Really happy to hear them giving Jordan Travis his due. He had quite a game. Some of those third down conversions were freaking tremendous. Had some excellent throws dropped as well, including two for touchdowns. Really happy for Wilson too. He made some outstanding grabs for touchdowns while being interfered with.
Brian Kelly at times literally looked dumbfounded by this fsu team last night and that speaks volumes to me!! Look at the replay of the game whenever they pan out to Brian Kelly
Congrats on the exciting win! I was "WRONG," and underestimated the heart of the players under Norvell. Changing my prediction from 7-5 to 8-4 for this season.

With that said, I agree with those who are complaining about FSU's last offensive drive, as FSU should have simply executed, just like it did for the entire game, putting the pressure back on LSU, by putting on its big boy pants and making a statement, just like it did the previous drive.
But, I 100% agree with how the defense played on LSU's last drive, why you ask?
Again, because of four simple words: "Jack" "Son" "Ville" "State!"
So to everyone who is crying, particularly the men, I have one simple question, "Did you order and drank your cranberry juice?"
Because you are acting as if you are on your period! (Great movie by the way)
Finally, Go freaking FSU! It's about time we have had one of these close national televised games go our way and didn't end up in recruits taking FSU "OFF" of the list!
I love the 'Noles, I love God first, then country, then family, in particular my children, then it's a close tie between FSU and my wife, with FSU having the slight edge, depending on how FSU plays week to week.
Because we're not the gators! We expect more!

The defense worked extremely well, except for that last drive! Without that last drive, FSU Defense had held LSU to 250 yards of total offense, where a team that has All Americans on it, that shows you something. That last drive, where they went with a three man front, was beyond terrible. I did not understand why they did that defense for! The defense is good, and needs to stick to what works. The offense needs more work, in making sure receivers catch the ball in crucial moments. Overall, this team is 100 times better than last year and will continue to get better. Watch out ACC, FSU is coming back!

The “drop” on the end zone pass to Pitman was a dubious non-call. On the replay you can see his arm being held. Why else would he attempt to make the catch with on hand? And Danny Kanell defended that call. Said “nobody complained in all the times he pitched it to Warrick Dunn…Great Win!!! Go Noles!!!

I remember these guys were joyed out of their minds after the Notre Dame last year after a close loss. It seems they learned their lesson as well because right now they understand that FSU needs to follow this win with another good showing next week (unlike last year when they lost to a Jacksonville State).

If Norvell called a standard handoff, and it was fumbled, then everybody would be complaining about why JT didn’t just run it. If they fumbled the snap, people would be complaining about why they didn’t just kick a FG on an early down. If they missed the FG, people would complain why they didn’t try to run it in on fourth down. And if they failed to convert on four straight runs up the middle, they’d complain about not getting more creative.
The play call was RIGHT because it would’ve been a walk-in TD if Ward catches the pitch - ya know the way he always catches every other pitch. The execution failed us… not the play-calling.
Im not going to have a back n forth on the topic. It was a bad call. You all can disagree thats your choice. You have 3 good running backs plus a good running qb why risk a pitch to the rb on 3rd and 1.

What worries me about Norvell is the “what are you thinking” moments. Like right before half. Like the pitch. Other plays as well. Just seems like these moments happen too much and really hurts us.
Yes, Norvell made a lot of dumb mistakes he didn't acknowledge. Points were hard to come by, and he got greedy going for TD's. He really looked like a rookie coach last night.

McDonald always dropping balls🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️. Pitman needs more playing time. Turnovers have to be turned into points every opportunity we have. Oline held pretty well. The inside runs wasn’t possible against that dline, should’ve stayed outside. JT was on fire in the passing game. Overall we dominated. Defense went crazy but DC play calling has to be better in close game situations. Go Noles🍢🍢🍢

Great Win. Everybody is complaining about Norvell's boneheaded decisions to not kick field goals in the Red Zone. So, I will complain about the all the dropped passes once again. Those receivers looked terrible how badly they missed catching those balls. The ball going right through their hands and arms is ridiculous.

