Tom has always shown Zendaya a lot of love all the time that we've known them. Zendaya, on the other hand, has gone through different stages in their relationship. At one point, she used to try to keep them apart at all costs.

Those interviews are 3+ years old. They made sure to keep their relationship on the downlow. if they hadn't got caught we would have never knew.
Samantha, that was no surprise dinner date. The owners of that Resturant told the two of them to come back since they were there before promoting the Spider-Man no way home movie. Zendaya had an assignment there so that was a good time for him to go there after his assignment was completed in New york City. So actually nothing was a surprise or Romantic Samantha!
