landscape with the same except the very brief, not great animation of Sanji running at the crew
One piece doesn't really have good animation, it is coll to see it and all but just above average. Once yo see what ufotable is doing with KNY there is no coming back

The first few seconds work if you watch the whole episode and not a 2 minutes clip and it displays great directorial skill. At Bouef Burst, you have insane background animation for both Queen and Sanji, great ink work and smears to make that nice impact frame-like shot, and all of the other factors.

The colors were so vibrant yet soft. Voice acting was good animation wasn't drug out too long or still I gotta say they're giving every wano highlight the animation it deserves. This was great.

Hands down one of THE best fights in wano. The epicness, the emotions ugh just everything that an anime fight should be.
I really love his relationship with zeff, cus zeff is like the ultimate father figure you could ask for. He was tough and gruff when he was in his prime, but he felt sympathy for a kid he barely knew. All because sanji shared the same dream as he did. I think a lot of fathers act tough on the outside but are soft inside like sanji and zeff

I love how in this moment, Judge's supposed "failure" of a son becomes the greatest of all of his children by rejecting him and doing things in his own way.
Judge threw Sanji away, never truly understanding his value as a human being, and now he's left with three sociopathic sons far weaker than Sanji and a daughter traumatized by the things that he (Judge) was responsible for. Meanwhile, the son he abandoned has gone on to do greater things than he could ever dream of.

I waited for this fight to be animated since they released the volume 102 cover, when we found out that his flames would be blue using ifrit jambe. All i can say is that it was worth the wait, amazing fight with great animation and some extra scenes during the episodes that gave it that much of quality one piece anime always provide!
