I have this book and it's one of my most treasured in my collection. I recently saw an episode of The Brady Bunch with Kym Karath, and when I looked in this book sure enough there was a photo from it in there. 😊
Just bought it for 5 euro brand new sound of music everyone has one movie that's a guilty pleasure this is mine cause as a child i remember watching this with my family and all of us together enjoying it.My mother and father have passed on in the last couple of years so it's all the more poignant to me everytime i see it now.
Angela Cartwright certainly wasn't unknown before the movie. She was well known on television and she had a reputation for not being a very good actor, unlike the boy who played her brother. Her being in the movie was a negative for me since I already was so familiar with her and couldn't buy her as being one of the von Trapps.
y'know... this should be titled von trapp actors and actresses...using von trapp name as a vehicle for their fame is crucially appalling and a shame...ok 1965 version was great...but 1956 version (THE ORIGINAL version) was the best...original german language version tells the honesty(supposedly) of the legacy of von trapp....forget the Rogers/Hammerstein version for a minute and tip your hats to the original german/austrian actors and actresses...I wish these now "famous" von trapp actors just say the actors and actresses of von trapp....again.... using von trapp name from these actors and actresses for their fame is just appalling and disgrace....
It's the title of the video, the actors always make it clear that they worked on the film, and the "real Von Trapp children" would not be so famous, without THIS film, so all advertising is appropriate. On the other hand, none are original, since they are all inspired by a book. The only original thing is the book. Plus the real Maria Von Trapp said that she really was how Julie Andrews had portrayed her, like a tomboy. In other words, all versions have their successes and mistakes. Now Robert Wise was clear in saying that he was not making a documentary.

Went to Salzburg in May...stayed at REAL Villa Trapp. WONDERFUL time!! Gorgeous mountains and meadows of flowers!
