I’ve never cared about the WHC once in my life…prior to what I just saw from Silovs. That tournaments experience matters!!

The Only "Game Puck" Ian Clark wants looks like the Stanley cup.
Sometimes when a team has never met and seen the goalie before, be it a 3rd stringer, the other team simply does not have a read on him. Silovs being a very good goalie in his own right, under the guidance of Clark, just had that slight advantage over the opposing players. It is good to have great backup goaltending in Silovs and Desmith. Hopefully, the structured Canucks can hold fort against the Oilers before Demko has a chance to come back, who is our backbone, with Petey chipping in the offence here and there. He is desperately needed. It is still exciting though when the Canucks can suffocate the opposition to a low scoring hockey games, especially the high power Oilers offence, with the Canucks having just enough ammo to win a game. However, the probability of winning is just a little more if the scoring improves by a goal or 2 per game. Go Canucks!

Oilers can shutdown the opposition too! So, dont think goals will eventual come if Canucks stick to their defenses, Oilers can bust those too! They did to the Kings 1 3 1 system...Anyway, we will see how this series pans out....
Latvia's been a bit of a low key goalie factory with Merzlikins, the late Kivlenieks, Gudlevskis, and now Silovs. A lot of it probably stems from Irbe being such a high profile guy in the 90s and early 00s.

We already have defense now, from top to bottom. They don't. Canucks in 5 . Oilers have 3/4 of a team as far as depth goes against most of the teams in playoffs. How r Oilers gonna do with 1 hurt defense and 1 first or 2 liner. Canucks got better defense. More different sources of scoring like r 3rd line.