We’re gonna get some missed wheels this year… it’s the slowest developing route, and if Travis is seeing an earlier opening in his progression, he’s gonna throw that because he’s a better QB this year (throwing more comfortably, into tighter windows, with anticipation). We have gotten used to success on the wheel because nothing else was open in the past and that’s where Travis eventually felt comfortable, so we’re looking for it, but JT’s improvement will mean we go there less. All that said, I do expect for Norvell to work with JT to notice clues a little better (and a little earlier) to recognize the big play potential of the wheel as he goes through his progressions.
Play calling was the only issue for FSU primarily

Would love to be singing Norvell's praises, but it's painfully apparent that somewhere along the way in any game, he'll make decisions that could/will cost his team the game. He seems to lack situational awareness, no brainer kind of things!! It's a pattern at this point!

I liked the offensive play calling except for 1, the pitch at the 1. There weren’t too many dumb penalties. Special teams won us that game. JT was great.
If dent hadn't made that late hit on Daniels they were about to lay down. They had their foot on LSUs throat and that penalty let them up

Yes 2 great passes and 2 missed field goals. This shouldn't have even been close.
In a game where you had to block two extra points to win, there's literally no argument for going for the TD before the half. It was a bad call now and it was at the time. You get the ball on the 16, you take the points.
There absolutely is an argument for going for it… the math supports the call. You don’t like the call in hindsight, because the game was close, but going for it and converting is almost double the increase to win potential (18%) when compared to kicking and making it. Missing either the conversion or the kick only lowered the win share by 5 % either way. And making the kick vs missing the conversion is only a 6% difference. Norvell’s call is a call to WIN the game - it’s aggressive - yours is a call not to lose - it’s conservative. The math is there, and over a large enough sample size, the math wins out… it’s the way counting cards beats the house, you’re absolutely gonna miss some opportunities, and that’ll suck in hindsight, but if you play the long game, it pays off when sample size increases. Judging any one call in a vacuum denies the entire strategic reality.

Ya can’t speak out of both side of your mouth on that one… the call was right, because the call was gonna lead to a TD if properly executed. You can fumble a snap on any play, you can fumble a straight handoff just like you can fumble a simple pitch. We run that play ALL the time, we had run it successfully earlier, and would have scored if run properly. That makes it a proper call.

Stop kicking the ball out of bounds, take the points, toss pitch in that situation was really bad. Offense played great though and defense tackled and got pressure. Wide receivers played lights out. Oline great job overall.

As an LSU guy, I give you all the credit for the win. Looking forward as a College football fan, I would not be too optimistic on Fla St. LSU OL looked like an HS team and your 3 headed monster at running back did not account for 100 yards combined. I would not be surprised to see LSU end the season at .500 or less. Based on what I saw Sunday, Fla St won't be much better. These teams are not that much different. Just look at the score. It was a 1 point game.
Bad decisions on penalties and Coach Norvell, not kicking the field goals in the first Quarter and fourth quarter was totally dump Founded decisions, and down the road its going to cost us in wins .

I'm happy we won but I'm not excited for the season. Norvell as always plays too cute for me. Any other team would have blown LSU out and we struggled to win. That receiving corp still needs help, the defensive secondary is garbage. A win is a win but Norvell needs to stop making these risk it or biscuit calls---DUDE TAKE THE POINTS!!!!! BRO, instead of telling Travis to pitch it to the RB how about you call a hand off to the running back.
The “other teams” that would’ve blown out LSU would’ve done so BECAUSE they converted on that 4th and 2, BECAUSE they would’ve caught the flag route that Johnny had both hands on, and BECAUSE they would’ve caught the pitch that Ward dropped and waltzed into the end zone. The play-calling in this game was aggressive and that’s the kind of play-calling that leads to a blowout when you’re a 4 point dog… if he played conservatively, we wouldn’t have blown anybody out. And people need to stop acting like FGs are guaranteed points with a kicker who missed a FG, edged a PAT, and kicked two kickoffs out of bounds.
